The whole ep dragged and like pretty much nothing had happened, so I do feel like either it was a different writer…
If only we knew answers to all those questions... I sincerely hope we'll get a proper set of rules explained, not just your typical "it happened just because". I hate bringing up this example, but Born Again had the stupidest things happening not only with reincarnations but a characters actually came back to life and that was't explained AT ALL. So now I try to keep my bar as low as possible so I wouldn't be so disappointed, but if something like that happens here... well, that would be a shame.
The whole ep dragged and like pretty much nothing had happened, so I do feel like either it was a different writer…
You know what? It could be. Since like, 70% of what happened was shot in the same location. But I still feel like even with restrictions like that, they could've done something to actually move the plot and flesh out the world-building. Instead of having a comic relief party, why not spend that time and give us more information on Alice and how their organising works? I still don't understand what rules for time travel used here and we're at the halfway point.
I don't find these scenes romantic AT ALL. I kind of like that the writer is using these cliché romance scenes…
I agree with you. In dramas we're just so used to seeing those scenes between romantic partners, that it's not surprising why most people feel weird about it. But in real life we're much more affectionate with our friends and people we care about and that doesn't have to involve any romantic feelings.
I am 90% certain that a different writer stepped in to write this episode. You don't drop the quality of something…
The whole ep dragged and like pretty much nothing had happened, so I do feel like either it was a different writer or the main was just extremely rushed. That's why I don't like the whole "let's write and shoot everything as we air" concept. I much prefer a completed script and good amount of time for post production.
Coming here after Dark is kinda... I donno. That show messed me up and I feel like now I judge every time travel…
I agree. But since it's a k-drama, I'm not surprised. With Dark, there was also the point where everything makes sense only once you know the full picture, but as you go along - it's was confusing af. I can only wish something similar will happen here, but let's be honest, my hopes aren't that high xD
Same! I'm so confused about the mechanics of time travel in this one and so far we had only some scapes of information…
I'm still waiting for more information because so far I have no idea how the time travel works here. There're too many pieces that just don't fit together and I need an explanation on screen xD So far it seems like Alice is located in some time loop, but that raises the questing where (or rather when) all those people who work there are from? In the first ep it was said time travel succeeded travelling through time in 2050 - does that mean everyone there are from that time? Then OG TY can't be the kid in 1992, right? Yet they have the same name, look and even food preferences. So it must be a multiverse, but then why do Alice clients go back into the world we follow? So many questions and not enough answers. I hope the writer will be able to pull it off and not get lost in his own ideas.
I also agree with your points about TY and Alice. I think the meeting 10 years ago really was insignificant for TY. Or we're just completely throwing off butterfly effect out of the window.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see. No need to exhaust our minds guessing.
My only problem is even if she is not her mother, she is exact replica of his mom.......ewwww, how can you like…
There's actually a physiological explanation for stuff like that, it's not that uncommon. Mommy and daddy issues are a thing and it's pretty messed up. But in this drama, I don't see that happening. Jin Gyum, as a person with alexithymia, doesn't even understand the whole concept of "liking" someone. And as for Tae Yi, I think she's not used to having someone to care for her and protect her, but I don't think she has any romantic feeling for a guy. I also think societal perception plays a big part. Like, we're not used to seeing a man being nice to a woman without any ulterior motive, so we automatically assume they have one. I think it's on us, as a society.
I kinda agree. But then again I don't have a good record with drama characters being complex, so I'm not surprised.…
Do you mean his emotions every time he sees his mom? Cuz that's kinda the point. Other than that I feel like everything he does is purely logical and he learn the behaviour by observing and mimicking others.

Oh, I don't care about the romance in this one. Just like I didn't care for any relationships in Dark (I did really liked the characters, so it was a struggle). I'm just interested in what rules of time travel they'll use. So far we only had some scraps of information, but I need to see the full picture. I NEED IT xD
I feel like people see what they wanna see. Personally I don't see anything romantic between Tae Yi and Jin Gyum.…
I guess I worded it wrong. I think the issue is that we're used to seeing all those scenes in a romance plot in dramas, so it's unusual to consider it in a platonic way. But if we think about real life for a second - people can care for each other without any romantic intentions. We're just not used to see male/female interactions in dramas without a romance plot.
People see what they wanna see. I guess that's why the shipping culture so popular.
I don't know. Maybe it's because k-dramas typically have a romance in the centre of a plot, so when people see two characters together in a scene, they automatically put them into "romance" box.
Aside from a rather confused plotline, the characters lack depth and impact. They're pretty much two dimensional.…
I kinda agree. But then again I don't have a good record with drama characters being complex, so I'm not surprised. I do love how Joo Won portrays a person with alexithymia, it seems really genuine and believable.
