I have never seen a drama with so many annoying characters before! Cui Wan is so annoying and ugly! She is not a worthy love rival at all. But Fu Rong is equally annoying too. Her behaviour is so unpredictable. One minute she is hot, the next she is cold. I just don’t get her. And she is not smart like her sister. Her loyalty and courage (foolishness?) are her only redeeming qualities. She needs to grow up big time. And then there is Xu Ping. Goes without saying sigh! When Fu Rong’s best friend and Xu Jin’s brother come on screen I cannot wait to skip their scenes lol Thank goodness for Wu Bai and Fu Xuan and Xu Jin who keep me going
Wow! Both Han Derang and Yanyan truly are admirable! As for Yelu Xian he is just despicable! I hope YY never grows to love him. I dislike him even more when he tries to be magnanimous toward YY and HD as if he understands the pain he caused them.
Lol he has to wait half a year to get married. Serves him right. Not that he has to as he can marry whenever he likes as he is now the emperor. Feeling sad for Derang already.

Definitely an asshole for trying to drive a wedge between the two and using her to get to Duke Su like a borrowed knife and he couldn’t care less that she married Su to seek revenge and that she is hurt. Why go to extreme to hurt her if he truly cared about her at all? Even if he did not kill her shifu, he took control of the pavilion and is responsible for her death I think. I hope his Nong Nong slaps his fat sulky face when the truth is finally revealed
What! Duke An did not even try to save her when she was falsely accused of murder and all he could come up with w as a pathetic excuse he was always a little late. I bet HE killed her shifu
Bai Lu is one of my fave actors. She can really act. I am not in love with her character though. Don’t get me wrong- she did an amazing job and showed her versatility as an actor. I just don’t like the way her role was written. She is a little too crude for my taste even though her character is perfect for this drama. I am also not a fan of Leon Lai as first ML. I have seen several dramas he acted in before but he is not memorable except maybe in Eternal Love TMOPB. Just saying. But I do like this drama and I am glad Alen Fang is in it
The story is interesting and has so much potential but the execution is really bad with all that CGI and the acting.. The ML is easier to connect with . The FL acts likes a child and is hard to understand what her true feelings are for the ML. She simply cannot get into character

Ditto! I really loved her in LoY. I dropped Legend of the White Snake not just because of her character but also because of the male lead Alan Yu. I am loving this drama so far both script and character wise but I do see some similarities with LoY. Her character does seem a little naive and is inviting a lot of trouble upon herself. I think she comes across as weak because she has her sister, Xu Jin and Xu Ping looking out for her. But she still has some of Yun Xi’s traits like her independent spirit, courage and resourcefulness. I like seeing her sister and Wu Bai Qi together. They make such a good pair. Xu Ping is a really interesting character. I wonder how their relationship is going to play out.
I am glad Lin Fang is finally stepping up as the ML. That Batman slap he gave Wen You and the bungee jump to save QingHong were impressive. Not to say he was less of a man before. I hope QH gets over WY soon. Based on the trailer it looks like he turned hostile. The plot is getting more interesting for me.

Had I known I would have done that! I was a complete novice in C drama when I watched it and did not even know who the actors were then. Many months later I read comments on the net about some other dramas with different endings. I did not think to look it up though. I had assumed LOY had just one ending. Anyway, this drama is much awaited and I am more than happy to see the couple again esp ZZH
The ending of Legend of Yunxi left me disappointed so I couldn’t be happier to see the couple again and their second chance at love. I’m hoping for a sweet ending this time around

What you said makes a lot of sense. I like that the producers take fans into account when making dramas. They sure know how to keep fans engaged and happy. While I can appreciate the route the drama is taking, I do wish that it was a bit more like Maiden Holmes, more daring and a little less conventional. Sigh Btw I pressed pause at ep 13.
