Did anyone here watch Shine on Me? How does it compare with Love for You? I notice it is rated higher than LFY. I’m thinking of moving on from here to that…..
Ive watched 4 episododes and the pacing of their relationship is pretty weird1. They meet as kids and ML is totally…
Nice spots! I wondered about some of the points you’ve listed but I kinda explained them away to myself like this….
1) He became a loner coz of his dad and lack of a mum so naturally he was unhappy about 2 strangers taking up half of his home &bedroom. And I think he was also trying to be loyal to his mum to shun his dad’s new woman.
2) She was nice to him when he was at his lowest point. She found out about his sad dark shameful (to him) secret and not only did she not look down on him as a result, she swore to keep it a secret and gave him food and comfort when he most needed it. Previously he was always mean to her partly to put up a tough guy front to protect himself. But now, she knows everything so there’s no need to hide his vulnerability and weakness. Only then can trust be built.
3) & 4) They’ve grown up and were now at that odd teenager’s age. Together with being the opposite sex and having the weirdest family dynamics…everything must have been awkward between the 2. Even real siblings go through that phase let alone the strange quasi-family structure where the parents are not married to each other and constantly on the verge of breaking up. And CY was kicked out of the house the whole time so I guess they didn’t spend alot of time together during those years. But you can still see they care about each other - he went to save her on the boat, she skipped class to rescue him out of the house for the police entrance test, staying by his side when his dad passed, etc.
5) I think in a moment of frustration and anger CY kicked her out of his life and home. It was understandable because her mum really screwed him up and foiled his plans to buy the pool place and left him in debt. CY also wasn’t very sure if MJ was an accomplice to her mums deed becoz they hadn’t been close all those years. It was only when he found out that she had rushed to his rescue when his dad incarcerated him that he felt guilty about abandoning her (a girl who’s only 15 or 16 then) all on her own. Thats when he started to stalk her to see if she’s doing ok, had enough food, clothes, etc.
6) I think she ought to feel wronged by CY coz everything was her mum’s doing and yet CY let it out on her. And he really left her to her own devices for quite a long period of time without any contact. She’s still just a kid with no one around and kicked out of the house. She suffered a lot on her own. So, he was pretty mean to her in that sense. Plus MJ has a lot of pride and is stubborn. I think CY totally deserved the treatment from her.
Yeah. MJ’s got lots of integrity in that respect. She can’t even lead non-CY suitors on (has to reject them outright) let alone touchy-touchy with them….whatever that means 🤪🤣
Woww...am at ep17. And wow just wow. Chen yi's breakdown was so emotional. I mean it's a clear signal no one can…
@swagata Wow, I’m genuinely impressed! 👏🏻 You might just be the first person here who truly appreciates and understands the whole audit shenanigans and the tangled web of vice trade, corruption, and dirty business this drama lays out. Everyone else here are either bored, annoyed and/or confused by it.
So everyone here who keeps grumbling about “too much audit talk” — please, read the above review and be enlightened.! And hopefully enjoy the audit episodes more.
Oh? I didn’t think she was behaving like a spoilt brat. I thought she’s cute. I think it’s becoz ZJY has…
Hahaha I didn’t see that coming……….but okok….u r still a sweet soul. 🤪🤣
Well, in a way….CY is a de facto police undercover! I find him quite a sensible, steady and cautious fella actually. It is MJ who’s a bit of a loose canon with no limits! Good thing CY was watching her back all the time.
Actually. the best part of this drama was the Acting! it was incredible especially. in eps 17. they are magnificent.
Just wanted to drop by to say I agree with you… I didn’t sense any hatred in your posts…there are many such posts here mind you..but yours was not one of them.
I think everyone is entitled to their own opinion and to share them here. Even criticism that are well founded and not malicious should be allowed to be shared here without being attacked. (I’ve come across some here that spun off out of control into personal attacks and even dragged in religion! That is just so sad and shameful. To vilify others over a drama? Seriously? Anyways, I digressed…). Genuine and constructive criticism is what fuels improvements. I believe even the actors themselves welcome them so that they get directions to improve their craft.
So please continue to share your thoughts and views here and in similar forums.
Currently on ep 28. Can someone spoil for me, what is going on between haoyuan logistics, zhang bin, audits team?…
Yes. They were smuggling illegal govt-sanctioned raw material that is very toxic. ZB is one of the mastermind behind the illegal trafficking. The audit team discovered discrepancies between the volume of goods (stuff toys) that were transported and delivered to retailers versus the number of trucks mobilised to make this delivery (or the total number of runs the trucks were doing in a given period).
CY had consistently turned down working for ZB after his return from his traumatic 3-years in Jin Country but eventually, he agreed to be a manager only to be in the same location as MJ to keep an eye on her and to protect her.

🫢🤣 And all this while I was thinking to myself what a sweet and kind soul you were—not only entertaining my post, which was so obviously and spectacularly off-topic, but even trying to salvage it by somehow making it fit the conversation again! 🤣
Yes the audit lasts throughout the drama but honestly it didn’t bother me one bit because the focus was still on our leads…ok maybe my focus was on the leads hahah… but essentially they were always together audit or no audit, and working towards the same goal.
What I can’t stand are those dramas where the couple split up for episodes on end… or they misunderstand each other so badly that they hated or didn’t love each other for some parts. Here, no such thing - steadfast loyal love all the way.
The other thing I’m super super thankful for is that even though CY was surrounded by vice & villain he didn’t once cross over to the dark side. Not even once. His morale compass is strong & he’s very smart & steady. So don’t give up this drama please. It’s well worth your time.

I just realised my earlier post was mistakenly posted as a reply to your original post above. 🫢🫢 I was responding to someone else who was complaining that MJ is annoying.
Anyways, since I posted here…let me make right my error and respond to your posts please…
Yes CY is that type of self-sacrificing protective love interest. He got into this muddle right from the start because of her too. So from an audience pov, our hearts ache for the poor guy. However, rest assured that MJ being the direct cause & beneficiary of his whole plight and poor state aches (heart) much much more than us….to the extent that she too would risk her life, limb & job to save him.
I get your frustration that he’s diving deeper n deeper into the lion’s den as she is also wandering nearer and nearer it through the audit. But here’s the thing, they have to both delve deep enough to find the root to the problem and then be able to uproot all the dangers, emotional & physical barriers and everything else that was keeping the 2 leads apart for the past years. And the bonus - in the course of their root-hunting (aka audit days), they spend a lot of quality time together, find out more about each other - their past 6 years, their real feelings towards each other, etc.
So yes, the audit parts are long but they are necessary ( to get to the root of the prob without which there would be no real eternal HE for our couple) and enjoyable (lots of couple interactions and revelations).
So best not to ask - When it will all this be pushed through… Enjoy the process…. It is not repetitive….
Soon. The drama doesn't tell us everything straight out. For example, the scene where he hugged her from behind…
Yes and I also noticed that that night (when MJ was annoyed that CY was in Linda’s car) he was tossing and turning in bed and had to down ice-water! But I wondered about the timing of that scene…what had triggered it? He noticed that MJ was jealous? Anyways, it’s really fun rewatching!
I thought I would be able to binge the last few episodes but ep24 was a struggle. The audit is going on far too…
Oh? I didn’t think she was behaving like a spoilt brat. I thought she’s cute. I think it’s becoz ZJY has got a face, voice and mannerism that’s difficult to detest. hahaha My tolerance level for her is very high.
Why was MJ angry at CY in ep8 that CY had to buy her a gift to apologise? He said he drank too much the day before and shouldn’t have said what he said. What did he say? This was during the meal with Linda and the guys. I didn’t see that CY said anything wrong at all. Is this a lost-in-subtitle situation again?

Ok I take it all back. I’ve rewatched the musical chair scene I this time I got the purpose. It was deliberate and yes it was planned by CY with the help of Bo! And the purpose was to protect MJ because she was being threatened by some of CY’s fan girls for being his ‘sister’. Now it makes sense. So we were both wrong…. Heheh.
