I am watching it a year later and am now on ep 68. This is such a great drama. Gripping story, surprising twists and turns, no cliches, great acting, all natural and organic

A fun, light entertainment. It is well made with good acting and the story is clean and uncomplicated. Definitely worth watching.

100% one of the best dramas out there. The cast and production are simply brilliant.

Hi, thank you for your reply. I am fairly new to Chinese drama and have a lot to watch yet. The ones I have seen so far have really young actors in the lead. Hence my question above.
As for the cast of this drama I was blown away by their performance. One could tell they are seasoned actors. This was a welcome change for me especially after seeing a slew of young actors some good, some bad.

Yes, Zhan’s character is dynamic and the actor did a brilliant job. I need to check out his other dramas after this.
I am getting more and more frustrated watching the scenes between the first ML and FL. They haven’t made much progress as a couple even at episode 31. It is such a let down as a romance drama. Other than that, I find that it has an interesting plot and a good potential to become a great drama. Like you, I hope to see a better version of this drama in the future.

I agree with you! I was really confused when they decided to get married suddenly. I enjoy seeing her with Prince Zhan too and think they’d make a better couple. He does a good job of getting into character. Even in the previous life before the world was reset, I really liked his evil character.
I am now on episode 15 but I still have trouble telling Zhan and Ling apart even though their features are different lol

What I love about this drama is the excellent cast. I also like that more mature actors are playing the main roles. Ever since I started watching Chinese costume drama I noticed that both ML and FL tend to be really young in their early to mid 20s. Or am I wrong?

No, they did not have any children. Apparently, he loved her deeply but had to hide his feelings to protect her from his enemies. However I felt he went overboard when he did that. Also, it is apparent he did it out of his own selfish ambition because he never gave any consideration to her feelings. To me he comes across as an over confident yet foolish young man who thinks he knows what he is doing and has everything under his control.
I cannot recall any loving scenes of theirs after they lost their memories. When she helped him clear his name he showed a little interest (gratitude?) but there was nothing romantic or chemistry to show they were in love.

I think he is already is but doesn’t realise it yet. In Episode 8 when he told her to practice persuading Lei Ao using her feminine wiles, he was held spellbound :D

I too like YLX. He always has something up his sleeves but he does not pose a serious threat to WB and is in fact a lovable character. It is funny how he tried to get WB to sleep in his dorm and also join the LA, FC & WB gang. I find him cheeky and adorable at the same time.

@starnight I agree. I feel it is deliberate. They are not trying to make her into a tomboy or make her look like one. Like you pointed out she is trying to make money and is forced to dress up as a man to achieve her goal.
I actually like that they are trying to maintain her feminine looks by using lipsticks, eyeliner and even eye shadow to make her features stand out. It makes perfect sense too. The same reaction she constantly receives from her schoolmates about her looks seem more natural too. Some scenes like when she accidentally picked up a floral headdress when out shopping with Lei Ao indicates she is not meant to be a tomboy. They are keeping it realistic

Yes you are right about YLX. When she got drunk she let it slip referring to herself as a girl.
Since he has a devil may care attitude and regards her as a brother I doubt he will reveal her identity at this point. He looks amused too

Thank you for explaining. I had forgotten about the linguistic diversity in China. It makes complete sense now. Since Mandarin is the main language it is easy to assume that everyone speaks it even though one is aware that all the C drama actors hail from different regions including Taiwan.

Oh really? I thought it sounded familiar- that deep sexy voice of Mark Chao. But why do they dub?? Sorry I am fairly new to C drama so it is baffling to me as to why they would dub.

I love the cast. Acting is on point. I am wondering if FC knows XW is a girl. If he did, would he sleep in the same room as her and that too sleeping next to her and sharing a blanket? They were all cute but what I meant is he was such a gentleman when he went to retrieve the painting and he would rather face being punished than let a girl’s reputation suffer. Anyway, I just finished Untouchable Lovers so I am really glad to see Song Wei Long in his new drama. I hope he is allowed to kiss on screen this time :D
