To me the female lead was perfect, you have not gotten to see things from her point of view.
This story is a favorite of mine because the female lead is not an angel.
She is perfectly flawed.
This female lead would be the second lead and bitchy ex-girlfriend in other stories and and possibly the villain.
That is why this story is so good in my opinion.
You need to watch till at least episode 3 or 4 before dropping.
There is always another side to the story
I wish other dramas did it like this
Pure villains do not exist just misunderstood and weak people

Personally, I blame the scripts. If they werent doing what the directors and screenwriters envisioned then the scenes would be reshoot or recast.

Saito Takumi is a hottie according to almost every female drama fan, I am a fan of Lee Sang Yeob and I plan to watch him in the Korean remake ASAP. I have been complaining about him not being in a lead role for years. Park Ha Sun is so angelic and pretty but she is just a plus.
Didn't see the Japanese version but I am looking forward to the Korean version.
I don't expect it to be as tragic as Secret Love Affair.
I can understand why people were surprised but when you compare to Korean movies, Secret Love Affair is very tame.
As someone who started with dramas, I was shocked too by how explicit Korean movies can be. Given all their recent industry scandals, it is fair to say that popular Korean directors are perverts haha

@Jorsias Hahaha, a case of people thinking all Korean dramas are Boys Over Flowers. For those who have watched Japanese dramas, this drama is the norm not the exception

Yeah, I intend to do that, my point is that I would probably not be interested in the dramas myself lol. I already get novels translated so I have a team of capable translators. Japanese dramas are easier though because you can easily find automatic captions.
I discovered recently that some Chinese companies like Youku are using machine translated subtitles. It is pretty pathetic

I enjoyed When The Camellia Blooms but it reminded me why I avoid all the investigative Police dramas.
The serial killer ends up getting more screen time than the leads.
I have to admit that Son Dam Bi is freaking gorgeous.
The show didn't do her justice, she was just so crazy that I had to look her up.

There is a Fukada Kyoko drama about romance being a book or something. It was so disappointing.
I get that Teacher and student dramas have the taboo appeal but it was bland and disappointing
I ended up watching Majou no Jouken as a result which was much better
The actor from the Fukada Kyoko drama was in I Got a Boyfriend With a Loan

It was so much fun. I finally finished Rental Lover after 3 years, the subs were so messed up that they skipped episode 7, I even contacted the subbing group on facebook but forgot about the show for a few years haha

I am not interested in tragedy dramas, real life is bad enough .I want my happy endings lol. I might watch police dramas if the female lead isn't a rookie.
But that's almost impossible to find

I hated this drama with a passion. The male lead was just horrible
The second couple had a nice male lead but he didnt even get the girl he wanted but got back with an ex that treated him horribly haha
