Same here. First SWL drama for me. Very pleasant surprise his acting is so natural. And can I say, he is gorgeous! No wonder MJ constantly kisses him. Hahaha. She is gorgeous too and so cute looking! She really has that vibe that will make any guy constantly pat her head. Hahaha. And the baby (Tull’s son) is so darn cute too! All the nice characters in the drama are nice… no annoying people. Love this drama. I’ll rate it a 10 to bump up the current dismal ratings.

Dang he got it easy! I would’ve loved it if he had read the DNA report at his death bed, had just enough time to reel in all that guilt and be engulfed with remorse, then turn to CY to say “I am very sorry my son!” but only have enough breath to mutter “I am very sore…..” and then die with his eyes wide open becoz he couldn’t believe that he couldn’t finish his sentence. Hahahaha 😆🤣…so evil…. I’m watching too much drama..too much 🤭🤭
So back on point tho…. So I take that the dad was plainly torturing CY out of hatred and spite. I tot he was training him becoz the dad also foiled CY’s plan to be a policeman to force him to become an electrician. And boy what a weird punishment to met out that one can only suspect it might be a form of vocational training. 😅

The character I hate more than MJ’s mum is CY’s dad! 😠😤 Btw, when he was electrocuting CY when he was a kid on a regular basis was he trying to train CY to be an electrician (like himself….i think) or was it just plainly to torture him? Which is so so sadistic and perverted. Poor litto CY.

Thanks again for sharing your thoughts….i got 2 big take aways from reading them - the first is that MJ deliberately returned to audit and destroy the thugs controlling CY! Omg I think you’re right! I was still feeling a little unsettled that MJ only returned home just coz her current work happened to be related to a company situated in her hometown. I felt that does t quite gel with the mindset of someone who’s never let go of home & her one and only family member. I mean to have zero contact for 6 years is very drastic. But now that you say that returning home is all premeditated and part of a long drawn plan to rescue her only kin….thats something else - it’s 6 years of preparation to reclaim her home! I like that pov!
2nd take away is her mentioning to uncle Zhou that she’s waited for 6 years. I heard that line but completely missed the meaning! That says a lot too! She didn’t forget. She was waiting, anticipating and preparing.

For the longest time (I.e. about 16-17 episodes) I really thought this drama is set in the 80s or 90s thanks to CY’s beat-up car….. Also when they were little kids….the scenes look like they’re from the 70s! Anyways just sharing if there’re others here like me….
