I am old enough to remember all this, and decided not to watch this drama. It would be too hard for me, as I have…
Thank you, my friend. 💕 🌸💕

It's taken me three years to work up the courage to watch this. I cried so many tears for those children back then. I'm claustrophobic, too, and had to fast forward through a few of the underwater diving scenes. We have a friend who is a rescue diver who nearly lost his life in dark murky water, it's truly a dangerous milieu to work in.

thank you you've identified exactly the problem with their relationship I totally agree. It was more of a codependent…
Exactly! I've seen age gaps works in dramas and real life. This relationship felt empty and with a bit of discomfit as well. In the special episode he treated her more like a child who needs to use the hamper. Japanese dramas are rarely squeamish, but they never showed them being tactile or loving maybe because he did look so much older, which didn't help their cause of selling a romantic relationship.

Review Samurai Wolf
Reminiscent of Kurosawa’s Yojimbo - oh, I’ll def have to check this out when I'm in the mood for samurai films!
I thought it was fun. Not Kurosawa and Mifune but still pretty good for 1966.

Me either. 📱 ❌I had a friend who was on a church bus with a bunch of widows. She asked if any of them would…
Indeed.

Review The Widow
"Higuchi spent their dinners talking about himself and taking phone calls"I don't even tolerate friends who do…
Me either. 📱 ❌

I had a friend who was on a church bus with a bunch of widows. She asked if any of them would want to remarry. Not one of them did. Not every woman is desperate for constant male companionship. And are more choosy when they do.

"Or fast-forwardable. Or skippable." LOL. I think I'll go for not ever after reading your review.
If you want to see a few new bits for supporting characters it’s worth fast forwarding through, especially for people who loved the drama. Or if a person doesn’t want to watch 9 eps, it’s a great Cliff Notes, but otherwise skippable. Or fast forwardable. Though I’m pretty sure that’s not a real word. 😄

Review Dikit
Sounds like some warped attempt at population control.😅
I wondered how much the population went down in her territory. She was a busy beastie!

I like the actors but this sounds like something I'd be slogging through. Good review!

Currently on Tubi-dubbed
There are at least 3 versions on YT, one of which is subbed. BUT it's badly cropped and the faded white subs often disappear against a faded background.
So, pick your poison.

Thanks for the review. This film sounds intriguing. I'll choose it for my next week's movie. You write a very clear…
Thank you for your kind compliments. 😊

Just a heads up, it is slow and travels to the beat of its own drum, much like Pickle’s offbeat rhythm as a drummer for funeral processions. 😄
