Well, the show had good visuals and a potential for good acting (though the female lead is unwatchable). The writing…
There was very little wrong with this drama other than it was much more light-hearted than serious. The writing was fine, the boys very pretty, & the history not mangled. No problems.
8.6 LOL, meanwhile boring Goblin is the 2nd best drama here....
Wow - BORING Goblin? ridiculous. This is an intense crime thriller & so far well done, while Goblin was a beautifully realized, well-thought out modern fairy tale. Apples and oranges, dear. It's possible to love them both (like, say I do!)
Well, I watched the first episode & the girls were awesome, but if this is gonna be one of those cynical corporate cutthroat dramas where all the characters are poisonous & decent human relationships are sneered at, then whoops! I can find all sorts of American dramas doing that. In fact, I ran screaming away from US TV partly because I'm TIRED of the nastiness. It's not just romance lacking here, I gather. I'm sorry, having positive human relations in a drama, showing that those are more important than running after money & power, is a PLUS, not a negative. If this really is what this drama is like, then a) I understand Netflix picking it up (oh look! a KDrama like ours!) & b) will drop it.
sorry to say but i really dont like the hate comments for this drama smh, just to share my opinion, this drama…
A hate comment normally is a trollish one that has no basis in reality. Most of the disparaging comments about this drama are backed by actual references TO the drama. You may not agree with the conclusions, but to just dismiss honest critism as 'hate comments' really smacks of pique.
BTW, now that the 'mystery' of what happened on the island & how they got away has been solved, & the action moved back to Seoul & evil corporate overlords, I find it much more palatable.
my god, call the doctor. Everybody is losing their spines! actually, nevermind. they're evil too I can't…
It's not just Tae Ho being a murderous psychopath on the island anymore - now it's the much more deadly evil new CEO who's got the money & power to carry out his threats. Totally understand. Notice how they refused to implicate Bong Hee, BTW. They do think Joon Ho is dead, as well.
I loved how Bong Hee punched Tae Ho! Damn, I don't remember watching a K-drama where a girl fights a guy…
I have to say, not just Bong Hee but also Ji An - YAYYY!!! Plus our manager tripping Tae Ho etc...This episode didn't piss me off as seriously as the previous ones, although the lack of ability of that idiot female investigator is maddening...
Looking at the comments, i can already tell that my opinions on the drama wont be agreed with much... but im gonna…
You see, I'm the opposite of that kind of person. I like an intelligent, well-written drama, especially if it's a suspense thriller. This one looked very promising but it has too many logic holes and is not coherent. It certainly could have kept what I've already agreed with you was a very unique approach to the story-telling without sacrificing character integrity. But the writers have not done that. I'm happy for you that you like it - but I don't because I actually DO think a lot about dramas. Your suggestions in the face of that obvious fact are rather insulting as well as show a lack of comprehension of my meaning & criticism here.

Yes they would feel guilty about not being able to save them, etc. HOWEVER they would not say to AUTHORITIES 'I killed so&so' nor would they say it to their friends, without qualifications. As in - 'my fault' 'shouldn't have fought' 'should have held on tighter'. I complain about this in every drama that it happens - the whole 'use your words' thing - so no it's not just this drama. I had high hopes for this one. Cast & acting is excellent & the concept very interesting. It's simply in the hands of some incompetent writers, sadly.
Is this drama really that shitty like everyone is saying? Like a 2/10? Like one of the worst dramas ever?
Well, I'm about to drop it because the writers are making me so angry with their incompetence. I'm watching 10 KDramas right now and this is by far the most annoying.

The concept of this drama, the way it slips back & forth, the idea of revealing snippets so the audience thinks they know what's going on only to be fooled - this is NOT what is bad about the writing. It is the fact that the writers are not doing a very good job at it. Good example - WHY did they show the fight between Jun Oh & Tae Ho AFTER we knew Tae Ho survived? Bad writing. The inability of SEVEN people to keep Taeho under control after he slashed that lifeboat? Ridiculous. The way people keep saying they killed a person when what they MEAN is, oops I defended myself, tried to keep some idiot from offing herself, but since it was on a clifftop they fell & I feel responsible for not being able to save them - THAT'S bad writing. Lots of other examples. If this story had been written well, all the things you mention would have been so interesting! But, no, sadly, not happening.
By the way, in successful suspense stories, viewers do not feel as if the story is just on repeat the way this one does.
I really had hopes that this drama would avoid the sageuk/historical drama infatuation w/palace politics, concentrating more on how this woman managed to become a great artist despite everything. But doesn't look like it. The REAL woman married a GENERAL - the whole tragic love affair thing could have been fine but the way it's going ~sigh~ I'm more interested in the modern story at this point.
I'll hold off until the end - I'm still disgusted with some other dramas vying for tops in that category (Monster, Goodbye Mr. Black, Glamorous Temptation....)
I hate when people rating dramas when it's still going, like, I read so many bad comment here but still 8.2…
Actually, quite often, if you are talking about internal consistency. The better that holds up, the better the story. This mess doesn't bother with it.
Long rant about useless psycho-bitch incoming~~ The "plot-twist's" in this drama are not even shocking…
This is a lot more like Lost (ok, the effect that Lost had on so many people) than I expect the writers intended LOL Just, so much potential lost, so much stupidity! I'm not sure I'll even finish this.
Look, there's such a thing as suspension of disbelief - the ability of a writer to create a logical progression where despite some unreal elements the overall plot seems real given the rules of that particular scenario/world.
THESE writers are destroying that sense of logic. A lot do, even in dramas that are supposed to be slice of life. So when people, like me, complain about how unrealistic this drama is, most of us are screaming that this is not how THESE CHARACTERS would behave, considering how they have been presented to us. I could go on - I do have degrees in critical writing - but there's fantasy & then just plain stupid. This is getting really annoyingly stupid.
