PLEASE, for the love of GOD, give it a happy ending this time - I am fed up crying every time I watch it!

I laughed so much at this as I relate to the stages a lot. I don't change all of them, but there have been a few I've gone back and changed......actually only a couple to move up, and about four to move down. Usually I'm pretty happy with the ratings I give, but there is always that nagging doubt....which, according to our UK adverts, is a small creature covered in black fur and looking like a very badly groomed poodle....

Re-watch value - now THAT for me is the decider; if I can say "I want to watch it again" then it was good, if I start again, or watch my favourite episodes, right away then it was brilliant (here I cast puppy dog eyes at the wonderful Rich Man, Poor Woman - especially the New York Special). But if I shudder and say "NEVER AGAIN....NEVER!!" or, worse, scream for a brain scrub stat.....then my 1-4 rating is well deserved (I'm looking at you Miss in Kiss).

I found that Chinese censorship cancellation so annoying. The two actors from 'Addicted' (aka Heroin) were also BANNED from tv work for over a year and are still BANNED from working together even now.

Have you been watching the Taiwanese series HIStory? Season 2 has just finished it's first story and it was adorable.

Thank for that - I just love knowledge, I love to learn and always appreciate people telling me new information. I was always painfully shy as a child/young adult but I've had a few strokes and nearly died after an op so now I have a mindset that life really is too short to waste, so I love to meet new people, learn new things and, MOST importantly of all, laugh a lot. :)

I feel bad that there aren't any comments. Your article was very interesting and I've been waiting for the series to end, impatiently waiting, so I could binge watch it. However, thanks to your article I think I might start it now anyway,

I like dramas like this - where there's an element of darkness about the 'heroic' characters. I often recall the 'Two Wolves' story and my late mum telling me -"feed them both and they'll both protect you". I think this is what these characters are doing, fighting with BOTH their wolves to avenge their loved ones. Thanks for an interesting article. :)

To be honest I don't mind that there will be no more BL dramas from China. I was getting really angry with the way they were ALWAYS ending up with horrible and/or sad endings.

Oh and the 'decency laws' also cover anyone with tattoos and also everything to do with the hip hop culture - apparently they're considered 'too decadent and bourgeois' to be decent and 'not in keeping with the 'core values of the Party'.

Here's the quote: "State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of the People’s Republic of China (SAPPRFT), reportedly wants new regulations that will order all TV shows to stop inviting entertainers with tattoos or using any elements from hip-hop culture, subculture (non-mainstream culture), and demotivational culture (decadent culture).

Radio and television stations in the country should strictly abide by four “Don’t” rules when it comes to inviting guests. They are:

Never use actors who are at odds with core values of the Party and lack high moral standards.
Never use actors who are indecent, obscene, or vulgar.

Never use actors who have stains, affairs, or moral issues."

Sadly these new, draconian, rules have only come in since their president was granted new sweeping powers.....I don't think it bodes well.....

Apparently ANY affection or showing of 'romance' between same sex couples is considered “abnormal sexual relations or behaviour”. Chinese censors currently put homosexual behaviour alongside incest and sexual violence and under their “abnormal sexual relations” bracket.

Also any actors who are gay, straight but worked in a gay drama now or before; is straight/gay and living with (but not married to) their partner, having children with their unmarried partners or having past sexual relationships with previous partners they were not married to are also considered 'sexual deviants' who, according to the censors/government, 'lack the required modesty' to maintain an acting/singing career and are all BANNED from working in the entertainment industry in the future - unless they can PROVE they've 'changed'.

So most BL dramas I think will now be coming from Taiwan, who has - somewhat - legalised gay marriage by allowing gay couples to register for marriage after two years living together. Not to mention that THEIR BL dramas, like most of Thailand's and Japan's, have happy endings.

Oh one more thing to tell you - I found out from a Thai friend, and researched this and it's true, that even Thailand is tough within the entertainment industry on LGBT entertainers. If an actor comes out as gay he's dumped from his drama - even if, in that drama, he is GAY. This has happened three times in the past 18 months apparently.

This is really a variety show more than a drama surely?

Are Korn and Knock together or not? If not, not watching...it would be weird! LOL!

I agree with everything you've said - I don't honestly don't think there's any comparison at all. It was just such a wonderful and believable portrayal.

This was THE very first drama I watched, then Kill Me, Heal Me. I think that's another reason why I love it so much. Until then I'd been watching animes and reading mangas (my daughter started my addiction there), but then I happened on this on Netflix and then the addiction to dramas started. lol! I've never really got over it, not that I want to - I even progressed to Kpop!

I've almost worn the dvd of FfI out as i've watched it so often. :)

He was brilliant in Cruel City, but my most favourite role of his was Falling in Innocence - I LOVED it so much; I loathed his 'bad guy' in the beginning and then he changed into someone SO adorable......I rewatch it often and even begged my husband to buy me the (English subbed) dvd!

I really wasn't sure about this - I wasn't sure they could pull off the manga. But the trailer makes a mockery of that doubt and I now can't wait for it!
