Title Legend of Fragrance Spoiler
This drama ended so abruptly it felt like they'd run out of film. It seemed the women suffered and paid for the men's sins.

Somehow the ML and FL were able to quickly forgive and put behind them that Ning Hao Tian had been responsible for both of their mothers' deaths, he'd tried to have the FL killed as a child, drove the FL's father to snap and kidnap another child and go on a revenge train, his actions caused another woman to be kicked out and divorced by her husband, he also kidnapped a child to get his way at one point, and to top it off kidnapped 12 women. But now he's sorry and we have to be filial. please.

Wen Shi Xuan kidnapped 6 women, screwed his family and country over and all the little farmers, tried to have his brother killed on several occasions, caused his wife to nearly die in childbirth. But he's sorry. again. please.

This drama could be as entertaining as it was irritating. The scenery, costumes, and settings were gorgeous though. And lots of butterflies which was the only reason I watched this. Well, and William Chan. Love Tiffany but she could not pull off playing an 18 year old.

For me this was as waste of time. Only watched it because I'm on a butterfly kick. Except for the final fight scene most of the fight scenes were shot in the dark and it was hard to see anything. The only redeeming quality it had for me was the bad guys had butterflies painted on their spiky spinny shields.

Not bad for a 1970's martial arts film and I like how it focused on the competency of the FL and her female friends. The ending downgraded the score for me.

Nice article and way to think outside the box. :) Sounds interesting, but going from hot to chaste love scenes might be a bit of a downer for me. I'd have to think of it as an altogether different time travel romance.

Thank you!OAL showed me that, but I ended up copying the challenge list into a Word document and color coded each…
On it! Already started my Butterfly movie/drama list. ;)

Oh, this is nice. I wonder if I should make list also for the challenge. Have you tried 52 week challenge? It's…
Thank you!

OAL showed me that, but I ended up copying the challenge list into a Word document and color coded each category, then printed it out. I added suggestions for each entry and then like in my challenge gave them a star or just marked through them. Basically, old school on paper or in Word. :) My Challenge is crazy looking now because I've been through it twice so the color coding is largely gone.

If you scroll down you'll see the kaleidoscope my challenge has become :D

Right now I'm just watching whatever I want and seeing where or if the dramas/movies fit into any of the entries. Basically for giggles and grins. ;)

Editing, story, and cinematography were all over the place. Camera work was crude at times. Many of the fight scenes were creative, some were over the top. Most importantly for me-Michelle Yeoh and Donnie Yen were in it. Love them. :)

Review The King: Eternal Monarch Spoiler
I didn't skip episodes, though I did use x2 speed them because they were draaaaggggggggyyy ;D
I just think it's funny that you think your definition of "properly" watching is the one everyone should go by. haha

I looked over @Xingback's profile this morning. She's watched 771 dramas, shows, and movies, written 99 reviews and has either written or been a part of 9 articles for the main page, she has 3818 edits under her belt and has been a member for 4 1/2 years. She has a good enough eye for dramas that she can watch 98% of a drama and determine whether she liked it or not. And can also give you valid reasons why she thinks it either did or did not work. You have been a member for 3 days. What I'm hearing from your bordering on harassment comments is, if she'd watched every second of TKEM she would have loved it and appreciated it the way you did. Unfortunately, that's not the way it works. Everyone has different likes and dislikes. She and I may not have agreed on every drama but we understand how to respect the other's opinion and not try to minimalize the other's viewing experience.

On MDL there is no rule for how many minutes or episodes of a drama you have to watch in order to write a review. I won't be responding to any further comments, I'm going to believe you simply didn't understand proper etiquette and that's why you kept coming on here repeatedly belittling @Xingback's process and opinion whether it was in fun or not.

I watched this drama and gotta tell you I had a very similar reaction to @Xingback and agree with her review, regardless of whether she skimmed a few cheesy scenes and the endless flashbacks. She's not obligated to watch dramas the way you feel they should be watched in order to write a review.

With the exception of Ashes of Love (and on paper it looked like it was written especially for me), I'm always right there with you on your drama loves so I'm willing to take the leap on some of your suggestions. Thanks for another great article!

I enjoyed the comradery among the actors and Alberto's family and friends. It was fun to see some of the people in his home town experiencing Korean food for the first time. A nice show, but the episodes were too long for me. They could easily have clocked in under an hour and not lost anything. Some of the pop-up comments could seem too cutting, especially when focusing on women eating or calling Sam lazy (although after the first couple of episodes that did stop).
On Ugly Duckling Series: Pity Girl Jun 5, 2020
I thought the premise of the drama sounded interesting but couldn’t make it through one episode. The FL’s acting is the worst I’ve ever seen and the character cries constantly or at least she is trying to. Either way my pain threshold isn’t high enough to watch this.

Title Cain and Abel Spoiler
The drama dragged badly in the last two episodes and his murdering adoptive mom and brother did not earn a redemption arc. A lot of tears from the major players but I felt nothing for the contemptable two and the -ex Kim Seo Yeon who swept the brother's diabolical murdering plans for her ex-lover under the rug. Keep crying me a river honey, because I don't feel any sympathy for you or him. I really needed Lee Cho In to have a more satisfying ending. Never felt any chemistry other than brother/sister between him and Oh Yeong Ji. The whole drama was a heck of a ride right up until the last couple of episodes when it finally went off the tracks for me.
