HoneyxHoney - STILL no happy ending? Oh I'm done! I adore Park Hae Jin, but that' s ridiculous. .....as ridiculous…
HoneyXHoney -- I am actually reading the webtoon....I'm just a sad old romantic that is hoping for a happy ending there at least. lol! Park Hae Jin was BRILLIANT in Man to Man! I think 4 Men is also going to be good. :)
I laughed when I read your comment because I was just as gobsmacked - but then we're in the real world and she's…
No problem - to be fair I had to look up what what being an Ikebana artist was. lol! But do watch it - it really was good (to me at least), hope you like it as much... :)
Thanks! I heard that each version is different with a different cast and ending - so it was nice to see another version (again raw, but this time it wasn't so reliant on dialogue as the other one I saw).
I always give the live actions a certain amount of leeway because, basically, they're constrained by the real world we inhabit and the effects we have at our disposal. Thankfully, our imaginations are not so curtailed and so we can see the mangas and animes in a far freer way. It does mean, negatively, that the live actions will NEVER live up to their manga and/or anime origins.
I can live with that and though this movie, like so many others, did the best it could and I loved it for that there will be failings, but nothing that's too terrible to make it a turkey to me - unless the script is awful. We cannot expect animes and mangas to become completely real with genuine human beings playing the roles - it's just not possible. With that in mind the live actions of mangas/animes like FMA are actually VERY good. Bleach was another one panned because it wasn't the same as the manga and anime and yet I thought it was really good.
Another thing to consider is time constraints - there's no guarantee of another movie/series, so the directors and writers have to cram a lot into the run time. If they leave it open, then fans initially think there will be a sequel - THEN complain if there isn't and say it should've been filmed with a 'proper' ending. If they give it a 'proper' ending fans complain it was too rushed and there's no way a sequel could follow now.
When you consider that some mangas have been going for HUNDREDS of volumes and animes have been running - with series, movies and specials - for years, then you can see the pressure on the writers and directors with the live actions. 90 minutes to cram ALL that in.....or leave an open ending....either way they're damned.
Perhaps a few decades in the future there will be ways around this - holographic stage sets, etc; maybe computer generated versions of the real actors (though wouldn't that just be another form of animation?) will make the live action versions identical to their origins and makers can make sure they get a deal for at least 2 or 3 movies to ensure the stories told as completely as possible.........but for now I think what we're given is often, considering the constraints of Real World limits, exceptionally good. I LOVED FMA. :)

His father was a famous and wealthy Ikebana artist (Japanese art of flower arranging.) He ran away from it because he wanted something else and his life was, apparently, very controlled to force him to follow his father.
He was actually a lovely guy and felt he was not worthy of her - though, to be fair, a phone call, note or even a 'goodbye, I'll be back' message would've been nice instead of just vanishing like a ghost. Like I said - I would definitely have been looking for a shovel in her shoes, God knows she appeared to have a lot grasslands nearby to hide the body! Or use it to knock him out and then keep him locked in a kennel whilst he reflected on what he'd done! lol!
Just wondering - does ANYONE have a clue which guy she ends up with, or if someone dies? I ask only because it looks like NONE of us will ever see it, let alone see it subbed. So if someone could spoil it - with the relevant tags naturally - I would love you forever. I've seen so many videos of this drama it kills me that I'll probably NEVER get to watch ANY of it. :(
I'm currently trying to learn madarin Chinese because so many Cdramas aren't ever subbed, but I can't even find the RAW version of this and I'm fuming! :(
Unless you want to be flipping tables, then I suggest you avoid this like the plague. The ending of the movie was one of the worst I've seen in a while and they don't often chsnge the endings that much, so I'm not even going to bother.
The movie is really disapointing most of the cast changes i don´t like. Soel´s change is ok but i don´t get…
HoneyxHoney - STILL no happy ending? Oh I'm done! I adore Park Hae Jin, but that' s ridiculous. .....as ridiculous as the drama ending was. I can't go throuh that again, I was about ready to flip tables at the end of the drama. I shall just watch Man to Man and Bad Guys again......
