Brilliant article and well put together - I agree with them all, but my personal three favourites are 1. Man to Man; 2. Bad Guys and last but not least 3. Cheese in the Trap. I don't know why but I liked those characters of his the most; they're certainly the only ones of his dramas I've rewatched a lot based only on his performance. For me the opening segment of episode 1 of Man to Man where he does the 'Smiley Eyes' to the little girl, just stole my heart.
I'm also really looking forward to Four Men - so far the only actor I've ever seen truly pull off multiple character roles (though as part of the drama in his case) was Ji Sung in Kill Me, Heal Me. But I'm pretty sure Park Hae Jin will break that record with Four Men. ☺
Can I please point out something - when a person is ADOPTED or a STEP sibling it means there is NO blood relation between them; literally NONE. Therefore romantic relationships between these groups are NOT 'incestuous', 'sick', 'perverted', or any of the other myriad of nasty names I'm constantly seeing being used with these dramas.
Let's not forget that the world over even first cousins are allowed to marry - and they ARE blood relations and yet no one bats an eye. It's not like they don't know they're not related, so it's NOT incest. Thank you, I will now step away from my soapbox. ☺
I wouldn't expect to see this any time soon, if ever - China's new, and MUCH stricter, set of decency laws means that LGBT+ projects are now effectively banned. The ONLY way for Chinese LGBT+ projects to get ahead is for the film/drama making community to move to Taiwan or Thailand which are MUCH more progressive countries. When a regime is even banning actors and idols with tattoos from performing then you know it's a slippery slope.....
I literally cannot wait - I thought it was all hype like the second series of Kiss Me which never happened, so I am happy dancing to see this is actually REAL!
I hear they're making a third series of Korn and Knock and returning to the format of Together with Me because Bad Romance got so badly slammed....so hopefully P'Bright will be back and stop being a terrible person (I genuinely think he's learned his lesson after seeing how Farm has changed for the worst) and help mend Farm's broken heart.
In his defence, Yo had suffered a miscarriage scare and was still in some pain and Chat was worried for HER and…
Certainly the family all accepted their portion of guilt for Pinsee's death - but she was NOT a blood relative, she had been raised by the old lady, but she was not her daughter - she wasn't even adopted as King was by her own EVIL elder. Pinsee NEVER behaved like an aunt, certainly was never treated like actual family and had been ripping the family off for years.
Chat did what he could when he realised she was seriously trying to drown herself, but up until that moment he was more worried about Yo and their baby, as he should've been. If I had to choose between saving my family or saving some demented harridan that had try to kill them and destroy us then I wouldn't even hesitate. family before criminal in my book. He was focused on Yo until it was too late, that was not HIS fault - Pinsee dragged her into the sea remember.
I agree Pinsee should've been imprisoned - perhaps she would've got help, repented; the family would no doubt have taken her back if she had. But there's no guarantee of that and she was certainly an incredibly narcissistic person, so it's also probably unlikely.
But SHE chose to drown herself for HER actions; as someone who's been suicidal in the past myself I can tell you I would be horrified if my family blamed themselves if I'd succeeded. I have no doubt if Yo had not been in danger herself and sick then Chat would've acted quicker. But thanks for the chat, it's nice to talk to someone that can debate it calmly. :)
I think that's the point - one is a girl masquerading as boy (prince) and the other is boy masquerading as a girl (princess) who are forced to marry each other (without knowing the truth....at least to start).
is it just me or did chat just watch his aunt kill herself and not decide to help until she was completely submerged…
In his defence, Yo had suffered a miscarriage scare and was still in some pain and Chat was worried for HER and making sure SHE was alright - as he should. ANY partner would do the same in his shoes, whatever their gender, rather than worry about what a demented would-be murderer and thief is ranting about and trying to drown themselves. But remember, he DID try and save her just not instantly because he had more to worry about.
Don't forget that that Pinsee had SHOT his father whilst trying to KILL his grandmother (no matter how much that old witch deserved it) and his stand in mum (Malai) and then tried to DROWN his pregnant fiancee. This was after ripping the family off, robbing them at GUNpoint and making Yo and her mum's life a complete and utter hell on earth. I'd say Karma came her way and nothing more.
My great uncle, who fought in the First World War, would often say 'the only good enemy, is a dead one.' Sure it could be argued that by the end Pinsee needed psychiatric help, but not for most of the drama and, really, as far as Yo was concerned the only way for her to definitely be safe was for Pinsee to be dead. Harsh but true. I'm on Chat's side on this one; he did NOTHING wrong in the beach scenario.
Thankyou for leaving this BRILLIANT comment! It made my day! xDDAnd oooh I'm planning on watching Rich Man, Poor…
No problem, glad I gave you a smile! Keep an eye out for Nagging Doubt, he seems to creep up beside or behind you - you can't miss it, look for something that is like a black shaggy dog with serial killer eyes....it's like they've made a furry version of the ghost from the Ring. ;)
Watch it, especially the NY special - it's a really good drama and Shun Oguri in that wrecked my bias for Saito Takumi....THAT'S how great he was! *swoon*
CrescentMoon -- No, it won't be if it's Chinese; there will be NO BL from China anymore since they brought in…
Likewise - I think the singer is back to touring now (Thailand I think), but he's not acting anymore I think. The model is now acting again in bit parts, hopefully the government will leave them alone now.
I didn't like the third story of HIStory season 1 - My Hero - I just couldn't warm to it. What really drove me made with the first story of season 2 was the kissing - the younger guy just kept bumping lips, fake 'kissing' and clamping his mouth shut....it was off putting as hell, but other than that I loved all the PDA moments of touching, hugging and stuff. I really want to see the Volleyball one; that looks so good. :) My favourite of season 1 was Obsessed, that was passion incarnate there. :)
I used to be very pessimistic, and had some very dark times; but I honestly and genuinely feel that being positive now has helped my health issues and I really enjoy life! Thanks for the positive comments too. :)

I hope Shun's not a bias wrecker for you too. ;)
