Lot of pressure on Shadow love now, because I don’t think the chemistry will be as good as this, but who knows…
I loved the male lead so much. But after this insane chemistry, I don't think I can grasp him with someone else easily. As much as I love the actor, they should give a gap of at least 1 month so that people can move on from the previous one. Releasing this now, would make people compare the two dramas.
No, I just mean after all the 36 episodes, even CZ would have wished death on himself. His life became utter failure after that. His exile, his suffering alone would be a hell for him.
Ru Fei, Ru Fei's father (only in the first few episodes, he was bad, but did not have a lot of scope later), Chancellor Xu Jing Fu (very important villain). The Wuto officials, generals, I don't know their names, but they were scattered in different episodes, basically they were the enemy country against who the leads fight. There was also a spy in the garrison, and there was a father and son in 2-3 episodes during episodes 5-10 I guess. But these were not so important. Chu Zhao was not a villain. He was annoying and clingy basically. He became worse in the last few episodes. So he was exiled.
Emperors in dramas are always annoying. Either they are bad/worse. Or utter foolish. They shout at innocents, distrust loyal people and trust disloyal ones. Never use their brain even 1%. And then when there is an treason or assassination attempt, they get so shocked. I mean you are king for a reason, at least use your brains sometimes.
My favourite Emperor has to be the one from the drama The Double. He was the nicest, understood stuff, had a good bond with the ML and was smart.
His death was not shown. He was shown in a jail, his execution order was passed. For me, all bad ones did die. Chu Zhao was annoying and did some bad stuff, but did not deserve death, so he was exiled, so I am okay with that. Also honestly, after you watch all the episodes, it would have been better for him if CZ could die. His exile, his life, all seems hell for me- a punishment more severe than death.
Rufei was to be executed. Rufei's father was jailed. Chanc Xu died of heart attack ( I guess, he suddenly fell down unconscious) in the jail. Chu Zhao was exiled.
Was Yan He one of the key support character in the novel? If yes, did he also die from war injuries?
Nope. His character was manipulative, cunning, but he never did treason. He loved He Yan and proposed to her before her marriage. He Yan rejected and he went on his way. He made Chanc Xu's daughter his concubine and lived. He never tried to stop ML and FL's wedding. Neither he gave any advice to the emperor to separate the forces of He Yan and Xiao Jue. So in the novel, Yan He's death was not on him.
CZ continued to live as an important offical probably the director of war and gained promotions throughout his life.
Was Yan He one of the key support character in the novel? If yes, did he also die from war injuries?
Yes he was one of the key support characters in the novel. He had many interactions with the leads in the novel. It had 270 chapters, so his presence was really felt. Yes, sadly he died of war injuries and his wife gave birth, just like in the drama. But Chu Zhao wasn't responsible for it as shown in the drama, or at least indicated.
Loved it. Ep 31-36 have so many beautiful heartfelt moments between the leads. The ending doesn't feel rushed. I was so happy when FL showed Chu Zhao his place and broke that gift of his. He got taste of his karma maybe a little more than what he deserved. I still want to know on what basis was he punished. To give wrong advice? I mean they should make kings also a little more wiser. Anyone gives you any kind of advice and you close your eyes and heed to it. Then you trust wrong people continuously. The king should be punished, but of course emperors are never punished.
Ah the leads I can never move on from their chemistry. This is the first drama which got me so much emotionally invested while airing. I would feel so empty from tomorrow.
Best part of the drama from my perspective is- They have too good chemistry. They support each other and the misunderstanding parts are very less, so its manageable. They have a lot of moments before as well as after official dating phase. They also get married. The action scenes throughout 36 episodes were on point. The aesthetics of the last 6 episodes, the stills, the costumes, the ending scene were all so beautiful. The kisses, hugs, scenes of moon!!
Also it kind of comes to a full circle. In the first episode, FL couldn't reach with reinforcements and in the last episode she did reach with reinforcements. Ahh my babies He Yan & Xiao Jue, I miss you already!
If Xiao Jue didn't, I would have punched Chu Zhao. Chu Zhao, I defended you, I thought you are just being misunderstood and are in delusion. I felt pity for you! How could you even think about this? At least after seeing them kiss you should have moved on. The novel Chu Zhao was better than this. My God! Hate would be less what I feel for you at the moment.
Guys I have to wait for 1 hour before it shows to me. But I just saw the preview of ep 35 and 36 and can anyone tell me what's the royal decree of ep 35 all about? Did they get married or not? Why are both of them so upset? Did Chu Zhao do something? Oh my God!
