Title Our Secret
Finished it. It is.... a pitty. I wonder why the scriptwriters wanted to sabotage their own show.First half is…
I watched this on VIKI and I said almost the exact same thing in the comment section. I know CDrama’s like their misunderstanding troupe but this felt like misunderstanding just for the sake of it, the reasons were trifling, silly and ridiculous. The writers were determined to throw in that misunderstanding troupe come hell or high water and they didn’t bloody care if it made any sense or not.
After watching the 1st 14eps I was going to give this 10/10 but the last 10eps reduced it to a 6/10 for me but I ended up giving it 7.5/10 because of those first 14eps.
Do I regret watching it, not really but if I knew beforehand that the romance we were going to get was borderline middle school I would have passed on it.
Sorry for the long rant on your comment.

Title Our Secret
Watching this series I just realized that Our Secret walked so that Lighter and Princess could run.
I watched Time and Him Are Just Right & Lighter and Princess before I started watching this and as I am watching I am seriously getting the vibes of both of them and I am not mad about it at all.
The only complain I have so far is that they are making the FL talk like a baby. I get she is in high school but her female high school friends especially KeKe wasn’t talking like that. I know it’s a CDrama thingy to make their FL cute or something by making her talk and behave like a child, just FYI it might be tolerable as a young girl but it’s definitely not cute as an adult so I hope that now that she’s gotten into the university they will make her talk and behave more maturely because I really like this FL. She’s sassy and has spunk but they are literally killing all her sassy spunky vibes with this baby-like acting BS.
Am at the final stretch of the series, let’s see how they end this one. Fingers crossed.

Update: one of my bane of contention was with the way the writers and directors made the FL, with the childish behavior and baby-like speech pattern during the high school period and although the baby-like speech pattern persisted, most of the childish behavior was done away with now in the present time during university, she grew more backbone, which was good to see.
The relationship progressed after ep20 when there are just 4eps left and the romance is so muted, it’s barely there. After concluding the series I realized that it’s a middle school type of romance and it never pretended to be anything else, I will try to not let my expectations of what I wanted it to be influence my rating so I will try and rate as fairly as I can. Overall I enjoyed the drama but it’s pretty forgettable IMO and not something i would ever rewatch.
Someone said beware of diabetes with this series and I kinda echo the sentiment a little bit, it’s definitely a sweet and fluffy series but it lacked that humph to it that would have made it super memorable like it’s successor Lighter and Princess. Simply put Our Secrets was for teenagers while Lighter and Princess was for a more matured audience even though the lead actors were quite young themselves.
Rewatch value is 2/10
Overall value is 7.5/10.

Did you know that Rainbow Xu is 28 now and she will be 29 next month. She acts great as a younger character with…
Baby voice is not needed or make one cute, it rather just comes off as stupid/weak but that just my opinion. Its not the actress’s fault, I blame the writers and the director. I still like the actress and drama regardless
On Lighter & Princess May 8, 2023
Although some parts of the drama got on my last damn nerves and the win-win resolution pissed me the hell off, I still consider this one hell of a series.
Top notch everything, this series had it all. It was quality all around.
The chemistry between Chen Fei Yu as Li Xun and Zhang Jing Yi as Zhu Yun was so scorching hot it’s was incredible to watch. It’s been a long time I saw chemistry that was this fire in CDrama.
The only thing I didn’t like was that they didn’t make Zhu Yun have any identity, goals, dreams or aspirations that wasn’t somehow tied to Li Xun, he was literally her whole world but if you are going to go all in for someone in the way she did you might as well do it right and boy did she go all in for him and while I can’t be like her I certainly wont knock her for it either. I completely understood why he took the extreme route in propelling her to break up with him because God, him and everyone watching the show knew that she would never give up on him easily but I didn’t like how the writers took his bad treatment of her too far after his prison release, especially in that office scene before her overdose.
But Li Xun was who he was and made no apologies for it. I agree with one reviewer that said how they made some changes to Li Xun in the later episodes just so they could give us a win-win situation that literally nobody asked for and was undeserved to say the least, I also wasn’t happy about that.
If you want to watch a CDrama with real matured make out seshs with a good plot and solid acting then this is for you, I also recommend Falling into You.
Rewatch value is 10/10 (I have already rewatched and planning on rewatching again soon)
Overall is absolutely 10/10
I obviously highly highly recommend.
On Until We Meet Again May 6, 2023
I dropped this like a hot rotten potato. It was just super boring and very cringy. I was going to rip out all of my hair and probably my eyeballs if Pharm cried one more time trauma or not, so the best solution for me was to drop this.
You are suffering from “severe trauma” but instead of you to go to therapy and see a psychologist, you don’t, then what do you do, you cry and cry and cry incessantly, every f*cking ep. The tears were beyond ridiculous I stopped caring and didn’t give 2 f*cks how he and Dean turned out, hence the drop. If Pharm and Dean had any sort of chemistry, (which incase you don’t get my drift, they didn’t have any whatsoever), I don’t know if the incessant crying would have been tolerable but on second thought nothing absolutely nothing would have made the level and amount of crying I endured in the 5eps I foolishly watched worth it.
Dropped this so obviously the rewatch value is Zero but since that’s not an option 1/10 it is.
Overall is 1/10 also.
I definitely DO NOT recommend this cringy boring cry fest masquerading as a series.

I’m curious what your pick for the best KBL would be. No shade intended, just wondering.
OMG. You sound like me, unfortunately, although we slightly disagree on the “epic-ness” of the eight sense, we have almost the same aesthetics. The way I hate those dead fish kisses in KBL or any series for that matter, I really can’t put it into words. It’s beyond ridiculous how anyone can justify people who are 25yrs and above kissing (more like lip pressing) like that, prior solid angst and chemistry be damned

I appreciate your take but I kinda disagree on the naked in bed together part, the lighting used for that “naked in bed” scene was so dark you could barely see anything, it was done more like an illusion and it apparently worked because you and many other people seem to have loved it. To be clear, I didn’t hate it, I actually did like it but I felt it was more showy than doing, hence the illusion. I love the bed scenes in To My Star, it was emotional, it was romantic and it was intense, I might be biased because of how much I love TMS so IMO I think TMS is way better but I liked this one well enough too.

On The Eighth Sense May 2, 2023
I have read so many people saying this is the best KBL of all time. IMO, It’s NOT.
Although I say it’s not, it’s still pretty good. The best thing about this series is the dialogue, cinematography and music.
The acting was pretty good overall and the dialogues felt like how people communicate in real life aka the dialogues felt real and not scripted.. It touched mental health, I’m so over this new trend of mental health this mental health that because a lot of people have started using mental health as excuses for their weakness/shortcomings and it has taking away from people who are actually really suffering from serious mental illnesses/ health. And in the case of this series Jae Won was genuinely suffering from it in a bad way and I am glad that we got to see him work through it with a therapist.
The cinematography was top notch and most of the close up shots were so beautifully done. I loved the beach/water shots it was beautiful.
The music selection here was sooooo good. Hence the only 10/10 I gave.
Why then did I say this was not the best KBL. The series felt very choppy. The transition was way too horrible, It cuts from one scene to another, sometimes you don’t know if it’s a flashback or current or even a dream, and honestly sometimes the series was not making any sense. But the leads had mad chemistry and their relationship was cute and all, so there was that.
I personally won’t take someone like Jae Won back after everything he did even though I understood why he did so. I honestly get the trauma but what if something happens again, then you will shut down and shut me out again and what go back to your ex again. I watched on VIKI and someone in the comments said they would advice Ji Hyun to stay the hell away from Jae Won, I understand the sentiment but while I agree on not continuing the relationship I don’t agree with him staying away, I think he should only be just friends with him but that is my opinion. Plus I hate when a relationship feels like it’s only on one person’s terms and timeline which was the case in this relationship. Jae Won pursed him 1st, kissed him 1st and then ignored him afterwards. Then the Un-fateful beach trip was also on Jae Won’s timeline and even after the unfortunate incident, he alone decided to shut Ji Hyun down to “protect him”.
Their getting back together was also on Jae Won’s timeline.
The two best character was the boss lady and Ae Ri IMO.
The 2 ladies were awesome plus their acting was really good.
My best scene was the classroom scene in ep10 between Ji Hyun and Ae Ri, I tried to be fair to this drama in my rating. I was originally going to give this 6/10 because of the choppy and bad transitions of the scenes but I decided against it and was instead going to give it 7.5/10 but that Ji Hyun and Ae Ri ep10 classroom scene alone made me add .5 so my overall rating is 8/10.
I didn’t love this series but I liked it enough, but not enough to rewatch.
So rewatch value is 5/10.
On The Blood of Youth May 1, 2023
The beginning part was completely out of this world because it was all martial arts, the later episodes were more scheming and it took away a little bit of the essence of what made me fall in love with the series in the first place, I’m not adverse to schemes in a series so it didn’t damper it too much for me. The only problem I had was that I didn’t think it needed any romance and while I have nothing against mismatched couples this one’s just didn’t do it for me at all. There was absolutely no chemistry or even any type of sparks flying between the pair of Xiao Se/Sikong & Lei Wu Jie/Ye Ruo Yi, especially Xiao & Sikong (their romantic moment interactions was really painful to watch IMO) and the writers trying to force the couple thing to work was just cringy to say the least. I really wish they took the faux romance part out. They could have all just been martial brothers and sisters. All that being said, as much as I wanted to take out some points because of the forced romantic pairings, because trust me it was incredibly bad and I so badly wanted to but I decided against it as the overall series did outweigh the poor romance efforts so I still gave it a solid 10⭐️.
Xiao Se was a breathtaking character and Li Hong Yi who portrayed him is such a good actor and did a very fine job. He sure brought Xiao Se/Xiao Chu He/Prince Yong An characters to life. He’s surely becoming one of my faves. My favorite character and I think he will also be that for most of the viewers is none other than Wu Xin, he’s one liners were a thing of joy. I wish he featured more throughout the series especially at the later episodes. Every moment he was on screen was important and meaningful. I also applaud Liu Xue Yi for going all in for this character, starting with agreeing to shave his hair for the role (he looked so handsome) and then bringing the character to life. The Bromance between Xiao Se&Wu Xin, Xiao Se&Lie Wu Jie, Xiao Se/Wu Xin&Lei Wu Jie was the only relationship that was needed to be very honest. One of my major disappointment was that we never got to see Spear Deity fight.
The top3 fights IMO:
3rd place goes to the fight between Lone Deity and Xiao Se in Tianqi City.
2nd place goes to Baili DongJun (Liquor Deity) and Mo Yi (Earth Deity) on the celestial island.
1st place goes to Tang Lian against the Dark river people. OMG Tang Lian stole all our hearts with that fight. The actor that played this role did such an awesome job with it.
The CGI and fighting choreography was so incredible I was pleasantly gobsmacked. It fulfilled all my martial arts fantasies and then some.
Rewatch value 10/10 (I have already rewatched)
Overall 10/10.
I highly recommend.

Title Fall in Love
Even though the romance was lacking a bit as it was not the full focus of the series, the leads chemistry did make up for it alot and the intrigue more than made up for it also. Commander Tan will always have my heart.
I was gobsmacked in such a good way with this after ep3.
I will be very honest. I thought the ML couldn’t act for shit in the first 2 episodes but I continued because there was just a vibe to the series that made me want so see more. I told myself I would stop if I didn’t like it by episode 5. Well thank God for that judgement call as I would have missed out on what is turning into one of my top 5 Cdramas of all time.
The ML has in just 2 episode turned from one of my worse leads to one of my absolute favorite leads. I am completely obsessed with him (in a non creepy way).
IMO, This is the first Cdrama lead after Jiang XiaoYu in handsome siblings and most recently Li Xun in Lighter and Princess, that has not been boggled down with false virtue, fake morality and being a goody two shoes. Our male lead is so cunning and strategic and do you know what the best part of it was, he completely owned it and I was there for all of it. Aside from the 1st 2 episodes. He completely shines every time he’s on screen and steals every scene he’s in. I thought the SML was better after watching the 1st 2 episodes but boy was I so wrong. (I Still liked the SML plenty even tho he had no balls in regards to standing up to this dad).
Someone talked about his hand/finger gestures. They were indeed mesmerizing and a thing of beauty.
I read a review bashing the FL, typical behavior found with a lot of C & K Drama fans. She was a young lady and she was perfect as far as I am concerned.
Some people will watch a series where the FL is between 17-23 and expect her to be acting like a 30 year old. Like the hateful keyboard warriors were any better behaved at that age. I can bet they are not even matured at their current age but have the guts to criticize almost every FL for not being perfect enough in their eyes. Smh, so Ridiculous. All FL bashers need to either take several seats at the back or GTFOH with their “misogynistic” or “never ending women hating on their fellow women phenomenon” foolish shit.
I have rewatched already so obviously the rewatch value is 10/10.
Overall rating is obviously 10/10 also.
I highly highly recommend

The plot was good overall. Although not a whole lot of stuff happened in the movie it still had a decent story line. The music didn’t really stand out, honestly I couldn’t even tell if there was music or not. To say the intimate scenes were a joke is putting it mildly, they were doing a whole lot of nothing. The camera angles used to fake all the make out scenes was just stupid and they shouldn’t have bothered with it as it was super obvious.
The costume department left something to be desired. While the outfits were pretty decent it felt like they all wore the same outfits for the whole movie.
That red light crosswalk scene where he was on the phone was so damn bad, it was ridiculous. The extras were just walking in all different directions and it didn’t make any sense. I blame the director for that scene.
The acting was pretty decent but it generally wasn’t a solid movie so I won’t be rewatching this.
Overall rating 3.5/10 because I can’t forgive the bait and switch act with all the make out scenes that made it look so fake.
I do not recommend

What is a favorite scene of your's and why? I wants all the details! Spoiliers are fine so long as you tag it…
My favorite scene and the best scene IMO was when Wen Kexing came to save Xu in ep31. That majestic entrance (OMG, I am literally visualizing it as I am tying and I can feel the goosebumps) , the music with the entrance (I listen to it all the time), the stare down he had with the “idiotic overcompensating because of his lack of actual talent” windows of heaven royal guard.
The guy then asked him, who are you sir?
And that smirk (I was in heaven with that smirk) before answering, I’m Wen, Wen Kexing and the whole conversation + Wen kneeling to Xu was just everything to me. I have watched that scene more than 100 times no exaggeration. Actually I try to watch that scene everyday if I can. That’s how obsessed I am with it.
I’m sure it’s very clear that I am very obsessed with Wen Kexing and Word of Honor. And I am so not sorry about it. As a matter of fact I just finished rewatching the whole series a few days ago.

On Who Rules the World Apr 25, 2023
My absolute favorite CDrama/Asian actress Zhao Lusi (she’s the best Chinese Actress IMO) + one of my favorite CDrama/Asian actor Yang Yang, then add my favorite genre Martial Arts to the mix, to say I was in TV heaven with this series is an understatement.
I have rewatched so many times already and I am currently rewatching while writing this review.
One of my favorite lines from this series is when the wicked witch 2nd hand queen’s servant was trying to convince the Lordship so she can avoid going to Feng LanXi’s mothers memorial.
She was like in her humble opinion.
The Lordship guy was now like, if it’s your humble opinion you should shut up your mouth. I laugh so hard every time I watch that scene.
The only thing I hated was Hei-FengXi’s love and devotion to his useless and wicked father. That man was a very jealous and small man. He loved Prince Ju because he thought that one was useless and wouldn’t threaten his power/position little did he know. But Feng LanXi was mysterious and smart, so he was always trying to suppress him. The funny thing is Feng LanXi didn’t even think of usurping his dad at all, especially since he could have done it so easily. Then that 2nd hand Queen step mother of his was definitely a piece of work.
I actually liked Feng Qi Wu, she accepted things after she was shut down and contributed massively to the efforts of Prince Feng LanXi.
As for Prince Cheng, they tried to give him a redemption arc but I certainly was not there for it after he murdered a bunch of people in cold blood.
Prince Huang Chao, I don’t even know what to say about him. He wanted to rule the world so badly he forwent all common sense and deductive reasoning. He was a nice side character though.
Yu WuYuan was indeed a worthy villain. He was so unsuspecting that even the extremely intelligent and cunning Hei-FengXi couldn’t see through him at the beginning. I didn’t like how the final fight went though, I kinda expected more and it was anti-climactic to say the least.
Bai FengXi ohhhhhh how I love you. Like she always says, she hates killing but if you dare push her and back her to a corner don’t blame her for being ruthless. I loved Ruthless Bai-FengXi, she was badass.
Bai-FengXi’s martial sister was dumb as rocks and certainly did not deserve to be anyone’s martial sister much less a sect leader. I wish Bai-FengXi allowed Hei-FengXi to aleast give her a very solid beating that left permanent marks, sue me, i am petty like that.
Hei FengXi, our smart cunning leader of Fountain Abode. What a character, so nonplussed and very ruthless. Contrary to some other opinions that I read and watched, I loved his fighting scenes so much. If felt like once he’s there everything will be ok.
The fight scenes and martial arts in the series was so well done and like I said earlier I am always in TV heaven every time I watch this. My love for martial arts based series is unexplainable (blood of the youth I see you calling me to rewatch). My brother always asks why do I like watching Asian series especially the one with people that are flying, and I ask him but you like Superman, doesn’t he fly?
Anyways back to the review. The legendary Bai-Hei FengXi Duo, my favorite dynamic duo. I read some people complaining about their chemistry and i for one don’t know what the hell they were talking about, their chemistry was plenty fine to me, this was not a romance focused series but still their chemistry was on point IMO. They understood each other and played well off each other.
They may not have ruled the world at the end but they sure as hell ruled it to perfection before going into seclusion.
The music here was sooooooo good. I have all the songs on my playlist.
Obviously the rewatch value is 10/10 as I have rewatched several times already and currently rewatching at the time of this review.
I wish I could give rate it higher than 10 but since I can’t.
A very solid 10/10 overall.
I highly highly highly recommend. Did I say highly ??
On To Sir, with Love Apr 24, 2023
Despite my low rating I didn’t hate this series. But I didn’t like it either. I fast forwarded 75% of it from ep5. I got tired of the repetitive dialogue between Tian and his Mom & Yang and his Mom.
Almost the whole cast had the same exact face and expression in very scene for every situation. Yang’s mom was the worst of them followed by Jia. I would have put 1/10 for the acting but Yang, Pin and Jiu’s siblings were the only bright spots in terms of acting and giving different facial expressions to match the scene in an otherwise one face for every scenario acting so I added 2 extra for a 3/10.
I don’t know what Jia is doing as a servant if she is this all knowing orchid and different animal species concocting badass murdering queen. She should be the leader of the clans.
Someone just happens to always be listening in on other peoples conversations. I can excuse some of the eavesdropping as they made sense, but some were unplanned conversations but somehow someone was magically just there eavesdropping. The one that did it for me was when Jia overheard Bua and Yang talking in ep12. Jia has never gone to Bua’s place before that but all of a sudden she just happens to go over to Bua’s place and overhears that convo. Puh-lease.
The overall plot premise sounded interesting that’s why I decided to watch this but after watching the product, I can say it’s not my cup of tea.
Although I finished this it was a struggle and the fast forward button was maximumly utilized.
I changed my rating from 2/10 to 5/10 because of the last 3 eps. Although I still fast forwarded most of it the last 3eps were the best eps of the whole series, IMO.
I’m obviously never going to rewatch this, so the rewatch value is 1/10.
5/10 overall rating.
