This is a really late reply. Raymond Burr was in the film version released in the US. His scenes along with any other Americans and English speaking Japanese were added into the original while some parts were edited out of the original and of course they dubbed it in English. I've also seen that version which I lovingly call the Perry Mason "Case of the Kaiju Gojira". ๐ The original is superior and worth a watch if you liked this one. I just finished a rewatch of the original on HBO MAX.
The worst edited kaiju film I've seen or at least tried to watch was King Kong vs Godzilla which was recently on Svengoolie. The original was pretty bad as well.
