A nice romcom with two seasoned actors that delivered. This wasn’t off the charts amazing, but it was certainly an enjoyable watch. A little predictable perhaps but still one to watch. I enjoyed the messages that this show incorporated. Showcasing anxiety, depression, ptsd, loneliness, failure and the positives of working your way through it. Finding support was also clear and I enjoyed that part of it. Of course there were some silly kdrama things. Like you don’t hear a person talking from really far away, but you do in dramaland🤣It lacked a little in the chemistry department but thats ok, it was fine. Honestly I felt a little more invested in Dr Bin and Hongran’s love life- it was cute. I was glad that the issues at the beginning didn’t drag on for the entire show, and when will these drama FLs learn to NEVER get in the car with a bad guy?!?!?! I also have to say, will people quit going on about how two mature looking actors look more like teens now than they did playing teens? cos no, they don’t- they have taken care of their skin and looks obviously- but they look nothing like teens. They look their actual age and are beautiful for it. can we stop with the nonsense and start celebrating aging well.I’m giving this a solid 9/10. Cute show, fun cast and good story.
Nice surprise this was a great drama. From the Viki comments it was clear the writers did their job in manipulating the viewers to dislike the ML, but folks theres always 2 sides to every story, and this was certainly the case here. Clearly the drama was about so much more than a bit of time travel, and I loved thr overall message of love, reconciliation, healing and learning to trust again. Finding out that the marriage wasn’t doomed was the greatest part for me. I hope some life lessons were learnt by all. Life is real hard, and marriage is not like dating. Theres a lot of the mundane, surviving pain, crisis and grief. You have to learn to effectively communicate and forgive. Serve each other and not expect perfection or someone else to take care of all your needs. The reconciliation part was my favorite but sadly it was too rushed and overwhelmed by the side stories, letting down the 2ML, who despite being decent eye candy honestly had some emotional issues of his own. She’d have had some issues with him too if they got married. Clearly the Viki comments were from teens who can’t grasp that married life is the same cycle of daily life for everyone.
I love the mains in this story, I do feel it tended to reflect badly on ML and would have loved to see FL be a little more humble at the end, never got the vibe that she realized how unfair she had been. But well acted, thats a fault of the script. A few plot holes here and there but overall a nice drama- and not surprising it felt like a good oldie classic. Could do with some of the new dramas following these patterns. Like honestly, My Demon what was the point? Once upon a time drama writers knew how to WRITE! lol
Oh geez. Started well. I was enjoying this typical cdrama vibe. Nice to have a FL with some skills, maturity and sass. Until she wasn’t. The final 2 episodes felt like total nose dive. ML acts his part really well. I love seeing him lead shows- it suits him much better than pyscho 2ML. But come on! His last two series now have done him dirty. Like what on earth happened to the writer and director. Why was that ok? I mean yes it gets wrapped up, but the FL suddenly did an about turn cos “why”?? Like honestly the self sacrifice trope by FL is so overdone. FL goes from a mature female to a total unkind woman. Dreaming of him but to his face just nasty. Why does ML have to chase her so much throughout?
The plot holes are hilarious. Dad beats the eggs and 20 seconds later they are fried eggs with yolk intact on a plate. 🤣 Miracle resurrection eggs. The Uncle is so pointless. The sisters return was again flat and made no sense.
This show did go on and start to drag with the repeated plot of FL push away the ML she secretly likes, so by the time they got together youre just exhausted. I was enjoying the seconds, even with stalker vibe childish behavior- but what was that confession from the secretary? It felt so off. There are SO many ways she could have caught him in a tension moment with a spot of chemistry. It was weird and ruined the build up by him just seeming so annoyed- that should have happened sooner, while he was protecting her from ex boyfriend, he could have kissed her by mistake and then backed off. Given a bit of chemistry - writing is so poor on this show. Its tropey and ridiculous but it gets a 7 for all the parts I enjoyed. Shame though, potential here for a better cdrama.
Well, the reviews are not that great it seems lol, looks like there’s a few salty feeling people 🤣🤣🤣
Honestly, its a sageuk. We know the drill. Scheming, plotting, murder, war, FLs who try to self sacrifice. Hiding from the ML who usually is a prince or king. I have to say despite the typical mosh bosh of darkness and misery that comes with these dramas- I do think the overall script and execution was good. FL isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but I’ve seen her in enough shows to understand how she is typecast, and this felt very up her street. It was nice to see the King not be quite so helpless as we usually get with right and left state counsellors seemingly running the country through their evil ways. The whole Qing thing felt a bit daft to be honest but I guess they needed a threatening over sear to act the minor threat.
The ending could have been better, but guys you know Kdramas and somehow writers haven’t caught on just how super sweet abd satisfying we NEED our HEA to be. 🤣😎
As far as cdramas go, this is one that certainly sits up there. Both leads acted phenomenal and did a great job with chemistry and all the things. There are some minor irritations but that is the fault of the writers and director.
This show has an easy going, simple love pace. Not hurried. Very little toxicity. If you enjoyed Love Me, Love My Voice, this has similar vibes. Its very slow to start. After a couple of episodes I was wondering why it was rated so high. Nothing was happening or grabbing any kind of attention. I don’t like that. I think dramas should start and finish strong. It picks up though pleasantly.
It does start to drag, due to the nature of the writing. The writers should have been more careful of FL’s constant pulling away from ML. Its fine in the beginning but after 2-3yrs, no relationship looks like that unless theres other issues. It was badly done, and disrupted the flow of a credible long term romance.
Did it finish strong? I’m not convinced- it finished happily and sweetly.
This show is jam packed with all of chinas eye candy though, so its very easy on the eyes lol. Do I want/need a spin off for the cousin and Lin Lin. YES.
Very slow and mostly weird drama. Even the suposed serious parts were funny due to the music or the acting. 🤣 The plot made zero sense, in the fact that it was weak not that you could understand- and the FL overacts the silly super smily even when moments called for sincerity and humility. I completed this because I was compelled to, but it got really boring and I skipped a lot as it dragged on. Its ok, it’ll pass time as a filler.
Why are reviews written before the drama even finishes getting the main space above?!?!?! I mean if you haven’t seen the whole show your opinion is void. lol
What an absolutely terrible script. Casting for FL was bad. ML did his best but the childish way they dress and directed this FL took this show down from any potential it may have had. She acted so indifferent the entire time, there was zero chemistry coming from her and the script as this draggy of all draggy shows progressed. Took the FL to a whole other level of stuck up. I’m so sorry that the rest of the brilliant cast were ruined by bad FL casting and script. What an utter waste of time. I’m glad to see the rating on MDL is more representative than viki holy crap this show is not worth the 9.4 thats on there. This is the issue with people rating a show they haven’t finished.
I was hoping to love this, but ended up dropping. I usually love this kind of small town complex drama type show, but I’ve given it 3 attempts now and just can’t crack it.
I gave this a 8.5/10, because there were just enough annoyances to loose a few points.
-FL childish behavior. Typical cdrama styling and behavior required of FL. I’ll never understand it. Girls in their 20’s don’t have to behave like little girls. -Quantity of drunk scenes. They loose their humor when it happens so often. Usually done to have confessions no one really believes because they were drunk. ok…. -Green Flag boyfriend treated like he was a child. Called a child by the gf. He was the most mature character in the whole group. -The secret keeping and decision making for the abortion. I’m sorry but as much as I believe final call on this has to come from the woman, its so obnoxious to assume that loving kind hearted bf isn’t adult enough to be a father. Honest conversations should be part of a relationship when pregnancy is in the cards. I did like how they progressed the dialogue after the “fight” but the way he found out, the way he was talked to was disgusting. Sure if bf had been a total scumbag, fine. But he wasn’t. He was a good guy that didn’t deserve that treatment, and it proves bad writing because that was a complete 180 on the character to treat him that way. -The MLs relationship progression started out ok but it got kind of boring real fast. -Fave couple was the stepbrothers - but she despite being a lot of fun was so whiney, it got so annoying. I would have loved to see them unite a bit faster than they did but overall thats where most the pizzaz was out of the 3 couples.
Overall it was enjoyable. Typical tropey cdrama, but I didn’t end up skipping much so that is a good sign.

ML is red flag right thru to the last episode so its very unbelievably far fetched but ok. An ok watch if you have nothing too do.
