Giving up on trying to make sense of it all was the best decision I've made regarding this drama xD Once I stopped caring for all the ridiculous plot twists (if you can call it that), it's actually quite a fun watch. I absolutely ADORE acting here. I always knew Joo Won was good, but DAMN. How I've missed him. I was right when I suspect this drama would be a good choice to show his acting range. He's absolutely killing it.
as long as he looks like a high school student and good in his acting, his real age is just a number.. doesn’t…
I'm actually fine with age gaps of any sorts irl as long as both parties are at least in their late twenties. From what I've noticed over the years, true maturity comes only after a few years of "adult life" where you have to fend for yourself completely (food, living, taxes, etc). I've seen lots of exceptions, but usually it's 25+
And it's okay, I do feel like an old lady for the past few years. That kinda happens when you stop hanging out with people who can party all night because you have a 12-hours work shift 5 times a week ?

I think that's my main issue with the subject. As long as people look a certain way - we let them get away with anything. If only that was only a thing that happens in acting, I'd be fine with it. But unfortunately it translates into real life and that's what infuriates me. Guess I'm just an old lady who takes everything way to seriously and can't simply watch something for escapism. Wouldn't recommend being me xD
Acting is acting. I was in theater productions and no one cared if 15 year old portrayed an old woman, or if guy…
I wish I could. Some things my brain just can't overlook and it's annoying as hell. Especially in situations like this one, when it's obvious I'm focused on something normalized by the society. So even bringing up this conversation doesn't do me any good and yet I can't help it.
I feel the same way! Im a bit hesitant to start the drama because of this. I just check for updates hoping that…
Honestly, their scenes are few and far between and don't attribute much to the story, so if you're interested in the drama premise, I would still recommend it. I find it quite enjoyable, especially the family aspect. It's just some little things that bug me off, but that's more of personal preference.
Had to google it. Wow he really is 29! Doesn't look at all. I think its fine since this love triangle involving…
I know actors don't have much say without risking ruining their reputation. Film/TV industry is a messy business. It mostly works on connections and you get hired not so much for your talent, but for being an easy person to work with. And that's exactly why I have no problem with actors (it's uncomfortable to watch for me personally, but I get that it's a job), yet I do questions for higher ups.

I guess I'm just questioning casting choice more then anything. It's definitely projecting, but once I had to act in student projects with a teen (I think he was like 5-6 years younger) and trying to portray attractions towards someone so young was extremely uncomfortable. So now every time I see a similar casting I just have one question: why? Why was such a choice made?
Do you even know he is a 29-year-old just by looking at him, if you didn't search the profile or age about him?…
I don't have a habit of guessing people's ages by appearance (hell, I still have to show my passport to buy alcohol and I'm 7 years past legal age), but once I know something, it's impossible to look past is for me. Age isn't about looks, it's about experience and maturity.
I wonder, am I the only one being uncomfortable with an age difference in actors playing high school students? Especially since there's this supposed "love triangle" plot going on. Am I really that old that an idea of 29-year-old even looking at 19-year-old in a "romantic way" makes me feel disgusted since I see teens as kids? Jeez, I'm just 25 =_=
Remember back in Ep 4 when Oh-won (Choi Won Young) said in his dissertation that multiple versions of someone…
I don't think 4 eps is enough time for a conclusion. I'm pretty sure we'll be left with tons of unanswered questions.
What I do enjoy about Alice has nothing to do with it's main premise and that's a not a very good thing tbh. I love the family dynamics (found family is my favourite trope). I really loved the friendship at the beginning between JG and DY, but unfortunately that was ruined by one-sided crush (I just wanna a good male/female friendship, please). I also grew attached to the characters and care about what'll happen to them, so I come back every week instead of dropping it like so many other dramas.
I would never compare Alice to Dark since it's like apples and oranges. It just deals with similar concepts.

I feel like the mistake was of not settings clear rules for the world earlier on. They were dropping theory after theory in conversations as a hint, but never actually explained anything. Even Dark had several points where they basically spoon fed the audience with information in order for them to understand what's going on. And it already had incredibly smart script. This one? Not so much. I'm pretty sure it would've worked much better if they stick just to time travel.
I definitely agree about the plot dragging a lot. Sometimes it feels like nothing is happening and we have a filler…
Unfortunately, I don't think so. Even if we take our all filled content, we'll be left with crumbs of a plot. That's the weakest part of this drama, in my opinion.

Multiverse is such a complex theory... it can really give a person room for speculations (scientist, writers and so on). But I feel like in fiction, you should be really careful with it. To make a compelling story, you must understand the world you're creating and then translate in on the page. Not many people can do that, even if they have good ideas - showing them in a way for others to understand it a difficult thing. I think this is why this drama has such mixed reviews.
Sure, if your doppelgangers are coming to undo something in their dimension and destroy you to steal your life,…
Only I don't like the idea of radiation making people evil when in reality it makes them really sick and huge amounts would kill you, not make you some supervillain. I know it's a popular fantasy/sci-fi trope, but as a person whose country and people had to suffer from radiation... that's just my personal pet peeve.

That's... a good theory. I had to read it twice just to wrap my head around it, but it's really interesting. We'll see what the writers do with their work, so I wouldn't mind seeing something like this.

Beats me. I wish I knew how they shoot each project, so it would help me understand. But then again, I shouldn't have to make excuses. If it's good - it's good, if not - well, it doesn't really matter why, the point stands.
