Maybe most love le yan but don't forget chang ge's character in manhwa is very loveable and if you read the manhwa…
I don't love Le Yan at all. While I do think her sincerity and kindness are good qualities to possess, I find her weakness a little tiring. I understand why she is the way she is, but I hope to see her character develop more through the experiences she has had like Chang Ge. I have always preferred strong characters, so Chang Ge is the one for me. I find her lovable because she has a strong sense of justice. Even though she is seeking revenge and seems cold, she has a big heart and great empathy for her people. She could have colluded with the Ashile Tribe to exact revenge on her enemy i.e. her uncle, but she never once sought the destruction of Tang just to achieve her goal. She is steadfast and loyal to the core and risked her own life on several occasions just to save Tang (who has abandoned her) before she could even seek justice for her family. To me her weakness is her stubbornness (which isn't always a bad thing though because it served her well through the many hardships she has endured) and her impetuous nature like cutting off all ties with her loved ones like Le Yan (who didn't deserve it) and Shu Yu (who I think deserves it). But given the circumstances, who can blame her.
Next episode not until the 12th. It already feels like forever :( Zhao Lusi's facial expressions in this drama are exactly the same like in Love of Thousand Years and Untouchable Lovers.
Must say I like Dilraba better as an ass kicking heroine rather than a silly love sick teen like TMOPB/ELOD. To be fair I have only seen her in a few dramas (ancient ones) and I was not in love with the characters she played before. I mean she did a good job and all that, but I prefer her as a bad-ass princess. I find her memorable in this role and it is arguably her best performance to date.
Sigh! I think it is important to read up on history and understand it first to avoid culture shock when watching historical drama like this. I personally love ancient dramas, not just Chinese but also western ones. In fact it was my love of history and period dramas that drew me to C drama. I started watching C drama 2 years ago and I am learning a lot. If only history books were half as entertaining in school as they are on TV, I'd remembered more I'm certain! lol I know some dramas are loosely based around historical events but if that's the route writers want to take I'm fine with that even if I prefer a more accurate version. I watch it now mainly for entertainment or I'd still be watching History TV or some BBC or ITV program instead. The one part that got me really excited in this drama was Yan Yan and Han Derang. The actors may be different but it was good to see them lead such fierce battles against Song in their old age.
Both Shi Yi's maids have been giving me headaches! One is overly bold and outspoken at the wrong time but silent at the right time. The other is too secretive, sly and unreliable. However loyal they may be, they just spell trouble. I just don't get why maids in c dramas get to be so bold, cunning, and arrogant all the time. Some have in fact shown more guile than their mistresses. Not the simple and submissive maids you'd imagine them to be based on their lowly background.
Have you seen Eternal love (ten miles of peach blossom)? The kiss Ye hua gives to Bai Chian is equally hot. Eventhough,…
Yes I have. It is in fact my fav Xanxia drama. Mark Chao is a great actor and his portrayal of Ye Hua was excellent. I was so infatuated with YH that he became my ideal man for every C drama male character. The kiss with BQ after their fight at the Western Sea Palace is the best among all ancient dramas. There was so much passion and desire that you could feel it across the screen. I usually find kissing scenes in c drama really safe unlike theirs. WC is another great actor. If it weren’t for him I’d have dropped the General and I. Too bad Angelababy’s performance did not match up to his. Still it was worth watching
Thank god Lou Shiyi is finally growing up in matters of the heart! Wallace Chung gives the most passionate kisses I have ever seen in C historical drama. After the General and I I thought I’d never see another one. Seriously he is so hot! ?
I am loving this! I put many dramas on the back burner because of work and because there were none I found interesting enough to hold my attention for long. But this one is an exception.
So how many episodes are out now? Did it get better and better? No spoilers please. I had to keep it on hold because of work i.e. business. I think the last episode I watched was right before she got rescued. I cannot recall what episode that was cause it has been a while. I will try to watch it all this weekend. Fingers crossed
The Grand Princess truly deserves her title and a mention here. I love how she fully supports her teenaged daughter’s decision every step of the way. She is the best mom a girl could ever wish for. A daughter’s best friend is indeed her mom. A stark contrast to the dad too.
After the kidnapping I was constantly on tenterhooks wondering when XQ is going to show up and come to the rescue. Finally ep 11 shows him about to take some action. phew! ZZY without make up as a captive looks more like her younger version from Crouching Tiger... man some serious flashbacks. Sigh
