She is such a complex fascinating character to me.

The problem is that logic doesn't apply here. This is not a plot point that is left to understand later. Funny enough this could have been solved even one scene of Yan and Kang talking e.g. "Hang on a minute, how did the bandits knew about DW" and "We have spies everywhere". Even if the latter events had ended the same but I as a viewer would actually appericiate that iur lead whom they say is very clever is exactly that. And I would think, okay, even if they knew they are spies, maybe they didn't have enough time to prepare before they get ambushed etc.
Am I making sense??

That last statement made me chuckle😃. Yeah, Zhang is known for that so let's leave it to him. Oh don't get me started on him in this ep. Anywho, you just made me laugh.

Am I the only one who feels bamboozled by the writer in ep 18. Like everything seems illogical to me and this is a first for this drama. Up until this ep. Yan is portrayed as meticulous, clever and 3 steps in advance in planning and truly there are certain moments it shows and I'm impressed. So where has his brain gone to in this ep. So they arrive at this desert city (forgot the name), DuanWu gets kidnapped. The kidnappers know 1) her identity 2) that she has the blood stained pearl 3) she is someone close to him. And never does it occur to him to thinm, how do they get to know all this???🤔🤔😏 Isn't it logical to know straight away, they are spies everywhere and either, try find them or have to be more vigilant etc. Even if the result was the same but couldn't he think and talk about this to show his common sense which he has been using all along.
Okay, let's say, maybe he was too emotional when DuanWu gets kidnapped (hehe) but when that witch doctor gets killed, Isn't it more apparent that there are spies everywhere and those bandits have already infiltrated this city...
Or is my common sense not common...I don't know. The whole entire ep. I had WTH facepalm than anything else. I'm actually slightly disappointed because I had very high regard for this drama...
I will continue to watch cause well, I'm curious...haha
Especially the so called Separation and misunderstanding trope that's about to happen. Again logically speaking the only thing I can think DuanWu should be mad at him about is that Yan drugged her intending to leave her for her safety since she wanted to go die with him. Other than that what else can she be mad about 🤔 That she didn't wake up sooner...well, blame the drug or that her friends died....well, it's the Bandits not Yan's fault. So exactly what would she hate him for. Alas, I will just throw away common sense and see.

Omg please tell me what happened to Zigu cause I'm still contemplating on whether to continue this drama or just leave it where I paused (ep. 5). She is actually my favourite. Last I remember she ended up being the Emperor's concubine (which was a shocker since I thought she would be for the CP instead...hehe). However, it seems the Emperor respected her and didn't sleep with her. So how did it go from there please?

I really find the Ending the Saddest because of Mi Lan. Like she went through so much and I bet she felt soo alone until Shen walks into her life. He felt like a glimmer of hope for her, he gave a sense of purpose. So now she is all alone once again, it just hurts and I'm hurt.
Nana's acting in this drama has elevated her in my eyes. She embodies Mi Lan character with strength, light and grace. And that's what made me sad, cry, happy and root for her.
Will forever love this character Mi Lan, thanks to Nana and will keep tabs to the latter's future works.

My conclusion is China is allergic to Happy Endings 😔

Well for Shen Li, we might need to thank Zhao Liying for that ending because she was one of the producers. And I saw an interview where she said that given the ending of Princess Agents, she felt like she owe it to the fans for this couple to have a good ending...something like that.

No, if I remember correctly in the novel, he doesn't betray his brother. But then again we don't know how the drama wants to portray him and this situ 🤷‍♀️

Omg, I really lived that scene too and how realistic it was portrayed. It is human instinct to first want to see how you look like, your environment looks like once you have vision so I loved how delicately and beautifully it was delivered. Plus I just love love Mi Lan so I was in cloud9 for her

Oh me too! There are certain moments I think, maybe he still has a heart and he is kinda cute, then bahm he does something stupid or horrible and I just 🤦‍♀️...sigh
