On Once We Get Married Apr 21, 2023
Title Once We Get Married Spoiler
I am so mad @ this series. I’m absolutely infuriated. To say some of the things that has happened before I dropped this crap, is a load of nonsense rubbish garbage is putting it mildly.
Firstly, This turned from a marriage contract to a slave contract.
First it was agreed that she would have her own private room but low and behold that didn’t happen, not only did she not get a room, she gets to choose between a closet or sofa. Two (2) very uncomfortable places to sleep while he gets to sleep on a big soft bed. And she’s mandated to read to him every night. I’m getting madder as I am typing this.
Secondly, they agreed not to meddle in each others lives but he has been meddling in hers constantly. A girl confessed to you that she likes you and said girl has had a run in with his “wife” in his presence and he knew it wasn’t pleasant, then what did he proceed to do, he brings said girl to his home. He proceeds to command the wife in an authoritative master/servant relationship to go and get him water to drink and she obediently stands up to go do her master’s bidding but then gets stopped by the woman who was brought to the house, with the announcement that she’s in love with her husband. Said husband proceeds to get angry that the wife is not jealous.
Thirdly and the most infuriating of all. He literally tells her what to do. Come here, sit here, she literally obeys every command of his and walks meekly with him, she is sassy but her sassiness is fleeting, one minute you will think she’s about to stand up to him, next minute she’s apologizing and doing exactly what he wants. He literally threw her iPad in the water and destroyed the hard work she put in just because he was jealous, and surprise surprise she ended up apologizing to him in that scene. Gosh I am so mad. The scenes that broke the camels back for me was when he gave her the Italy materials to learn and was quizzing her on how to pronounce the words, he held a whip, granted he didn’t whip her but the fact that he held that whip was so wrong on all levels and I was not there for that at all, then after making the girl that confessed to him teach his wife etiquette lessons, she got bruises on her feet, then got sent home and told to write something 100times like she’s a little kid.
None of what this guy did to this girl in this series is remotely acceptable IMO and I’m so disappointed that more people aren’t calling out this load of BS
But wait for it, all this is all ok somehow because wait for it…. He’s falling in love with her hence all this emotional and implied physical abuse is cute.
I am so freaking mad with this BS. I can’t remember the last time I was this mad at anything much less a tv series.
I fucking dropped this piece of shitty crap @ ep10
1/10 because I can’t give it 0/10
On Perfect and Casual Apr 21, 2023
There is nothing I hate more than the bashing of FLs in C & K Dramas. It’s my biggest pet peeve. But this series pushed all the freaking wrong buttons for me. In my fight to support the actresses of C & K TV industry from the constant bashing from viewers and fans, I vehemently refuse to blame this actress, so I lay my blame and vitriol solely at the feet of the writers and directors of this snooze dumb fest. I have said this several time in some of my review, the writers and directors of C & K Dramas especially CDramas need to STOP portraying their females characters as weak, timid, useless and brainless. It’s beyond ridiculous and so damn insulting to women. The few episodes I watched the FL can’t do anything without d help of d ML or her friends. She acts like a literal child.
We are know that movies and series are scripted and then acted but for movies and series to be great they need to not feel like acting but even if it does feel like acting let it atleast be good acting, well to say this one failed woefully in that aspect is such an understatement. It felt like acting and not even in a good way.
I tried to endure this and continue watching but the more I watched the more I felt like I was not only losing brain cells but also forcing myself to watch it. So I dropped this.
1/10 is being generous as there is no option for 0/10.

You are right about the target audience. The majority of the watchers are from the younger generation but that…
Most of the gmmtv BL are tame by nature probably due to their target audience but few of them are still watchable and enjoyable to older viewers atleast some were to me. I will be putting their shows on shelf for now because I like me some spicy ones and not tame ones
On My School President Apr 15, 2023
Like some people pointed out, this drama looks like it’s target audience are the much younger demographic and I’m guessing if we were to take a survey it will reveal that majority of the watchers are indeed of the younger generation, not to say that no older person will watch it and enjoy it (as said by someone in the comments who said that a close relative of 57yrs watched and liked it), seeing that I have dropped this I’m clearly not part of the older demographic who enjoyed this.
It wasn’t bad. It was fluffy and cute but the plot was basically recycled every episode and I agree with someone’s comment it was so boring I had to hype myself and try to convince myself that this was good or going to get better. It just didn’t for me. Seeing how this has good reviews, I have concluded that it’s just not my cup of tea. Which is fine.
This is a drop for me @ ep6
1/10 rating also.
On A Tale of Thousand Stars Apr 15, 2023
Saying that watching this series was such a massive waste of time is such an understatement. If you are considering watching the series and you read this comment I seriously implore you to NOT WATCH this. This is officially the worst bl series (I use that word lightly because I don’t know if you can even truly consider this series a BL) I have ever watched. And I have watched a lot. If you are looking for a romantic series that the relationship progresses this is definitely not it. But if you are looking for a series that they stare at each other stupidly like that’s supposed to be hot. It was cute and all the first few episodes but it just became stupid and silly with no progression. Then also one of the main lead Tian cries every episode sometimes for silly reasons then by all means go ahead and have at it.
The character Tian had one resting crying face throughout the series and the other one Phu had one smirk/smug resting face too. You are mad at your parents for saving your life and telling you what to do but you are so in love with Phu who also tells you what to do.
Yeah right.
To say I’m so mad that I watched this series in its entirety is once again an understatement.
I fast forwarded 75% of the time from episode 7. That’s how I managed to get through this.
I highly DO NOT RECOMMEND
On Long Time No See Apr 15, 2023
Just finished watching this. I don’t understand where some people are coming from calling this one of the best movies they’ve watched. I would really like to see their movie list, it must really be terrible to call this the best movie they’ve watched.
Anyways it’s not unwatchable, so there’s that.
6.5/10 for me.

TERRIBLE. ugh Started out a little better than average, then took a nose-dive.Gongchan cannot act. Just awful.Too…
I had almost the same comments as you but you went into more details, I think. And you couldn’t have said it better if you tried. This was just a pile of garbage that should be left in the trash and while I can’t control what other people like, I can surely question their taste level if they claim this is the best BL they’ve ever watched. Such baloney….

I need a shoulder to cry on after this mess. What a disappointment after the first few episodes.
Lmao. I honestly literally laughed so loud @ this comment.

Updated Review:
I just completed the series and when it ended I was so confused, I was like is this the end. One minute, the sunset text meet request, next we see them with rings, sorry what?
I saw a lot of people raving about the hugs. I will agree that some of the hugs were so heartwarming but some were super awkward, stiff and weird. I feel like most of the blame goes to the director for this but I don’t even care to know.
Arrrrrgggggghhhhh this could have been such an epic series but IMO it’s not. I did like some things about it but overall its a no for me. Rewatch value is zero but in the review I will have to put one (1) because there is no option for zero (0) and the overall rating for me in this is a 1. As much as I appreciated the angst and decent chemistry I just couldn’t get past the dead fish or mannequin (like the reply to my comment stated) kiss.

Review @ Ep8:
Everyone who has watched or is watching and wants to rate, reserve the right to rate how ever they see fit in regards to how the series made them feel or how much they enjoyed it.
Just because you enjoyed the dead fish kisses that does not give you the right to project that to people ( and call them names such as tasteless) who expected a little bit more passion in the kiss. No one is saying that they should shove their tongues down each other’s throat. The couple in Our Dating Sim most of you are referring to gave us good and realistic kiss scenes without shoving their tongues down each other’s throats so what are some of you saying here.
None of you have the right to tell any other person how they should feel about the kiss scenes. If people don’t wanna continue to watch it or rate it low because of the dead fish kisses that’s their choice and right. And it’s also your choice to give it the highest rate if those type of kisses do it for you.
I’m currently at episode 8. The chemistry, angst and story was going well until the dead fish kiss in ep7. I rather there is no kiss at all than give me this type of dead fish, frozen statue, no mouth movement kiss. No one IRL kisses like that.
Anyways this is a 5 for me for now. May rate it lower or higher depending on how the rest of the episodes go.

does this have a sad ending or happy ending? I don't mind spoilers btw
Technically a happy ending. She died while saving someone and he had to live without her for like 30years or so. She reincarnated, she remembered him and their lives because she didn’t drink the Grim Reaper’s memory wipe drink. But it literally ended after the saw each other.

JingYan is actually just as good a character as Mei ChangSu - he's kind of obsessive and also honest to a fault,…
I agree with your comment but with the exception that Jing was as good as Mei ChangSu, he’s not even in the same book as him but I guess we will have to agree to disagree.
BTW I didn’t know there was going to be a third. Tried watching the second one but I couldn’t get into it. I knew there was no scheming mastermind in that (which like I said in my comment, that’s more my jam) but I still thought I would atleast enjoy it but I couldn’t even get past ep2. 🤷‍♀️

Selfish and fucking type of character don't know why people are calling her strong and smart...........how can…
Wow all this rant just because she fell in love with the emperor. Who are to tell someone who they can or cannot love. So because he “loves her”(of which he knew her personality very well, his own sister even warned him that he will regret it) she was a person that would rather die than do what she doesn’t want to do (she literally knelt/bowed in that snow for hours because she refused to apologize/beg the emperor). He didn’t even consult her before agreeing to marry Erqing. Regardless of his reasons he made the decision to marry someone else. Your talking modern days, you think any modern woman wants to marry a man that marries another woman?
She should have what exactly? be his concubine to Erqing being the main wife? Or she should never fall in love for the rest of her life.
We need to normalize not telling people especially women whom to love, how to love, to what extent they should love. Loving the emperor or anyone was solely her choice to make. It might seem selfish to you (hence your long rant) but at the end of the day, it was her choice, the operative word being “HER” not your choice for her.

Episode 1-5 were so so for me, but I’m glad I stuck with it. 6-12 were solid episodes and saved the series for…
This review is actually encouraging me to go continue watching, because to say I couldn’t get past ep1 is putting it mildly. I was so disappointed in this series especially since it was the number 1 on my BL list for this year. My expectations were off the roof and the let down let me just say is way below six feet...
I will give it another try, thanks to you.

When I watched this the first time I was like nah although I liked it I won’t be rewatching it but I ate my words big Time because I am currently rewatching it.
I’m rewatching solely for the purpose of watching Hu Ge bring Mei ChangSu to life with his loyal band.
Genius strategic mastermind who plays chess while other are playing checkers is the best way to describe the character known as Mei ChangSu/Sir Su/Su Zhe/Lin Shu. The way he brought all this personas to life was a thing of beauty and incredible to watch.
He portrayed being sick to perfection, I actually would have believed he was really sick.
His impenetrable stares were so chilling, it’s actually one of my favorites things about him, even with his weak body, the way he walked into the several mental battles he faced was nothing short of majestic. He was the perfect character. I loved the childishness of Fei Lu, it could have gone wrong with being too much but it was just right. He was ferociously protective of his Su-gege and I loved him for it. Special shout-out to general commander Meng he was such a delight to watch and he was also extremely ferocious in his protection of Sir Su. I absolutely loved the dedicated devotion from Sir Su’s entourage towards him, it was incredibly heartwarming.
One of the reasons I said I wasn't going to rewatch was because if I’m being honest I didn’t really care too much for Xiao Jingyan’s character, he was quite annoying and self righteous. I inherently dislike goody2shoes self righteous people and Prince Xiao Jing turned crown prince/emperor was that to boot.
But I love me a good scheming/revenge series so this was right up my alley so I’m not even ashamed to say I ate my words and currently rewatching.
I highly recommend. It’s brilliantly written and masterfully executed in both directing and acting.
Kudos to the cast and crew

Title Blueming
This is not a series I would ever rewatch cos I struggled to even finish this even though it was barely 15mins an episode, this was definitely not my cup of tea. I dislike woe is me characters and goody2shoes characters the most and in this series Cha Si Won is the definition of woe is me. Everybody in the world has stuffs they are going through. You were fat when you were young, news flash so was a lot of other kids. FYI I am not discounting his “tough” childhood but don’t go expecting people to be walking on egg shells around you when everyone is going through their own shit. It’s hilarious (and not in a good/funny way) that Cha Si Won is narrating his childhood trauma to Hyeong Da Un in ep6 of how people were always judging him before getting to know him but insert *eye roll* that’s exactly how Cha Si Won turned around and judged Hyeong Da Un after their first encounter .
I really didn’t care for this at all. I wish I didn’t watch it. I strongly DO NOT recommend.
I absolutely adore Kang SeoJun aka Son Woo-Hyun. I am an absolute sucker for open and honest people. And if you check open and honest in the dictionary you will probably find Kang SeoJun under it.
This was so heartbreaking on so many levels, I know a lot of people would not have the emotional or even mental bandwidth to tolerate the dismissals and nonchalance that Han displayed, I know I couldn’t for one, but that’s what made me love Kang, he’s strength in withstanding all those emotional assault is sad but commendable (I think one of the reason he held out hope was when he saw he’s shirt on the bed when he drove all night and visited Han after he finally found out where he’s been).
Son Woo-Hyun you were perfection in this role. Hope to see more of your work.

This series just felt so good to the heart. I believe in this epic forever type of love but unfortunately in this time and age it’s very difficult to have that IRL because people are selfish and not truthful in what exactly they are looking for once you start communicating with them, so for the foreseeable future I am going to be living vicariously through romantic (“you are the only one for me in this world, you are the only one I will ever love in any lifetime I live, epic love”) dramas, like this one.
It really gave me all the right feels and boy was our couple really adorable. Shin Ki Tae reminded me so much Kang SeoJun from To My Star, both of them are so handsome, cute and adorable and best of all they were so refreshingly honest/open about what they wanted and how they were feeling every time. There is zero deceptive bones in both their bodies. (Actually Han Ji Woo asked Kang SeoJun in one scene that why must he be so honest about everything and because of that honesty he can’t resist him, that scene really resounded with me). I fell in love with Kang SeoJun and while I still prefer Kang SeoJun to Shin Ki Tae overall, Ki Tae sure did give Kang a run for his money in my heart.
Overall a fast watch that was delectable and heart fluttering
Honestly this was 1⭐️ for me, the ending was a bit rushed IMO but the last 2eps gave off lots of good feels. I liked the leads relationship so because of that this like 5⭐️ for me even though I think it should be less because it was dragging and boring for most of the 16eps. After watching the whole series, I couldn’t see what the hype/rave reviews was all about except the fact that most of the viewers seem obsessed with the two MLs especially with Lee Dong-Wook hence the inflated ratings. This is nowhere near a 8.0 rating much less 8.8 rating, IMO.
I swear to God the delusional castle that most K & C Drama fans have built does host a lot of idiotic morons. People were literally wailing and crying in the VIKI comment section. How the fuck are you wailing and crying in the comment section about Kim Shin putting his hands on the Grim Reaper in Ep13 (let someone kill your whole fucking family and let’s see how well you react when you are face to face with the person, I’m sure you will hug them because OMG *insert sarcasm* they are so handsome and you even got to be friends with them before knowing). This is a fucking tv series you moronic retards. He was not actually trying to kill ya”alls precious Lee Dong-Wook. Like WTF.
K & C Drama fans will be all up in their feelings when their so called popular and handsome actors are MLs. They will stay bashing the FLs of these actors (deluding themselves with the rhetoric that she can’t act, she’s whiny/clingy or because they feel that she’s not good enough to costar with their precious Male actors) but the MLs are always beyond perfect and above reproach and can apparently do no wrong. These male actors don’t even need to do much or have any sort of great personality, they just need to be “handsome & hot” and viola they are all perfect in all their ways. As a lady I love me some handsome actors and I can appreciate the good looking ones but some “fans” I don’t even call them that, I call them delusional moronic retards take it way too far, little wonder the poor actors/actresses and idols in China and Korea can’t publicize their relationships because of the unstable people that claim to be their fans….
FYI to the above delusional moronic retards, all your revered male actors won’t read your comments, even if they somehow miraculously do, they won’t care for your trifling thoughts and opinions of them and their FLs, especially when most of them are actual friends with said FLs. So keep wasting your useless time bashing all their FLs in the VIKI comment section, VIKI, Youku, IQIYI etc review sections, here on mydramalist and any other tv series review sites, you will end up just being the one dying of anger and frustration while both FL and ML smile to the bank.
People were bashing this shows FL that she was childish and immature, I’m like she’s literally 19yrs old in the show and the MLs were 939yrs and 300yrs and were both acting childish with each other but surprise surprise nobody was bashing them, instead they will praising them, saying how they had such chemistry and people were shipping them (pure insanity). This level of obsessive delusions and inability to have rational/logical thinking because a guy is so “handsome”, lemme tell you, it’s borderline mental. Very unstable behavior.
And what makes it worse is that, It’s mostly females that you see bashing this FLs. It’s really horrible what women do to each other just because they want to praise and idolize a “handsome” guy that doesn’t even know they exist. Very very sad indeed
On The Story of Ming Lan Mar 25, 2023
Before I start, I watched Story of Yanxi Palace then I watched this, I did the same thing again with the rewatch. I rewatched Yanxi & right after rewatched this again.
Having watched both twice I still prefer Story of Yanxi Palace majorly because IN MY OPINION Wei YingLou is the greatest female character ever made anywhere in the world. Wei YingLou is everything i am. She’s so fearlessly badass, she’s extremely loyal to the people she loves and most of all is not shackled by useless emotions that have been designed & perpetrated to keep women below. She’s cunning and ruthless and that’s one of the reasons I love her. I love you forever my most iconic Imperial Noble Consort Wei YingLou aka Empress aka literal QUEEN
MingLan was ruthless when she was pushed to a corner and she’s super smart and calculating, she knew to guard her heart, and I really liked her character a lot.
This series is the definition of character development. The main characters were so fleshed out (this is the most fleshed out character driven series I have ever watched) we knew who they were, what their motivations & desires were, their short comings and strengths.
Our power couple did turn out relatively well and “normal” when you realize that the both of them came from families that were competing for the worst family of the year awards. Gu’s family ended up winning the award in a landslide..
The only thing that irked me was the we didn’t get to see how Molan was treated upon entry into her matrimonial home, I badly wanted to see the shock/heartbreak on her face as she entered and saw a very pregnant concubine chunke (Sue me I’m petty like that). Also the demise of Gu TingYe’s stepmom was so anticlimactic. I feel she died so easily. I wanted her to experience real long drawn out pain/anguish but alas it wasn’t so, like I said sue me, I’m petty like that.
People need to stop telling women when and how to feel anything. A lot of men in this show & in the real world will be dating/sleeping with different women and not love any of them. When the women are now seeking for their attention, these women will be called clingy (especially in C & K Dramas) but when a man falls in love with a woman she is automatically expected to reciprocate those feelings, like she should be grateful and happy that he loves her, (that was one the foolishness that pissed me the hell off in the comment section while watching on the VIKI app), the audacity of women to not reciprocate a man’s feelings simply because he’s handsome & loves her, gosh the travesty. *insert sarcasm*
I do thank God I wasn’t born in that era because I know I wouldn’t have survived it, so in my opinion, the good/kind women of that era are the real MVPs.
If indeed they had such evil scheming women then, damn, too bad, women supporting women have been a farce since beginning of time & I can’t see any end to it. At least that time they were not dressing it up prettily like they are now. #MeTooMovement my ass.
All that being said, shoutout to MingLan’s girl squad they were literal goals. I loved each and every one of them.
The best scenes was when the sisters fell down (happened at different scenes) Gosh I watched those several times.
Nanny Chang’s rant to Madam Kang that caused her fall was so epic, it was a masterpiece.
To end this, it was a really good series and I will be back in a few years to rewatch again.
But for now adios to my scheming power couple…..

After watching and reading the novel, I can see why people loved it and are obsessed with it. I’m in the minority in this. I did like it but I didn’t love it. The only thing I loved was Xiao Zhan’s portrayal of Wei Wuxian. It was beyond perfection. He was so incredibly beautiful to watch. I am of the opinion that he’s better in Historical drama than modern drama because that Oath of Love was not good at all IMO.
For me Word of Honor was 1000times better than this. I really did like Wei WuXian/Xiao Zhan but Wen Kexing/Simon Gong has my complete heart.
