Bummer. I like watching the ahjussi hitter. If it was going to be bad and underdeveloped, at least it was short? πŸ˜…

Honestly, sometimes that’s enough. Fun action with a supernatural element!

Movie’s premise sounds interesting and from your review that they did it justice.

And his brand of comedy with a high body count ushered in copycats. 90% of the old kung fu plots were thin scaffoldings…
So much is CGI and camera work/editing now. Anyone can look like a kung fu master. I read one time that Sammo wasn't afraid to connect with his fists and kicks during fight scenes. A terrifying proposition for his opponents I'm sure. πŸ˜„

With the exception of a few actors in this movie, the majority did their own stunts. They certainly didn't have the safety standards required today. I think about Michelle Yeoh falling off that car in Police Story or jumping off the bridge and hurting her back. 🫣

Time flies! Hard on their mom when they were deployed I bet.

Most Jackie Cheung flicks from that era was just a shoddy excuse for fight scenes.🀣🀣🀣
And his brand of comedy with a high body count ushered in copycats. 90% of the old kung fu plots were thin scaffoldings for the fights. Most of the movies and people I added to the DB were these martial arts movies and actors/stuntmen. Regardless of how low budget they were I feel a connection to them for all the research I had to do on them.

Made for interesting side chatter. After literally hundreds of times, he was once rapelling out of a helicopter and the line slipped out of his hand. The newbie below wasn't paying attention who was supposed to belay him. Only through sheer strength and luck did he stop his free fall. He also had to tackle a newbie who wasn't paying attention and was walking behind the helicopter where the rotor blades were spinning. Kid would have been chopped up. πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

Tyvm. At this point I am used to it. Everything on the first couple pages has to be 9 and above and I only rate…
I almost never give 9s anymore so I’m really sunk. πŸ˜‚

Your reviews are always informative and beautifully written. You have a gift!

I am always amazed at how MDL drama cults can sink a review. You have the third most likes and I found your review buried on the second page. Baffling. I will take your critical and informative reviews over β€œit’s a masterpiece” any day. πŸ¦‹πŸ’•

I found your review more entertaining than 2/3rds of the drama πŸ˜‚
Thank you. 😊

It did have some draggy moments. My red editing pen was getting itchy. 😁

Such a good and apt review like always! πŸ‘ŒπŸ»I love the amusing character descriptions from secret science…
Thank you so much! πŸ¦‹πŸ’•

I loved these two characters, especially that she had growth in a revenge drama without losing herself in the process. And who wouldn’t love a secretly nerdy Satoh! πŸ€“πŸ’–πŸ”₯
