All done. I didn't get the express as there were other shows on my watchlist starting to offset the wait for Youku to drop the final episodes of Zang Hai at the regular rate. I just stayed away from this page until completion to avoid spoilers. It seems quite a few things we discussed / predicted came true. Outstanding drama. It's the kind I'll come back to and watch again.

7 down. I'm really enjoying this on the back of Zang Hai. Great change of pace and scenery. It's good to see Youku delivering back-to-back quality after a sluggish start to the year. I've bookmarked Chen Cheng's profile page. I'm really impressed by her performance as Ping Ting. From innocent to menacing in a heartbeat. ARP's character is revealing himself to be quite fascinating and mysterious. I should have guessed it with two character identities listed next to his name. I also enjoyed the boys-squad and girls-squad interactions. This show really is a lot of fun as an adventure should be.

She's nailing her role as Ping Ting in TSROIO. Her performance is terrifying. I'm going to keep my eye on her. She's talented, and young, too (DOB ~ 2003).

Wow! Episodes 11 and 12. Now we're talking. Action and progression that's what I've been waiting for. I was worried they were going to take the minimalist approach and try to sustain the story with blood spit and tears. Never a good idea for dramas with 30–40 episodes. It looks like we've turned the corner and achieved a milestone. I'm glad. Looking forward to the next episodes. 👍😊

I love NW. It's a 10 / 10 drama for me. So, I've been looking for more modern life dramas, too. Coincidentally, I had also been looking for another Ren Min drama to watch after seeing her in RON. I really enjoyed her performance. I think I've stumbled across a drama that ticks both boxes. It's a 2023 Youku drama called Ray of Light. I looked into it further, and it has a Douban score of 8. It achieved the 10000 heat index on Youku. It has a rating on MDL of 8.2, and it was broadcast on CCTV-1. It stars Ren Min (obviously), and Guo Jingfei from Drifting Away (Jinmai's 2024 Light On crime drama). I've finally cleared the war comedy / drama I was watching, so I've freed up time to start watching this now. I think it's also the type of drama you're after. You might want to look it up on MDL.

Completed 5. I love every aspect of this drama. I'm all caught up in it. I've found myself enjoying a lot of modern dramas this year. China is starting to get more than a little good at them. Action-packed and mysterious, creepy and dark, light and funny, and a little romantic, it has it all. Enjoying the acting. CC playing Pingting, is putting in a terrifying performance. ARP's comedic timing and expression can't be matched. SWL is the quintessential charismatic lead; the camera loves him. And, LHC has been brilliant. She's melting hearts with that gorgeous smile and kicking ass with lethal skills. Admiring those fashionable PJs, lol.

I am currently watching "The Seven Relics of Ill Omen," and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. But, while watching, I couldn't help but think, how is it possible that one of the most physically fit, strong💪, and athletic men in Cdrama doesn't have one or two of these modern action adventure dramas lined up for him? I literally can't think of anyone more perfect for this type of role than WXY 🤔.

I love these costumes. It's all so good looking. Saw the Xingyue powerful walk and smile on weibo. Very charismatic.

I found this comedy / drama hard to get into. It could've been something really beautiful, and at times, it was deeply moving. However, it would've been much better served as a realistic drama with moments of natural humour embedded in the interactions between characters. The over-the-top style of humour gets old fast and makes even 24 episodes difficult to get through. The final episode, by contrast, is exactly how the entire show should have been structured. It contained powerful real drama with touching moments of organic humour. The forced humour found throughout the majority of the show never warms the heart, and only serves to diminish the dramatic impact. It's a shame because the OST is beautiful, and the actors are extremely talented and capable. Sadly, ASS is best described as a missed opportunity.

Yes, they could. If they wanted to release two CDs, they could do that, too. But, generally they don't. TSROIO (title & acronym update, lol) is airing now and it doesn't look low budget. I really think they'll wait. But, LAC could definitely be next. 🤞

Lol. Youku is the cruellest of all platforms. They are more likely to lock it in the vault than give it an express release. I want it so badly. I naturally love a darker style.

So far, Feud is my reverse MM. I hated the MM trailer due to the heavy comedy. I originally had no intention of watching it. But, I ended up giving it a try when I became dissatisfied with the Youku drama I was watching (TBL). I instantly fell in love with it. I was about 13 -14 episodes behind everyone, and ended up frantically binging in an effort to catch up. I even put the other drama on hold and finished it later. Feud has been the opposite for me. I was mega-hyped by the cast and trailer, but it failed to pull me in and immerse me in the fantasy world. I'll finish it. It's not unwatchable, but I'm viewing it more as light entertainment rather than deeply connecting to it. That could all change. We will have to wait and see. But becoming engrossed in a drama is an organic process; it can't be forced.

I really loved the first 3 episodes. Looking forward to more. SWL, LHC, and ARP all look comfortable and natural in their roles. ❤️

I didn't suggest that the writers would read that comment. I said the post was a valuable critique and that valuable critiques, if read by the right people and taken into consideration, can serve as good feedback and be used to improve the output, performance or product. These are the type of critical comments we want on MDL. Not the "ML is ugly," or the "FL can't act" variety we often see.
