''Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon'' wannabe.
Really. Oh sweetie. You are so off. Being inspired by a creative work is MUCH different than being a KNOCKOFF of it, BTW. I certainly can see the inspiration. I am reacting to the idea that Memories of the Sword is a Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon wannabe (other than, it wanted to be as good a film & make as much money - something quite different than plagiarism).
I'd say YOU were the immature person, as you decided to judge me so quickly. I based my comment solely on your completely inaccurate description.

Title Missing 9 Spoiler
Didnt tae ho kill that guys sister? How come in the last episode they became buddy buddy
Ah - yes - that makes more sense. Plus, Tae Ho hasn't bothered to tell these guys about all the people he killed (ie the pilot & Yeol) - but still this ending is totally ridiculous. If the writers wanted to strain our credulity they should have had Yeol show up alive & well :(

Oh, the sad attempt at justifying Tae Ho - honey, he allowed that horrible CEO to cover up the songwriter's death (agreed, didn't kill the guy nor realize CEO did), let his best bud take the fall for that (& the drunk driving), killed the pilot, Sung Hee, the reporter, YEOL (albeit sorta kinda accidentally), the deckhand, actively attempted to kill Jun Oh, helped evil CEO try to kill the other CEO twice - but yeah, all nice after a bit of therapy, jail time & community service....
Just, gag me.

and the end is out! did Yeol live?
So furious. Considering the total and complete stupidity of the ending, there's absolutely NO REASON they couldn't have just had Yeol stroll up to join the party with some inane excuse. In fact one reason I didn't stop watching this was the hope they would do so. Cause who CARES if it was realistic? NOTHING in this drama made any sense at all!

Unbelievable. I had almost stopped watching this mess around episode 9 but it got more watchable after the island stuff stopped - not I didn't say 'good' - but OMG!!!! WTF???? Listen, I don't care HOW corrupt you are, once the CEO gets caught, that prosecutor & politician would NEVER try to cover up something like multiple murder!!! Not when there are 5 witnesses all pointing their fingers straight at Tae Ho!!!! I'm so sorry. Crooked prosecutor might have still insisted on a trial somehow but those people STILL would have been called in as witnesses! OMG what was that? And those IDIOT writers - if they were going to do something so incredibly stupid as have a convicted multiple murderer inexplicably joining in on some paint party, with the brother of one of his victims no less, then the LEAST said stupid writers could have done is BRING BACK YEOL ALIVE!!!!!
I'm so furious.

I just dont get that the way someone said the drama is bad. In my opinion, this drama is really something and…
RizkaFarah, most people don't understand WTF the scriptwriters are trying to do because they are piss poor writers. Sorry, they lack cohesion & logical progression, make inconsistent leaps of 'logic', draw inane conclusions, create unbelievable scenarios. Some of these faults can be overcome, but when they are all prevalent in a drama then it creates a lack of interest in the story. That's what's going on here. Thank goodness that the actors are so strong.

fudanshidesu, I was calling RizkaFarah out on his misogynistic statement. (or maybe her - lord knows women diss themselves on a depressingly frequent basis).

Still waiting for Yeol to come back. ;-;
I have high hopes, considering the ridiculousness of the rest of the drama. In this case, that would make the drama better LOL

No, dear. It's because many of us are NOT teenagers...and BTW, darling, being female hardly makes one dislike good dramas. How very misogynistic of you.
Those of us who do not like this script don't like it because of the total ineptness of the writing. It is very illogical, choppy and maddening. I almost dropped the drama because of the circles viewers got led around in during the whole 'who survived the island' nonsense. At least once they all came back that idiocy stopped.
I frankly am only watching it because despite all the horrible writing, the ACTORS are great & the chemistry between our leads is tangible - not in a romcom way but more a comedic timing thing.
The fact that you can't see this speaks volumes about your lack of comprehension of the basics in regards to crafting a good story.

I love this so much - why people are taking the kidnapper that seriously :( Whatever - Gook Do's a cop, the evil killer is a plot device, nothing more. This is just a delightfully silly little romcom w/totally gorgeous guys LOL

''Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon'' wannabe.
Hardly. I've seen both. I guess any movie w/female warriors & a revenge motif must be a knockoff of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon to you LOL

Wow. I've never seen so many clichés in one movie before... that wasn't a parody movie made by the Wayans brothers.…
Bitter, are we? You must not have understood the plot, I'm thinking. Or be able to appreciate true cinematic beauty when you see it. Of course dissing Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon shows THAT....

The story is interesting but it is also written very poorly. I hope when we will see the older cast, there will…
I think I get what you mean - I do agree that the writers left us hanging with the younger characters - pretty thorough up to that horrific scene witnessed, then WTF happened? Bits & pieces, no real examination - makes me wonder if that's all going to come out as part of the later story - flashbacks to explain things. Who knows?
My problems with this lie in the focus away from her painting - I wanted to see how she developed her artistic skills, not see another sageuk about royal uprisings et al :( Tragic love story or not :(
