I don't understand how people decide to drop dramas or put them on hold after seeing only the first episode. The…
Crusading Angel:
Not a good analogy. In this case (the drama) people choose not to watch something at all, or drop it after the first episode, because they don't like the cast, it's not the story they were looking for (ie the KIND of thing they thought it would be), or life gets in the way. All legit.
What is NOT legit - ie responsible, useful, logical criticism - is saying a drama is terrible, story stupid, acting awful - from ONE EPISODE!!!! Sorry, you've really no idea if it is or not. Saying the one episode you watched was terrible (for whatever legitimate - ie supported - reason) is valid, but not the whole drama.
I have dropped shows after one episode because the one episode was bad, but sometimes word comes back that I was very premature about it And I realize that.
I'm so psyched cause I actually got to see this in a THEATER! Here in Asheville, NC no less! It's playing at a lot of art theaters & possibly some of the big multiplexes in urban areas.
I appologize all his fans but Jong Suk was really bad on this role (i'm still on ep 3 though) He gives his lines…
I see - THAT'S how you judge the accuracy of what you read? Popularity contests? Ok, just checking. LOL.
BTW the true popular vote on LJS being able to act has him as a very good young actor, so your criteria is skewed.
MY whole deal, which you obviously didn't understand at all, was the lack of support for her statement. She gives no reasons for saying LJS's acting was bad in this, just said so. Out of the blue. That's ridiculous. I'm so tired of people spouting off on all sorts of subjects with no background in them, nothing that supports their conclusions, and then whining that their ideas are 'just as good' as someone who actually HAS an informed opinion! No, your baseless 'feeling' is NOT as good as a measured examination of the question which results in a conclusion!

Then neither are YOU - yet you seem to think you can bash ME PERSONALLY. I'm just ridiculing an unsubstantiated opinion, not a person. You FAIL to understand that and still rant on at me! YOU DO NOT HAVE SPECIAL RIGHTS here, honey.
really saw a lot of potential in this drama, but the plot got unnecessarily complicated and draggy after episode…
Okay - WHAT makes this drama draggy for you? It had plot twists in every episode! I simply do not understand those who are saying this, and every time I've asked I get attacked instead of getting an answer.
You can't be hostile to me and drag personal attacks into a discussion of a drama and then have the gall to act as if that's what I'm doing! You totally fail to address the points I put forward, and you are defending your opinion not by talking about why you believe you are correct (using the DRAMA) but by attacking me for asking you to support your opinion! Now that is ignorant.

To Shineean: Unsupported, off-the-wall opinions that don't seemed based in reality - ones where I truly have NO idea why the person holds it and am not given any clues - well that's a very unimpressive opinion. Guess what? If she gets to bash LJS in such a fashion, I get to bash her making the comment!!! That's how forums like this work.

Beautiful Swan (also referencing Shineean): You two are ridiculous. I totally explained myself, but you chose to ignore everything I said. Your ignorance is showing, dear - I obviously am not upset about negative comments - just stupid, unsupported hater types. Responding to attacks does not turn me into a defensive person any more than the above diatribes from both of you negate your opinions. Lack of reference and supporting examples from the drama in question do that.

I'm not sensitive - I simply despise what passes for criticism nowadays. I like intelligent debate and that is immensely difficult to come by.
This drama had a very meaningful theme - the nature of reality - and the line between reality and fantasy - our own created fantasies and the ones we read or watch.
Now some people obviously feel the writers failed to convey this, that their treatment of the subject was shallow, inconsistent, contrived, or difficult to apprehend. Another criticism I've read all over the web has to do with the effectiveness of the ending, and whether it really gave closure to the questions raised in the drama.
These comments from people who obviously watched this thoughtfully interest me, although I drew different conclusions.
As for not talking about it because it ended (wow, a scant 4 or so days ago) LOL You realize that there are works of fiction that have been discussed for hundreds of years. I laugh. The fact that so many people are having such interesting discussions about this drama shows that it's not some shallow fly-by-night type of throwaway entertainment, but a work that, flawed or not, managed to really get people involved and thinking :D
