Apparently this was his major inspiration. It’s been awhile back but I think I read he might have used some of the music? It’s been ages since I watched KB so I couldn’t say for sure although this has my curiosity peaked.

It’s not long though it did drag in the middle. Maybe it was the beginning of the trope of forgetting to use the woman a title was named after?

If your dad likes wuxia this would be a fun one to see. So many of these old films didn’t survive to the present time. It’s a nice bit of history.

These two were amazing together. Their body language spoke volumes. The question I have is did they finally consummate their love offscreen right before he left and was that his child?

Zhang Yi Mou is one of my favorite directors. I suspect there were too many cooks in the kitchen on this flick. I hope you are able to find it inexpensively on Prime in your region. ^^

I rented it on Prime. If you enjoyed the part you watched you might like how they wrapped it up. I found it to be an average fish out of water and now the fish has to help fight aliens movie. 😄

Seriously, if there is going to be a giant monster we need to see it. All of it, not just the impossibly long tentacles 🐙

What an interesting article. Thank you! Older people have all sorts of personalities and traits just like younger people. Are still viable and vital. It’s always nice when they are portrayed positively and when they get a little romance of their own! 😀

The second half was entertaining. Really helps if you’ve seen the first one because there is no help in identifying characters otherwise.
