Is it me or does Nagasawa Masami overact the hell outta herself on this show to the point that her facial expressions…
LOL...this show is not a SERIOUS drama...it's a "light and easy" comedy...some of the plot even did not make sense at all...like the jump off the plane scene...but why so serious when you watch a NON serious drama? Maybe you have wrong expectation before watching? About the overacting, I think it's just you. It's not UNUSUAL to have over the top acting for japanese drama.
Wow this is so amazing can't believe the overall rating is like sh**t in here! Everything is top notch slice of life drama, the cinematography is at "movie standard", except for the last scene that was a bit discomforting "visually" but by no means ruined the whole show.
Very light comedy drama. There were some over-the-top acting but not enough to annoy the viewers IMO. The opening somehow remind me of My Boss My Hero...LOL and the song sounds much like the OP of MBMH too.
Not just him but the director, music composer and other staffs from amachan are here that's why this taiga gives…
Thanks for the info! Luckily I watched Amachan just recently, so I'm sure I will feel the vibe even more. :) This makes me want to start watching it now but I hate to wait for every episodes...
Yeah this is in my PTW list but of course I will only watch it at the end of year or in 2020 when the subs already finished or maybe when the first arc finished
On the other note, I think you forgot to mention that this year taiga is written by Kudo Kankuro...if i'm not mistaken this is his first taiga drama....so his fan must be anticipating it
if you have insomnia then watching the specials might be helpful...zzzzzzz
Yeah I agree! By doing that they can highlight the student interactions more...At least they don't have to do the flashback for viewer to recall who is who.. Honestly there are some faces I only noticed during the SP...lol
The Good: 1. New style of jdrama with minimal local pop culture references (probably an attempt to attract a more global fan?) 2. The colors for actor clothes and interior designs are more daring/flashy than the usual J stuffs 3. Reducing number of over-the-top character to the main lead alone while maintaining J drama essence in terms of messages they were trying to convey
The Bad: 1. New style of comedy where you have a "long silent moment" after every joke's punch-line 2. Same as above but with overwhelming additional all over the screen, Japanese text with poor contrast color for viewer to get the joke further 3. The only ONE over-the-top character in the drama is REALLY over the top
Overall still watchable and entertaining as long as you could accept our main character as she is!
Interesting article but firstly the title is misleading when you only discussing about kdrama. Please don't get…
Sorry for the late reply. I was actually referring to a tv show as opposed to individual characteristic. I agree it's hard to tell a person's race if you just pass by in the street, but as a tv show you could easily differentiate Chinese with non Chinese in terms of language and also culture. That was what i tried to say, but yeah that last paragraph did sound like racial statement so I'm sorry about that...
That said, there are however several countries producing "chinese languages" shows (Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Macau). Therefore while you can tell the language, it's still sometimes tricky to tell its country of origin. This is where locale cultural differences play a role.
Interesting article but firstly the title is misleading when you only discussing about kdrama. Please don't get offended but IMO majority of the recent korean artists tend to look the same in the sense of their fashion, hairstyle and makeup....so at least to me that point is valid while it could easily be misunderstood as racist statement...
About unable to differentiate the countries, well it only happen to the westerner and the reason is probably the Hollywood. Yeah you will always see asian-look actors play Chinese (sometimes Japan) role in western movies/series regardless of their origin (hawaiian, filipino, vietnamese, mongolian, latin american)...lol.
For majority of (non C, J, K) asian people, we at least can easily differentiate between chinese and non-chinese....long time ago before k-wave, people might get confused/mixed Japan with Korea but they could at least tell that these two are definitely not chinese..
I thought the original GTO was definitely more famous! But maybe it no longer is as well-loved as the remake,…
haha...that's possible too....but I think Akira as Onizuka was just not right...I only watched first 2 episodes of that version but I couldn't see Onizuka in him except for the blond hair...he was too cool/calm/quiet/less-pervert to be Onizuka IMO.
I only watched anime and drama version. It's been a while after I watched the 2, but to me Light in drama lacks of few things despite being portrayed as more human (in terms of clumsiness, emotion).
Unlike anime, the drama's Light has no idealism (not that clear in drama at least for me) and he doesn't look convincing enough to be able to manipulate people (you need certain leadership quality for that even in real life). Without these 2, it would be too easy for L and makes this version of Light at the same level as Misa Misa.
On the other hand, while I don't fan Yamazaki I think his L is better in the drama. Firstly, that was a smart move considering how well Matsuyama did in the movies (I didn't watch but I know Matsuyama ability from other stuffs). Secondly, he has that "calmness" that makes you believe he is thinking ahead of his rival. In other words he has the mind of L but with an Ikemen appearance...LOL
Strangely I haven't watched the master of school drama Kinpachi Sensei....and surprisingly GTO 98 is not in the list and some of the dramas are more on college-life instead of school...
Radiation House is fresh with focus on radiology department (which is rare for medical drama), but it could backfire with the "ridiculously everyone misdiagnosed except the MC & Co" kind of plot on every episode...LOL.. still i think i will watch it if its get subbed
Maybe you have wrong expectation before watching?
