Well, a crash course on surviving these stories. 1) A bucket for tears..yeah you will need it 2) Lots and Lots of tissues 3) someone you love whom after watching, you call or meet to tell you how amazing and valuable you're esp. if you're a woman. 4) A nice little rom-com or anything comedy to balance the feelings.
This has been my remedy and as for 3) well my mom is becoming annoyed cause she said, she's running out complements 😀😃. I need a new victim.

I'm on the opposite side hence enjoying this drama immensely. I can't staaaand a one big case drama. With that type of drama I often start of interested and somewhere down the lane, I get bored and eventually drop it. So this case by case style is definitely my jam as new cases keeps me interested and guessing from a new fresh perspective. Reason why I'm obsessed with all CSIs. However I also completely understand where you're coming from.

All depends on what genre and style you like. If you're one who likes short cases related to the palace, corrupt high officials, and the misfortune of women with an overarching final big case and a dash of romance, then this is for you. If you expect a one big case investigation throughout with some romance, this may not be for you. And if you're one who watches a drama because your fav. actors are in it then focus on the story...well in that case, its fifty fifty. And if you are one who wants a story with cases getting solved in 1/2 eps. then this is not for you. Hope that helps. As for the pace...it's very subjective so I can't answer that, unfortunately.

This drama is my Super Bowl...hehe Three crying points 1) when Grandpa pleaded for his grandson to be pardoned...I like cried. Ofc they are forgiven cause those monsters got it coming. 2) when the old man died, like my heart dropped. Old man fought the battle and I was grasping the end of my sit. Old man, you're my hero. RIP 3) Pei yi pleading for HJ to remember something. Gosh I felt for her...her desperation, hurt was so raw that 😢. Those people who said Bai Lu can't act, well you have not watched recent eps. Another thing I love about this drama is the main case is not interfering with the other short cases happening and that I appericiate. Gotta give XHJ's papa some brownie points for giving up getting in the way of these two. Let's fate take it's cause...shall we.
The scene with Wan-ah denying to acknowledge her son in order to protect her literally made me cry a bucket 😭😭😭 That was so heartbreaking 💔 These are beasts who deserved more than death and I already forgive grandpa. And poor those impressionable women stuck with their pregnancy bellies, ...now what 😌 The saddest thing is this sh** is still happening right now in 21st century. I listen to Rotten Mango podcast and I swear I heard something similar to this 🤯😠
