I'm feeling emotionally bruised after just the first 30 minutes... putting this on indefinite hold, because I think I need to be in a very specific mood if I'm going to enjoy this.
is this very sad? does it give an unhappy / open ending vibe?because I wanna watch this but I really can't handle…
It's a melodrama, and halfway done so it could end up there... But I'm not really getting the tragedy vibe, it could very well be more healing. It's hard to say.
I don't want to diss something for the sake of it, partly because a lot of people did enjoy it. But Arthdal Chronicles was in my opinion incredibly boring (a lot of its novelty rode off of it being fantasy, but I'm a fantasy buff so it was just a whole lot of redone tropes) and the ending was well, not an ending at all. Very badly paced and horribly written. If you haven't seen it already, you're not missing much. At least wait until (or if) that mythical sequel comes out, because even if they need to have a whole new cast, the current cliff-hanger is just horrendous.
I agree with you about Vincenzo as well. I tried like 3 times to watch it, because of all those raving reviews, but I just barely got past episode 5 at the most. It was so dull.
I don't watch things for the actors - I watch if they're interesting, and if it has familiar actors, that's simply a bonus. This upcoming drama looks like it could be very fun.
Really sucks not to have Song Joong Ki's new drama on beautiful 4k on netflix.
Glad they're not the ones doing the subtitles though. Sometimes the subs on Netflix are pretty bad (like if something needs a cultural context, they'll totally change the meaning to something that needs American cultural context when it would've been much better and much more fitting to change nothing)
When this drama insists on the loveline between Jegal and Ga Eul, it would unfavorably impact my rating of this…
Wait, are they? or are they threatening to? Because if they do, I'm dropping immediately (mental health support roles should not become romantic, no, not at all, that is a huge no, it's just wrong)
Came back here to see how it went. Glad I put this on hold half-way through, so now I won't be wasting my time. I'll be putting this on my dropped list now.

Yes it does feel like people are watching two different shows. I just don't understand how someone can like the SML, but some people do, such as yourself.
What are the best Asian Drama Sites? I have Netflix and Viki but have almost seen them all and am addicted. Thanks.
There's quite a few on DisneyPlus. Not sure about other sites, like Kocowa or Viu as they're not available in my country. There's a couple good ones exclusive to Amazon (also not available in all countries so check first) but they don't have much of a range.

He has exhibited nastiness to other people. He's perfectly capable of directing it to her if he so chooses. Also, his appreciation of her seems to feel kind of superficial (was too instant), so it will wear off eventually.
Yes, but the execution and acting are so well done here! Almost anything without the tag of mystery or thriller…
The thing about these kinds of dramas is that even if they are predictable, if they are executed well (good script, acting, camera, sound) it doesn't matter. In fact, good pacing is often attributed to a story hitting the (often subconsciously) expected story beats (read: predictability) of its genre. If it fails to hit those beats, the audience often feels something is lacking.
For example, something that takes an unexpected turn, changes genre halfway through, leaves its viewers high and dry, and as a result completely misses its target audience. That's my definition of an unpredictable story, and it's not very pretty.
Though if you still find it boring, that's fair I guess. I've encountered this kind of story dozens of times too, and some even involved themes of deafness. They can get stale.
But I think a part of the massively popular reaction to this particular drama is it feels it could be safe and respectful to a person with a disability. And I don't mean all characters living in an alternate universe where things are fair and happy, but where real problems are acknowledged and treated appropriately. Most dramas don't do this. Still early days, so it could all go downhill.
(disclaimer: I do not live with any kind of deafness, nor am I close to anyone who does. But I do have a disability, and it's one frequently portrayed badly and excruciating to encounter in media due to poor research. There's a certain vibe to these types of things.)
