Pretty decent as far as the midnight drama goes. I was hesitating to watch this earlier because I thought it would be an "Ecchi" oriented drama. I'm fine with ecchi-route if there's generous amount of fanservice but knowing Japan TV, a drama could ended up being naughty without showing anything so it would be a useless watch...haha. I mean you better off watching other stuffs (read: JAV) if that is what you're looking for....lol
Back to this drama, I liked its serious depiction on the people who work in Delivery Health business or simply abbreviated as deriheru, where the "Health" is the codename for Fuuzoku (sex parlor that won't allow you to make sex). It is a LEGAL business (but getting paid for having sex is not) as far as I understand, but for obvious reason it's the work you can't casually tell anyone. Similar to anything in this world, every jobs come with its own risk, and this is exactly what the drama was trying to tell you about, which it did with of course some exaggeration and humor.
It's a good watch if you like Japanese work drama that promoting positive attitude towards work and take pride on what you're doing. It also has that underworld vibe a la Yamikin Ushijima franchise but at a lesser extreme. The drama is episodic but the story in each episode is interesting enough not to make you bored.

Overall this is a good entertaining watch but not necessarily a good Taiga drama. It is from the same writer who wrote Confidence Man JP and Legal High so you could expect some of the non-serious moments in the script, with lots of comedic-relief-characters. The writing was modern with that "backstory came in after some episodes" as well as "dedicated episode for the side characters" kind of style. It is fresh and if this is your first Taiga drama you would definitely like it. 48 episodes fly in a blink of eye and it's binge-worthy if you have time to spare.
However for those who are expecting historical closeness (I won't say accuracy), you might be disappointed with this series. If you're not familiar with what happened during Sengoku Era, you might not want to use this drama as your source of info. The writer changed too many things especially the characters motivations. I won't elaborate as many couldn't watch this with English Sub (yet). At the same time he had to skip too many things as well to suit the newly rewrote characters.
The one good thing about this drama is that everyone did their best in the acting. Even Matsumoto Jun did well playing the older Ieyasu role, which I didn't expect he could judging from the first few episodes. Kitagawa Keiko was the MVP in this drama....no contest!
On an unrelated note, I watched with JP caption so I might have missed lots of powerful conversations especially towards the end. Thankfully it will have Eng, Sub next year according to NGN....maybe I will re-watch again at the end of the year when the sub is complete.
it takes a talent to show tsukiyama incident, one of the most interesting and mysterious moments in ieyasu's story,…
Sorry for replying an old comment, but yeah it was such a bad writing on the incident. I watched Legend and Butterfly, which is also by the same writer and I think this writer is trying hard to include feminism element in his script. Sorry if the word feminism in my comment offended anyone.
Ironically in the Sena case, the ideal world suggested by her isn't even relatable in the modern world. It was purely naive and if alliance what she was talking about it was already done many times during their time and earlier. The writer must have been forgotten about the Takeda-Imagawa-Hojo pact.
To make things more laughable is the fact that everyone in Tokugawa was buying on the idea. I was face palming with the faking war to tricked the Odas.
Earlier before the incident there was the cliched/overused idea of "world would be at peace if women do politics". That's why I personally think this writer is forcing feminism in his writing. It's such a shame because he does good comedies like Legal High and Confidence Man...maybe he isn't good in historical writing. Yeah his politic writing is weak too.
Aloha. Where Can I Watch This With English Translation? Mahalo.
If you scroll down the comments you will find somebody shared the website of the fansubber. It's locked community that you have to join first to have access to English subtitle....that apparently isn't opened for new intake....lol
This drama wasn't bad. It has interesting premise, good cast and a potential to at least match the former 3 Nen A Gumi. However like others have mentioned, the execution was not so aligned with what most people would have in mind before watching it.
Personally I was expecting a more darker drama with lots of suspense and thrill. But they have the script that gave too much focus on the dialogues that the drama turned into preachy with some long confusing sentences (with over the top BGM during the conversation)...LOL.
The director also didn't exploit the suspense element well IMO. The first episode failed to leave an impression on me. So the 2nd and third. Only Episode 4 made me "feel" this drama. The remaining was surprisingly better though and they made up for the weak first 3 episodes. So if you want to watch this but afraid by the comments please bare in mind it will eventually become better as the episode progresses.
Overall I rated this 7/10 but that's mainly because of its poor entertainment value. The plot, dialogues, and acting were pretty good though.
This was just an average drama in my opinion. It's watchable but nothing stood out from the plot or acting performances. I don't understand the rave about it being the better drama of the season or even the year. The character was typical in any Japanese drama featuring idol. It has been done countless of time already with folks like Yamapi or Kame. Other characters were also stereotyped. The antagonist was your usual one too.
The business part was too simplistic with plot of conveniences written to make Haru's intelligence stood out. It reminds me of The Confidence Man JP, but the former was done rightly with sufficient amount of comedy and less seriousness unlike in Trillion Game. Someone recommended Liar Game. I would say Akiyama in Liar Game was way cooler without screaming "I'm your eyecandy" every single time you turn and smile. And Haru was nowhere near Akiyama in terms of intellectual. He was just making random plan in a roundabout way just to look smart for things that could've been done in a more straightforward way...lol
Overall like I said above, this drama is watchable. It has that "thing" that will pull you until the last episode. You won't waste your time if you already started. BUT at the same time, it has nothing to make you feel you're missing out if you don't watch this. Unless you've been watching series of bad dramas before come to this one, you wouldn't even call Trillion Game a hidden gem.
I like TV series about software and pirated software. Example: "Bloody Monday"Banks and large companies generally…
Haha lol...this drama requires viewer to close one eye on the technicality of things. If we want to talk logic, the very fist scene of Haru going down the building without harness is already a "cartoon"...well understandably it was a manga.
Great review! Could you recommend other recent dramas like this? Ore no Hanashi wa Nagai was similar and very…
Lol I had to revisit the page to see my review and comment.
I guess the user who recommended the drama here, @bossmama really made a good comparison between the two.
Personally I liked Spark a lot that I rated it 9/10. Konto was more episodic-styled kind of drama, while Spark was a long story divided into episodes. Konto was more on the fun, friendship, youth, side of POV. Spark was more depressing and showing harsh reality. Spark was slow paced so maybe it needs a right mood before watching.

We have our own MDL forum, but it is not as active. If you have something you might want to post there. Hopefully some users will response if the topic piqued their interest. https://kisskh.at/discussions
