Title Love and Redemption Spoiler
And that Phoenix joke CXJ told to cheer him up in ep9
I am a little bit behind. I just finished ep 17. Things are finally beginning to make sense. They revealed how Bai Lin ended up as mortal. He was at Deity Falls where he forced himself to become a mortal. It explains why his memory is intact. I guess he is afraid of her becoming a demon and avenging the injustices she suffered in his hands. He’d then lose his power and position in Heaven. His excuse is that he is doing it for the 3 Realms but in reality he is trying to save his own skin.
There are two things that still bother me though. First is CXJ’s first meeting with Bai Lin in Heaven. Bai Lin said he saved her but from what?
Second is the reincarnation business. I find it a little confusing. I am now having second thoughts about the scene at the Karma Gate. I think you talked about it in one of your posts too. Since she failed her previous 9 trials, the scene must be the one right after her punishment when she was still a deity. What I don’t get is why she was reborn into the Chu family i.e. the present life right after that scene. It just doesn’t add up. Was she already reborn 9 times before she became CXF? But Bai Lin said she failed her love trials over and over again and could not return to Heaven as a result. So I am guessing it has to do with her mortal trials.
You could be right about the merman, Deputy of Lize Palace and the Demon Clan. The huge commotion that took place at the Karma Gate caused by the Demon Clan opened up a lot of possibilities. I remember everyone was rushing to the Gate and CXF got pushed into the water. It was very convenient for the Demon Clan to go through it and for some deities to skip the tea.

Yeah it seems like their last one. I remember that scene at the gate. It seems like most of them have forgotten their former identities. I am dying to know what crime they committed especially CXJ as the God of War to be demoted. From the convo at the gate it seems even petty crimes are not easily forgiven in Heaven.
I am guessing most of them have lost their memory. I am wondering why the merman remembers so much?? Since he is now in the mortal world, was he punished like the others too? If so why does he know so much. I understand that the White Emperor, CXJ's senior and master came to the world to get her back so he was not reborn like her. I think I have way too many questions lol..I cannot wait to see CXJ regain all her senses and memory.
The characters in this drama remind me of TMoPB and Destiny of the White Snake somehow

This drama had me in stitches. The FL’s acting is on point and she is not afraid to look ugly unlike most female leads who cross dress as men but still try to look cutesy. She pulls really funny faces and is so good that at times I’d forget that she is a woman playing the role of her deceased twin brother.

Thanks for the info! I have watched up to ep 18 and cannot wait to watch the last ones. I am also a little sad at the same because I have been enjoying it a lot and it is a pity that the drama is too short

This drama cracks me up all the time. The FL is so good that she can easily pass off as a male. She is natural and is not afraid to look ‘ugly’ unlike most FLs

I have seen only up to ep 9 in English and ep 10 in Chinese which I do not understand. It is good that they are dropping hints every now and then. It keeps the story more interesting. If I remember correctly I think the merman served as a physician in heaven something like that. When he was interrogated by the demon clan I think it was mentioned. Anyway, if SF is the golden bird that must mean he was owned by CXJ(?). Their relationship is really complex.
Another thing I still haven’t figured out is why CXJ was among the deities at the Karma gate at the beginning of the drama. They were demoted to live as mortal for having committed some crime in heaven. I need to go back and look at ep 1 again.

This is basically Destiny of the White Snake and Listening Snow Tower cast reunion. I like the cast a lot. I don’t know the first male lead though I am a fan of the second male lead.
I like Crystal Huan’s looks more in LST. In this drama I know her hair and make up are done to give her a younger girly look .

Now, I know a reason why Liu Yi Huan called SF, "Little Phoenix" as a nickname. And, Feng in Yu Sifeng means "Phoenix".…

Dance of the Sky Empire, ya mean
Oops! I didn’t realise I typed ‘emperor‘ instead of ‘empire‘. Iol I was also checking out Love and the Emperor at the time. Must be because of that.
I will edit it. Thanks though! Lol

Just found out that in the novel, XJ's real identity is Mo Sha Xing, who is the most powerful Asura of the universe.…
Is it available in English? Where can I get hold of it?
Even before he took her in as a disciple I suspected he knew her ID. Then ep 7 revealed Hao Chen is trying to bring her back. He also talked about a close friend who once betrayed him. The drama seems to be a bit different from the book. He does not seem to be that ruthless now but who knows his real intent. I have only watched up to ep 7 in English so it is hard to tell.

Am I the only one who thinks this drama is kind of similar to Dance of the Sky Empire? Both dramas are funny, FLs are on a mission to wake up someone important, main leads have hidden powers/talents which were suppressed/lost, the FLs enter an academy to learn, there is a dark lord, lots of actions, not draggy, not many episodes, both drama titles begin with ‘dance’ and has a young cast.
But I am not complaining. I liked Dance of the Sky Empire and am enjoying this too. I find the story quite refreshing tbh.
I don’t know if there is a reason why a modern girl has to be transported into a different world and body. I think the story would still be fine without it too.
