Personally, I loved everything about Derailment. Including the chemistry between leads. They sold an atmosphere of deep affection really well, imo. It was even one of my favourite ML performances. His character was so well written. I hate to say it, but it's usually the male characters that ruin stories for me. CDrama has a bad habit of creating crybaby MLs, particularly in costume dramas. Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with the ML crying, provided the drama gives a good reason.
I haven't seen her new romance that has everybody talking for all the wrong reasons. As others have mentioned, perhaps it's simply a casting issue. LHC although beautiful, is perhaps not suitable for romance or more specifically, romantic comedies. Maybe she just wasn't the right fit for that particular drama.
Miscast actors often don't succeed in roles that don't fit their strengths. Similar to how talented actors can't save bad scripts. Good performances usually come with complimentary factors where everything works in concert to achieve magic on screen.
There are examples in film of actors excelling in certain roles, but not being as convincing / believable in others. Russell Crowe, for example, excels at hypermasculine, brutish tough guy, and leader of men roles (Gladiator / Master and Commander: Far Side of the Word / L.A. Confidential). However, I found him laughable in his portrayal of John Forbes Nash Jr. in "A Beautiful Mind" (I can't believe he was nominated for an Oscar for that role. Lol). He's perfectly believable as a military genius, but I'll never buy him as a mathematical genius. Another great example is Hollywood legend James Stewart, one of my favourite male actors from the golden age. He was a brilliant and versatile actor. But, I always had trouble buying him as a cowboy or frontiersman. He just didn't suit those roles. It's accurate to say he was a better all-round actor than John Wayne, but he simply couldn't play a cowboy better than Wayne. Possibly only Eastwood could match JW in a western film (I still choose Wayne). In fact, the only James Stewart western I truly love is "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance." Not surprisingly, TMWSLV is also a John Wayne film. Wayne is the tough guy of the west, and Stewart is an educated man who struggles to understand their ways.
In summary, I believe LHC is a phenomenally talented actress, but she's not going to be suited to everything. No actor ever is.

If it's not confirmed, it's not worth worrying about that much. Weibo always has wild rumours and gossip circulating around. I can't even confirm if she's actually in the new Stephen Chow film (Shaolin Women's Soccer). When it comes to Ai Mi we know a career push / launch is coming (like Tian Tian, Ancy, and Jinmai before), but she gets name-dropped and attached to all sorts of things. You learn to wait for official confirmation before getting too excited.

Weibo was ablaze with heated discussion earlier in the year regarding a potential pairing of Ai Mi and Liu Xueyi in Love Travels Through Time. It was even mentioned on an international Asian drama news site. But, these proved to be just rumours and when the cast was announced, the leads were Li Hongyi and Yang Yutong. I'm wondering if this is just gossip-mongering to stir up trouble for both actors.

Linda Blair played Regan in The Exorcist. It was a terrific performance. Sissy Spacek gave an equally good performance in the movie Carrie, another film from the 70s.
Wow! Everything a life drama is supposed to be. It is a beautiful journey through a landscape of emotions, but ultimately uplifting and inspiring. I cherished every moment of this show. Packed full of outstanding performances, every character feels familiar, and like someone you've met before. If you love dramas like Northward, I highly recommend giving this drama a watch and experiencing it for yourself. You won't regret it. ❤️

OK. That's the one I'm looking forward to the most. She looks very powerful. It has to be said, the performances of all the ladies playing villains in TSROIO have been first-rate. Starting with Ping Ting while being controlled and prompted to kill.

I'm not sure. I was wondering if she was the lady with the red eye from the trailer. But I just went back and watched the trailer again. The lady with the red eye looks different. Although the angles aren't perfect, so it's tough to say for sure. Maybe it is her.

I just loved the scene where we first saw her perched atop of the building, dark and mysterious, like some creature of the night hunting for prey. A figure who instantly captures the imagination. Reminded me of films like The Crow and the great old anime of the 90s.
