My rating went down because of the final twist. I could go with the twisted revenge up until then and then they lost me. The production values and tight writing were good as well as the acting.

I was fine with the 1979 setting and didn’t think it needed to be in the present. My point was that I’ve seen dramas set in the present where housewives have to suppress their emotions when their husbands have affairs and they stay with the cheaters due to societal and financial pressures. That part didn’t feel very different. I was subtly trying to say that things haven’t changed that much.

There are people more committed to their identity politics than they are compassion and understanding. Closed minded people are far more dangerous than anyone deemed “different.” Some days it feels like they’d be okay with going back to stoning and burning. There were two characters that were a bit of trial, acting like Kuro was worse than the real swindlers though one was in love with him and the other seemed to envy him. I tended to ignore them. The rest of the drama was entertaining.
