This pacing of this show was so weird/wild and all over the place especially in regards to the timelines. With a better script, better pacing and longer run time, this would have been one of the best KBLs because the chemistry of our leads was good. My major complaint would be how the character “intern” Jun was written, a lot of people are being very generous when they say he was clueless but I think it was more than that, he was basically written like he had no IQ or EQ, he didn’t know anything at work and also couldn’t tell that even one of three guys liked him, then we are suppose to believe that he came up with the concept that was used at the end, puh-lease, plot armor at its finest. The leads with the 2 SMLs and the 3 female characters acting was really decent though. Some of the side characters or extras were over acting but over all pretty decent acting. The actor that played the director was such a whole damn mood. He was the shining star of this drama hands down. He’s facial expression were incredible and they were giving hunnnyyyy. I don’t think I will necessarily rewatch this but I do recommend if you are looking for something fast/easy with good chemistry even though half the time it was discombobulated and didn’t make much sense. Rewatch value 5/10 Overall 7.5/10
I just started and although I have read the “good reviews” so far this is not giving @ all. Of course the main lead can’t die in ep1 but like seriously, the brother of the dead guy shooting all those shots and not even one bullet grazed him especially in such close proximity, puh-lease and then the push from our other lead, who shocker, materialized out of nowhere, I don’t even know if it was a push or a hit and the guy just flew so dramatically. I will keep watching and hopefully all those “good” reviews were actually onto something. Fingers crossed. I will update my rating after watching.
Update @ ep4 So in ep4 they want us to blindly accept that Tanthai was so drunk that he could barely stand (which was doubled down on with the restroom drunk scene, which was witnessed and then narrated later by Tinn) hence couldn’t be the one who was driving the car that hit his niece but we saw Tanthai getting questioned by the police right after the accident scene and he didn’t look the kind of drunk that was described here in ep4 nor tipsy. I am not really getting the rave reviews about this except people are so taking by the interesting premise that they are overlooking the obvious flaws in this series. It’s not bad by any means but IMO, it’s not worth the rave reviews at least up until ep4 that I have watched.
I do not listen to the mdl community bc most users here are annoying idol fanboys/girls who have never heard of…
I have been saying this for so long. So many extremely obsessed delusional fanboys/fangirls on this site. To them all their favorite idol actors are the greatest actors in the universe and just try and say one of their idols can’t act, they will descend on you like pack of wolves. I have read some comments of people saying they were afraid to post their reviews on some of this series because they were afraid of people coming for them, I have encouraged some of them to comment/review however they felt about whatever series they wanna review or comment on, this is a public site and is not for delusional fanboys/fangirls.
How old are you ? I just went to re-watch Episode 20 and there is nothing wrong with it ? They went out dating…
Replying to you the first time was actually an error on my part because I can see you lack all levels of intelligence. The fact that you think the possibility and not even a known fact that maybe 1 or 2 people refusing to watch this fictional drama because of my review is worth wishing death on one of my parents so I can know how loss feels shows what a deranged lunatic you are. You’ve displayed stupidity over and over again. If you use a fictional drama to heal from your trauma then you are the one that needs to see a shrink and although I won’t be replying to you again, I strongly advice you to refrain from mentioning any of my parents or family members in any capacity.
How old are you ? I just went to re-watch Episode 20 and there is nothing wrong with it ? They went out dating…
I have been extremely busy and didn’t have time to reply to your foolishness. This reply would have been really funny if it was just not so sad and extremely foolish. The fact that you had to edit your reply when advised by another commenter shows how delusional and stupid you really are. You have no idea why I didn’t like ep20 but you proceed to wish death on one of my parent because of a fictional story, even though the storyline happens in real life, I was disliking a fictional story and worse you don’t even know why I disliked it in the first place but you jumped in to defend and then have the audacity to bring my parents into this. Didn’t you reread your initial comment before posting, I doubt you did because your stupidity won’t have allowed you to display common sense, if you had any to begin with. Who the hell do you think you are to tell me what I should like or how I should like it? Not that you deserve to know this information but Oh, by the way. I lost my mom 11 years ago to a ghastly accident, so who is the idiot now? Do go ahead and wish the living one cancer so I can really know how it feels and then maybe your morbid curiosity will be satisfied.
I originally wanted to give this 8/10 but when i got to episode 20, I changed my mind to giving it 2/10. Because that episode was completely ridiculous and unbelievable and made me so pissed off that I started fast forwarding from that episode just to finish the series. That episode destroyed everything good about this show IMO. I ended up giving it 5/10 because of the wedding scene. Those vows were absolutely incredible and one of the best tv wedding scenes I have ever watched, so I guess there’s that for that. Won’t be rewatching ever. And to be very honest I wouldn’t recommend this show. Rewatch value 1/10 Overall value 5/10
I was stuck in-between choosing 6/10 or 7/10 but I ended up going with 7/10 just because they had really good chemistry. There was nothing extraordinary or groundbreaking with the story, the plot was basically straight forward and predictable, you could basically tell what was going to happen, there was no surprises and it was still decent enough. It was an enjoyable watch. The way they looked at each other was fire 🔥. That tasty Florida restaurant, is the only restaurant, fictional or real that I have seen that has only one item on their menu. Lmao. This was really cute and all but I very much doubt this would be getting a rewatch from me. But I do recommend if you are looking for something fast, easy and adorable. OMG, this was wild. The annoyance I felt and still feel with the time I wasted watching this series stems from the fact that it could have been really good with a better and complete script. I have watched series where you have to interpret the ending but this was not that, this is an incomplete script. It’s one thing for the writers to create an open ended ending and let viewers interpret it as they may but it’s something entirely different to have huge holes stemming from incomplete conversations half way or a little more than half way into the series. It was really wild, absolutely nothing made any sense after Yi Bin confessed to Ki Jin, conversations where literally left midway in all the scenes after the aforementioned confession scene. Then we get one year later and its like magic, abracadabra, everyone is smiling. It was so bizarre and I am so mad because I can easily envision what it could have been instead I was subjected to the mind boggling/numbing thing that it ended up being. Deep sigh. I obviously will never rewatch this. Rewatch value 1/10 Overall 3/10 I highly do not recommend
I am struggling with how to fairly rate this drama. It had so many things wrong with it but it had some good moments also. I totally get the persistent and determined angle they were trying for with Ha Ram in pursing Seo Yi Jin but it came off as too pushy and was tending towards harassment, no should mean no. It seems when beautiful/handsome/rich people display such behaviors they are seen as cute/romantic etc but when people who aren’t attractive/poor do the same thing they get labeled as creepy/stalkerish etc. It’s a very dishonest and selective world we live in. This series struggled with really bad pacing, they tried to fit too many things without having enough time to flesh them out The acting, ots and chemistry between our main couple was actually really decent, so IMO it could have been a lot better if the things mentioned above where handled much better. This isn’t something I would rewatch and I am not really sure if I will say that I do or don’t recommend it. If you are reading this review to decide, then I say I will leave this one as your choice on whether to watch or not. Rewatch value 1/10 Overall value 6/10
Hi. I read your review and was reading this thread of replies to your review. I just wanted to tell you and encourage you to never be afraid to speak your mind. I know there are so many delusional fanboys and fangirls on MDL that think they have the right to police what people can say on this site because of their obsessive delusions towards the leads, especially towards most of the popular/handsome MLs, therefore are aggressive/insulting to anyone who isn’t praising and singing kumbaya along with them in reviewing dramas. This is a public site where everyone has a right to review any drama based on how they felt while watching it. Your opinion is yours and yours alone and it’s valid whether I or anyone else agrees with it, that’s why it’s called your opinion. I hope I haven’t overstepped. Cheers
Well... if that's bad acting for you then I seriously doubt that you can judge good from bad 🤔Since he's one…
I guess you have the right to say my review/opinion is wrong but I don’t have the right to say the quality of the drama is not my cup of tea. You thinking I need validation from people I don’t know for whatever reason and that in the grand scheme of things won’t increase my worth and more-so on a drama that is pretty forgettable to me, no less, is hilarious. My opinion about his acting is not going to make them not cast him anymore in any drama especially since you claim that he’s praised for his outstanding acting skills, if you really believe that he’s acting is as outstanding as you claim why then are you mad at my opinion which you also generously pointed out didn’t get any positive response. Ooooooppppsssss sorry comment police, I didn’t know that I couldn’t post or repost my comments however much I liked, I didn’t read that in the MDL do’s & don’ts but thanks for pointing it out. Is it bad that I am laughing so hard about this whole thing because it’s pretty funny 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Review @ ep1-14 I actually do like this drama but I so wanted to love it for the sake of Zhou Ye, became a fan of hers after watching her in Word of Honor (I can’t rave enough about that series, special shoutout to the one and only Chief of the Ghost Valley, the philanthropist Wen Kexing) but I don’t love it so far. There are so many continuity fails but I will highlight two. 1). He had huge scars from Su Ying stabbing him in ep1 but all of a sudden the scars disappeared few episodes later 2). When he went to retrieve his sword the first time, the journey was so hard / tumultuous that’s why Yan Hui couldn’t go with him but when they went the second time, they just basically strolled into the place. Yan Hui keeps losing things just for the sake of furthering the plot which is out of character for someone who cherishes everything she has. Also once again we have a female character Su Ying who is so obsessed with a man (the only difference this time is her obsession isn’t with the ML) she is extremely vile and vicious and willing to go to any and all length for him. This perpetual CDrama plot is getting so damn old. Especially the level at which they make this female characters reach. It’s beyond ridiculous and unrealistic. I personally don’t know any woman in my real life who behaves in those extreme ways.
Update @ep21 I am struggling so hard to continue this drama. It’s not terribly bad but it’s not great either. The acting from the ML is actually so bad. He’s had exactly one expression so far. He’s acting range is very limited IMO but he’s handsome so I guess that covers up for lack of acting abilities to some people. Whatever floats anyone’s boat…. The comedic parts of this drama just feels out of place for me. One more thing I don’t care how handsome or beautiful someone is, or whatever reason they had to stab and almost kill me, nobody is falling in love with someone who literally stabbed them and left them for dead. The lovers of this series can try to justify it any which ways they like, “he has to save the kids” “he was going to return the protective heart thingy to her so he knew she won’t die” etc but to look someone you claim to love in the eyes and stab them for the 3rd time I might add is just unacceptable and as far I am concerned there is absolutely no coming back from that. He could have asked for it but nah, let’s stab her and then she literally fell so badly, he didn’t even try to break her fall, he just left her there, but wait, he’s really so sorry and because he’s so sorry she has to understand and not only forgive him but let it go and continue the relationship after he couldn’t take 2mins to ask for it and just had to take it in the most cruel way possible. I am sure eventually she’s going to forgive him and they will live happily ever after but that’s a relationship I can never get behind so that arc of the drama has already left a bitter taste in my mouth.
Update @completion. The production team for this drama really dropped the ball big time especially the editing department and script writers. So many inconsistencies and lack of continuity. The errors is the details was just way to much for me to ignore and tolerate. Marks appear and disappear in the same scene. The characters powers and strengths (with the exception of the dark lord aura guy) where so inconsistent and felt like it was based on what each scene needed. I can go on and on but I have already spent days watching this drama and that is enough time I’m willing to give this drama. The only thing that was good for me in this drama was the costumes., they looked beautiful and rich. I am obviously never going to rewatch this drama. Rewatch value 1/10 Overall value 6/10 (i am being super generous with this rating) I highly do not recommend but that’s my opinion, you are free to make yours.
