I couldn't do it. I saw the bad rating but like to give a show a chance just in case, cause sometimes the ratings be trippin'...nope. This rating is spot on. I almost never drop a show. I made it through Bite Me and Fahlunruk, surely I could make it through. Honestly, there are just too many much better shows to watch and honestly rewatch instead of this. Why make a BDSM series and not make sure that both main leads are at least okay with kissing?! Also, they never get undressed. Don't make a show about sex and then don't show the sex... You cannot even blame the low budget. If they had had open actors, a halfway decent script and a capable director, this would not have been a bad series. But this was simply a waste of time, so I had to drop it.
I'm sure I'll get dragged for this but I'm confused how so many people on here are loving this series. It's starts…
Yeah, that threw me, especially cause he later says he would never force someone...but he did. They never indicate that he wanted it. I think someone made a good point, that he was numb to just about everything in life, including his body being used. I finished it, but it ended weird, you never got the sense that red headed lead, (blanking on the name and spelling) ever liked Odisan because mood never changes. He stays happy go lucky throughout, through getting stabbed, his 'dad' dying, his 'brother' trying to kill him and finally getting shot and almost dying. It wasn't worth going back, if you have already stopped. The end was weird and rushed, as well. I'm with gou. I'm over yaoi/bl using sexual assault as a romantic plot device.
I am again blaming writing and direction on this show not being as successful as it could have been. It's not the acting. The series needed to be a solid 14 episodes to tell the complete plot, with maybe a special to maybe give us like Saen's story. I cannot fathom, even with them changing this to a full 12 episodes and no seeming special, how they are going to add the third "Khun Yai" Professor in the next episode, wrap up the ghost stuff, tell us how everyone dies and how they are all attached to each other again in the "present" AND tell us what happens with the political stuff. That is alot for 3 episodes. Especially, because at some point before what ever happens to Kaewta in the past, they get the white house and live together, for a least a short while. So how? I'm actually enjoying this series, but will admit that the direction and writing have left this show hanging. Take the NC scene for example. As hot as that was (should be studied on how to look like you want each other when doing these type of scenes), it would have been better, imo, if when Khun Yai walked in, Kaewta actually tried to leave or avoid him. The last time they saw each other, as far as the audience knows, was on the steps with Kaew rejecting Yai. They should have shown more of Kaew being broken hearted. Should have shown maybe time passing a little and Yai not showing up because of the political stuff and Kaew missing him. Then when Yai walked in, Kaew tries to escape, but he has locked the door. Then Kaew tries to talk his way out, turns away to avoid looking at Yai because he wants to give in. Then in come Yai for the kill with a neck kiss and they show Kaew literally losing control because he loves and wants Yai so much. Then that passionate NC scene would have flowed better then Kaew just giving in. ORRRR you don't even have Kaew reject Yai on the steps and Kaew decides to be with Yai. Then that NC would flow better. But to jump from, "No, I don't like you and you should leave me alone!" to naked and unashamed is jarring as a viewer. I also need someone, anyone to take the fact that Sophee put glass in the dessert and purposely fed it to Ruedee more seriously. Saen, I needed you to have at least warned Yai about Sophee or at least been like, I'm going to keep a better eye on her and her maid. It was just too crazy a thing for someone to do and they be like, oh well, that is just Sophee, she isn't a good person. Anyway, while I'm looking forward to seeing more, I'm not sure if I trust that this will have a good ending, in not in the, I don't think they end up together, but in a there is so much being left up in the air, how in the world are they going to resolve everything?
Are those hair extensions or a wig on Babe or did he grow them for the part?
Both, Babe grew his hair longish, but not as long as the hair shown. I'm pretty sure most of it is wigs and extensions, but he grew it out enough to make it blend really nicely.
My only concern is how they are going to show all of the elements seen in the behind the scenes as well as the trailer and in flashbacks in the limited amount of episodes they have left. I'm loving the show so far, but this feels like it needs to be at least 13 episodes to resolve everything at this pace with out ruining the story. I still have a mountain of questions, and we still haven't seen what Sophee does to Kaewta, why Sophee would then kill herself, what happens to Yai in the past? How are not only their fates tied together, but also Ruedee, Saen and Nanny? How is Sin Saen son, when he is dead and a ghost? How long could they have lived in the white house before they died, enough to make it where all the ghosts are tied to? And how do they get to be together in THIS life? I'm sure there are more questions I have but these are just the basics and they haven't gotten them to be in a relationship yet, let alone to the stage of living in the house together, seemingly happy, with no political intrigue afoot! I assumed time skips would happen, but I'm nervous how they are going to pull this off. Outside of that, I'm really enjoying BillyBabe, especially Billy. That confession was top tier romantic. And any time Billy wants to go shirtless, please allow him.
I think this was a good enough show that expanded, it would a hit. The topic/plot is interesting and fresh, but in this format, too serious of a subject to explore appropriately. They didn't explore enough why Tae Min went from being a champion swimmer to drown in a pool he could stand in and then back to being top of his game. This subject deserved more care from the psychological stand point, but where interesting subjects to explore. I also needed more about Yu Bin's feelings for Lin as well as his life, cause he also seemed to be dealing with some mental health issues. Would love to see this story explored fully.
This deserves a higher rating. I definitely love that we spent all of episode 7 in the past. I need the back story of the original love couple in order to see what "present" Khun Yai is so in love with Kaewta. I mean, we are already at episode 7 and nothing has happened with them truly yet. I definitely feel like this should have been a 13 episode series, because seems to have so much story to tell. And I want it all, the political stuff, the crazy relatives who are just evil to be evil. And then the love story, which so far has been great. I just need the puzzle pieces to start coming together faster since we only have some many episodes left. Hopefully, after the tending of the wound, we will have them together. Also, Sophee and her minion are annoying. And isn't Khun Yai like her cousin or something. Either way, she is too pressed for someone who has never been her man.
It doesn't feel like we talk about this show enough. It is brilliant and so well acted. Off as the vulnerable asshole is so compelling. Gun with his all over the place emotions. Dew with the falling in love vibes, but he feels like he is hiding something. Nuchy needs to direct OffGun forever more. The only part that got on my nerves was how long it was taking Jira to get washed. Standing at the sink and splashing water on himself? Standing in the shower with the pissy clothes on instead of striping the second he got in the bathroom. EhhhYuck! Other than that, I'm loving the maelstrom of emotions of this series. Cannot wait to get deeper in and find out where this story is going to lead us. And if it will end with any of them together.
This was okay, especially if you are just getting in to BLs. But this feels like something that would have been more successful 4-5 years ago. Even though we got "kissing" they were almost always shot like angle kisses, which is just weird for 2025. KBLs are doing better for free on You tube right now. I felt really bad for the boss, cause out of the three, I only really rooted for him and the bestie, even though it was obvious who the ML would end up with. It's an easy watch, don't go in expecting much especially if you are a BL expert.
This should have higher ratings, but alas, folks cannot take a story that builds. I am glad to be more in the past now. I don't want to come back to the present until we get the complete back story. I want to see how they go from Kaewta being annoyed by Khun Yai to being so in love they make a promise that connects not only their lives together but also Saen, and Nanny. That is a heck of a promise! I'm loving it so far, although the part with the whip was too long for me. Don't get me wrong, I liked the supernatural action, I just need the scene to not be as long. I would have preferred more time in the past or at least with Kaewta expressing his feelings of confusion for all that is going on.
Man, I should have waited to binge. Waiting another week for the last two episodes may kill me!!! I need answers!! Between Secret Relationships and this, Korea is the best this year in toxic, edge of your seat series! Sheesh!!!
Man, KBL's have come along way. Remember the days of Color Crush and Where Your Eyes Linger, where you would get one half ass kiss at the very last episode of a really short series (don't get me wrong, I loved both of these series). Now, we are getting choking, incest and and a NC montage! Who would have thunk!? 2025 you keep on surprising me!
This week finally clicked for me that Kaewta is the present isn't slow, but soft...protected if you will. I don't feel like naive is a good word to describe him. It's more like despite not having a father, nothing "seems" to have affected him in life so far. He is just a kid who likes to draw and dance, has a best friend and is studying art. Nothing to stressful has happened so far in his life (makes me think Dad died really early), even his family being in debt at the beginning didn't seem to impact him. I also think, he is the kind of person who lets everything just flow. Even if the unexpected happens, like getting the house. He doesn't look to deeply, "it is what is and if that changes, so be it" But now life is getting weird. You got the hot guy who came out of no where, the crazy weird and intense dreams that aren't letting up, and a complete heifer who gives you the wiggens just by being present. Too much crazy stuff at once, so I hope he will have to start "reacting" to his life. Especially with Sophee. I needed him to be like, who is this chick and why is she in my house talking to me like this. I found it strange that even for someone who is evil and used to getting her way because she is rick, she is still a female in the past speaking to a male and I don't think historically she would have been as direct and abrasive as her character is. But I think Kaew not doing about it, goes to show more of his personality. He's just sort of soft and willing to take other's crap, just because. I am hoping to see him develop, character wise. I want to see him get revenge on Sophee for what she did to him in the past and the present. I will say, I do want more of the story, especially of the past. How did they get together, especially when they show Yai not realizing he liked men before meeting Kaew? For me, although the love scene was shot beautifully (shout out to Babe's top tier peach) and was great over all, because we don't have the HOW the end up together or even what part of their relationship that scene takes place, it felt jarring for lack of a better term. I will say, it feels like the show is finding it's footing, and I really look forward to next week to see why Saen has powers!
This was an amazing first episode! I like that Gun looks his age here. Even his voice in this role is so grown up. I am digging Dew so far. I've never seen him act in anything before, but I can see his talented just in how he went back and forth with Gun/Jira in there scene. Everyone is acting their asses off already and I know it is but the tip of the iceberg. I cannot wait to see what Off's character had in store as it is soo different from anything he has done before. Side note: the OST is immaculate, just as it was in Not Me. Yeah, Nuchey! She knows what she is doing!
I totally agree with all your points! We definitely need more flashbacks. And the present Kaew feels rather passive.…
I don't think having no male figure has anything to do with him character development wise. And if it did, then the story should take time to show that. Like I said, I hope they give us more background on both of the Kaew's. But right now, present day Kaew comes off as spacey or dumb, and that should have nothing to do with whether or not he had grew up with out a father.
The way I screamed through the first half, because what do you mean Park was going to frame Pheem to protect crazy ass Chet and then crazy ass Risa killed Dad's body guard and tried to kill Pheem all in the first 10 minutes of the episode!? One thing about this show, you are never going to be bored and you are definitely going to be spending time shouting at the screen. The thing that bothered me the MOST out this episode was that Pheem apologized to Than for what he did twice and never once said, sorry for shooting you in the back. Like the lying was the biggest deal out of this. And then, when Than was asking his dad for advice about them, he leaves out the shooting him in the back. I'm pretty sure that is pertinent information to help advise someone. I'm actually okay with Than forgiving Pheem and going back with him because love will really have folks accepting all kinds of terrible people and situations, so like his dad said, if you can forgive him then it's all good. But the not acknowledging the attempted murder is just...as crazy as this show! The other thing that is bothering me is the lack of police involvement in well...everything. Chet shot that house up well before his Dad died. The police weren't called? Chet and Risa were allowed to go to the hospital with out even the police being present to question them about what happened? I am also annoyed that the whole time Pheem was at that house, he did not think of or have a back up plan for what happened. Maybe he couldn't have predicted exactly that, but should have had a "If either of them try to take me down, I'm taking them down first/with me" plan ready to go. He is rich too, and with out his father's money too. He could have had private investigators following her, spying on her, collecting evidence. He should have had that CCTV footage taken before either of them got it, because he should have always been monitoring his father's, his brother's and his sister's house. I guess I just needed a higher level of fighting, if they were going to make the main bad guys this bad and Pheem's whole reason in life being taking them all down.
I totally agree with all your points! We definitely need more flashbacks. And the present Kaew feels rather passive.…
Yes!!!! He feels stupid! And maybe that is how present Kaew...but it was a poor choice writing wise. Cause I really like past Kaew, so far. I guess I just need to see more in each scene of his personality.
I love this series and I LOVE BillyBabe but....I think the direction for Babe's character at least for the "present", there is something in the way he speaks or something that I'm not a fan of. Although it seems like the "past" Kaew has more spunk maybe. And that brings me to my other quibble. I think this series is, for lack of a better term, lagging, because we are not getting enough time in the past per episode. The flashback today was barely different from the last one, so I feel like I want more. The dream sequence kind of helped in that I really want to see Kaew longing and not really knowing what he is longing for, that way it connects to the past. I want him to be just as afraid of Sophee, even more so than Ruedee, but not no why. I think if "present" Kaew, especially since being in the house, would feel more connected to feelings from "past" Kaew, it would flow better, if that makes sense. I still am liking the story and I want more, but I'm not sure yet if I like the way it has been structured so far. Billy is killing it, though. I'm sold on Khun Yai.
I think I figured out what is bothering me about the romance and how I'm probably not going to be able to forgive Pheem for shooting Than in the back. I wrote in my review for episode 8 that even though I was able to forgive the red flag that is Vegas for what he did to Pete and root for him in the end, but I couldn't figure out why it didn't feel the same this time. And I think I know why after rewatching My Stand In, another black flag of a ML who kills his partner. It because, at least with both of these characters, they did their terrible no good very bad things to their partners, before they had real feelings for them. At least in both Vegas and Ming's case, they didn't clue into how much they liked Pete/Joe until they had already done something horrible to them. And only afterward when they realized how terrible they were, they changed themselves. In the case of Pheem, he loved Than. I think if he had shot him in the back before they slept together, when it was really obvious that Pheem was just using Than, every thing that came after when they fall in love, I would probably be able to buy the romance again. But having Pheem shoot Than in the back while the audience is already bought they are a couple and everything is sunshine and rainbows is a poor writing choice. I will never believe that Than (or any sane person) would go back to Pheem, just on the strength of love. Getting shot in the back and then, even though it was done for my protection, drugging me and shooting me again in a unmarked grave just so you can enact revenge on some crazy people who don't care two shits about you...I'm pretty sure all the feelings I would have had, would be gone with the wind. I may forgive him and try and understand, but there is no way most people would go back. I like the story, it is a great messy drama, but they kind of killed the BL, which is nuts when you have DaouOffroad as the leads.
You cannot even blame the low budget. If they had had open actors, a halfway decent script and a capable director, this would not have been a bad series. But this was simply a waste of time, so I had to drop it.
