Btw -They are making Queen Baili out to be a cartoonish one dimensional character. It’s inconceivable that a mother would poison her own son because she deems him no longer useful. The writer should have layered her with a tad of motherly instinct toward her son and shown her struggling with her evil nature not to hurt him but doing so regardless. That would make for a more interesting story.
The drama that was initially so interesting and addicting is beginning to feel a little boring. I’m in episode 22 btw. Wish they’d cut down on scenes of palace politics and focus more on the couple’s interactions and on fight scenes. They’re the strength of this drama.
I really do hope that things don’t become awkward with Mi Jung and Tae Hoon at their club meeting afterwards. They’re both introverts so I wonder if they’ll refer to her sister’s confession, or brush it aside.
I think he and she haven't realized they are creating a bond, but I also ship her with the other guy tho....but…
She does fall in and out of love pretty easily. I feel that she genuinely has feelings for Tae Hoon and that it will surprise her that she can’t get over him so easily and that love will help her grow and mature. They may never become a couple, but she will become a better person for loving him.
Mad respect for Gi Jeong after episode 8. She’s living life to the fullest and giving it her all.
And Changhee’s comments are always so on point, so insightful.
You can feel the love the siblings have for each other in today’s episode. Chang hee didn’t have to show up to witness his noona’s humiliation. But he did regardless. And when Mi Jeong teared up at the sight of her unni’s crying, I just about died there and then.
Mi Jeong & Mr Gu: - When are you going to kiss?! They really should stop tormenting the audience. Again, a missed opportunity to hug her tight and comfort her, instead he says ‘Come and eat’. Still I can’t fault the conversations in this drama they are as precious as gold.
I love all the relationships in this drama. Currently wishing that the two girls get and keep their love interests; that the brother buys his car (honestly are cars so expensive in Korea? Can’t he pay for it in installments? He has a job after all.)
And the siblings interactions are priceless! Forgive my rambling thoughts.
Honestly, the true villain of this drama is the king. Clearly he is aware of Queen Baili and Prince Ju’s machinations and constantly let’s them get away with it, with only ‘light’ punishments. The only time he really loses it, is when they make him lose face. It’s within his power to put a stop to the power struggle but he chooses not to.
The other person I really can’t stand is the general that serves Lanxi, can’t believe he has the audacity to approach BFX’s shifu to ask them to break up. I can’t wait for BFX to reveal her true identity and that will really put him in his place, as I believe she even out ranks Lanxi as she is sister to the Imperial Crown Prince. Furthermore Lanxi has clearly stated numerous times that he is not interested in Minister Feng either as a wife or a love interest. And tbh I doubt Minister Feng is in love with Lanxi, she’s merely interested in marrying him for his title and prospects. Their interactions are too business like for her to have any genuine romantic feelings for him.
My heart goes out to Prince Chang. With a mother and brother like that who needs enemies? The only one who really cares for him is his half brother, ironically. I’m really hoping for a HEA for him and keeping my fingers crossed that he doesn’t become evil due to anger and resentment; instead I hope he falls in love and sails off into the sunset with his love. Can anyone who has read the original story tell us how he ends up? Granted he’s quite a ruthless character as evidenced by how he killed all the witnesses to his episode. But I really can’t help feeling sorry for him.
Mr. Gu would have waited for Mi Jung to come back from work and asked her directly for her phone number rather…
@susky That really impressed me. It shows respect for her and for her dad, especially since her dad is his employer.
And mad respect for the dad, he asked no questions but just gave him the number. There were a million things he could’ve said at that point. But the fact that he said nothing made me respect her dad the more. Mi Jeong takes after her dad. And her dad genuinely likes Mr. Gu.
Isn’t it ironic that MJ’s colleague who can be typecast as introverted at work has no trouble chatting away with MJ’s older sister at the bar? Why do I think that the interest between both of them is mutual? Lol
