This movie seems to be one people either like or don’t. After seeing its low score on several sites I went into it apprehensively. When I saw the interviews with the grown children at the end of the movie it cemented why it was made and it helped determine my score. But you might think it’s a 6. 😄

They did change the ending and it was awful. In fact, they put a propaganda message for the Chinese railroad in it! No version can top the Glenn Close movie. The cast and story were stellar and mesmerizing in that one. No comeuppance for the the Marquise in this one.
I have yet to watch the second season. To be honest, I would have been okay with the S1 wrap-up. I'm happy your article is finally out. Superb job as always!

Thank you. ^^ Seven is not a too low a rating for me. It means average. The story and acting were below average for me and the animal killings bumped it down, but the sheer enthusiasm from the cast bumped the score up. And of course, Jet Li.

Bolliante was pretty freaky looking when she evolved. *shudder* Big G was funny when he heard her siren's call, he was like, "How you doin'?" And then the freaky tentacles started attacking him and I think he decided she wasn't his type. ;)
No problem. ^^ As evidenced by someone else’s answer it could be considered a HE, but the fact he will continue to go downhill made it a sad ending to me even if they were together. It was an interesting movie if you decide to watch their journey.
He wakes up but he will continue to decline. There’s no cure for his form of dementia where he will continue to lose his memories. The HE for the main couple will be fleeting at best.
