Title Missing: The Other Side Spoiler
Anyone suspecting Kim Wook is her grandson, and Lee JongAh is Jang PanSeok's long lost daughter?
I feel like that's a common theory. And that's exactly why I hope it wouldn't be the case. Way too predictable and convenient. I wouldn't be mad about it since I love the characters, but plot-wise it would be much smarter to fool the audience into thinking one thing and then have a plot twist.

I'm so glad to have this drama back! Each ep just makes me love it more and more.
Yeo Na letting go of that guy is understandable, given how desperate she is, but man, that was selfish... I hope her fiance would arrest him for extortion - that man deserved to be in jail.

My problem with THAT trope is the fact how romanticised it is in dramas. When it real life I can't imagine anything…
We all have a different perception. All the things you described as positives, I see as the things I hate in writing. I need more realisms to enjoy fiction. If the narrative tells me "oh, you can just forget all your past trauma and have a blank slate", I say "hell no, I KNOW it doesn't work like that". I know too well how hard it is to deal with a trauma and to see easy fixed like super convenient memory loses feels like a joke. Or ever worse, zero accountability. Instead of having your character actually deal with his struggles and answer for his mistakes, you just let him go having no responsibility for his actions.
I understand why such ending was chosen - it's all about escapism and having and illusion of "happily ever after", I get it. That just doesn't work for such cynic as me.

That's exactly my problem with the trope. It's an easy way out. Instead of giving a character proper redemption arc and make them actually work for it, it's much easier to either kill them off as a "hero" or use the amnesia trope. It's lazy and convenient way to end a character arc and that's why I don't like it.

My problem with THAT trope is the fact how romanticised it is in dramas. When it real life I can't imagine anything more terrifying that to losing who I are and erasing everything that shaped you.
Plus when it's paired with mental issues, that just like putting a band-aid on a broken bone. Memory repression isn't a way heal from trauma, it's just a way to pretend it's not there for a time. But sooner or later that dam will fall.

I wasted my time watching this drama not for me
I feel that. Dropped it around ep 10 and till the last moment hoped it would go into some direction that would interest me so I could finish this one, but I guess not ? Probably just gonna skim the rest and be done with it.
Good for people who enjoyed it tho.

Age difference, camera angles, sexually explicit scenes... there was a lot. I didn't even start it since I saw a scene where a high school girl kisses a random-30-years-old-dude, so I was like "nope, thank you".

That's also true. Public's attention span isn't really that high. But I still think companies should be more careful and not play with fire. You never know what's the breaking point could be, so it's better not to risk it and be more safe.

I'm not talking about the ratings, but the public images. Backstreet rookie got them into trouble with KCSC after the petition, now viewers aren't happy again. If doesn't even have to be a huge number of people, if they're loud, it could do a serious damage to the company's image.

SBS really messing up this years, aren't they? xD First Backstreet rookie and now this... They might need to revisit their cafeterias for picking up dramas and pay better attention to what's being put on their platform and how that can potentially effect their image.
I, personally, don't see any romantic tension between leads, but when you're using the same romance trope that every other drama uses, you HAVE TO understand how people might view it. It's not high science.

I saw the spoilers about a memory loss, so I guess amnesia is the way to solve your mental problems xD Good to know. Why waste years in therapy when you can just hit your head the right way xD I love dramas.

100% agree.
I still haven't long my interest in the story (and eps 8-10 are usually a breaking point for me), so I'll try to maintain some hope for a good resolution. I don't have to like it, I just really want it to make sense.

It's like a light versing of Dark family tree. I love it xD
I also think it was smart to walk away from the conversation where no one is listening. Sometimes we forget that we're responsible only for our own opinions and we shouldn't force them on anyone else. I think it became extremely hard not to forget that in our current "if you're not with us, you're against us" mentality. We all should work better on ourselves.

Can someone please spoil me just this one aspect?
Did ML get therapy by the end or was he just magically cured by "the power of love"?

I lost interest in the story by ep 10 and I'm still deciding whether I should invest 6 hours of my life to finish it or if I should just skim and look for what I can use later for editing xD

That's exactly why I fell into the rabbit hole of how and when the whole perception changed. It makes perfect sense from the scientific point of view - if you mix close DNA, it causes problems. And it got me wondering, is a concern for future generations is that made us be disgusted by the concept? Or is it the fear of disobeying the rules of religion and society? Why are we even grossed out by something that doesn't involve us personally? I know most of those questings are purely rhetorical, but it's still nice to have a discussion.

All this "incect" controversy made me question how the societal response came to be. I'm sure science played a huge part in showing how dangerous inbreeding is. And I wonder if it's fear that made the society disgusted by the idea or if there's something else. Did anyone ever question why we feel a certain way about "taboo" topics? I'd love to have a discussion if anyone's interested.
