Wait! I saw it on YouTube — I actually thought it was a drama, not a game. It looks just like a regular drama! I’m curious how many choices the game has if it leads to so many different endings. Did the actors really film every possible outcome?

obsessed with this drama. Sadly I have not been able to watch much Cdrama the past two years. Glad that I stumbled across this. Please suggest other good ones I shouldn't miss. Big fan of Xianxia here

I agree! In more complex roles, his acting ability shines through. In CZ, his character was excessively static. He played his part effectively, but it adds nothing to his acting abilities. The FL in CZ couldn't act, but ironically she was a great fit for the role which was similarly uninteresting.

I agree. I think it adds to her charm and wit. It's only normal for her to act the way she does given her family's situation. She is astute, and the plot of this drama revolves on a game of wits.

I'm pleased to see another Jeremy Tsui drama following Journey of Chongzi, which disappointed me. This drama is far superior in terms of script and characters, who are more interesting and dynamic. I believe that Jeremy Tsui's characters in historical dramas more accurately reflect his acting ability than his parts in Xianxia dramas.

I am rewatching this! By why is it Part 2 as the title?

I love Jeremy Tsui. The actress not so much though I have seen in other dramas. A bit too wooden for my liking. I was hoping they would change the actress the second time even though I already knew they won’t. 😂
They keep repeating scenes from the first arc - that too bothers me.

I hear ya! The first episode was the best so far for me. If only they took out all the exagerrated comedy scenes along with the annoying sound effects. Or at least try not to make it look so juvenile. I guess I am too old for this. I am hanging on only because of the cast ie ML and FL.

I like Allen Ren's vocals though. I cannot tell his accent from his songs :)

I see. I prefer to hear the actors real voice, but it is going to take a very long time to get used to them.

Love both male and female leads. I have greatly enjoyed their past dramas.
Is it the dubbing idk but I find the voice/accent distracting.
As for the story, this mishmash of historical, Wuxia and Republican drama is a bit confusing and overwhelming at times. At the moment I am not sure how it will turn out because it could go either way- a big hit or a big flop.

Yeah that is the part I an finding hard to believe and it annoys me to no end. I am on ep 9 and she seems really stupid despite everyone close to her telling her not to expose herself and those close to her she goes and does just that like she is brainless. Even if her actions are supposed to be “brave” they seem more foolhardy than brave. A lot of things in the plot make no sense so this is not surpising⬜️

I am loving this drama but as the plot gets more and more complex as the story progresses, I am finding it hard to follow the story due to poor subtitles.
One of the biggest problems about LAR’s plan is that MZ can take more than one wife from the same family too. I mean it is not uncommon in other costume dramas. Right? So how can LAR think she can completely avoid it? Enlighten me please if I am wrong. The subs are not making sense to me as dialogues get longer

What I like about this drama: Good plot and refreshing.
Good acting. Great chemistry.
What I don’t like: Annoyingly childish characters esp the female characters. Female characters have the voice and behaviour of
a 5 yr old (too much reminder of a kindergarten drama) .
Long winded dialogues by female characters. I am 44 and clearly am not target audience. I gave it a try because I love Xanxia best.

Yes that’s what I thought too. He is not as scary or annoying as he first seemed. All very likeable characters except you know 2. I like the character dynamics in this drama.

Perhaps this comparison sounds weird but both characters remind me of the Biblical good son and the prodigal son. Uk is the prodigal son. He breaks rules but has a big heart. Yul is the good son, a Pharisee who knows and follows the rules but whose heart remains closed.
