I agree and i honestly would have preferred it like that too. There really was no purpose in showing his marriage to sol. They could have just showed hwal adopting a kid in a way similar to how Sol's father adopted him. You know something like marcel and klaus from the originals (not a huge fan of that show but i really liked klaus' character development). They could have had the same intensity of emotions from his adoptive son dying. The whole marriage part was unnecessary because
1) it played with our emotions and took the spotlight away from the main pair.
2) they never elaborated on what kind of marriage it was. Hwal and sang woon shippers think it was a toxic one and a forced one. Hwal sol shippers think there were probably good moments and moments of happiness but eventually the curse soured things between them.
But we never get enough context so what truly was the purpose? To make our hero angry for 600yrs? Could have been achieved in many other ways

Yeah exactly. I wish we had characters like jung in kdramas. The only characters that came close were eugene han from money game and the one in failing in love (ive forgotten his name but it was a short web series)

Same. I just skipped over most of the latter half of the show because of how much it was consumed by baek in ho. The first half though was perfection

I dont believe it was his call. It was the writer as can be seen from part of the script that was leaked. Scripts are prepared beforehand. And lee jin wook had always stated he would love to continue acting in voice. It's pretty much his most successful drama to date. I doubt he'd refuse to come back. Also a few minutes in the final episode would be fine too so long as they show us that he's alive.

The only exception was born again (that show still makes my blood boil). Never watched true beauty but from the clips that were being put on insta I definitely felt myself being pulled more towards han seo jun. But the show wasnt my thing so i never watched it.
The one show where i will NEVER understand the SLS is cheese in the trap 🤣 man i absolutely hated baek in ho's character and how much time he was given in the show. It was so annoying to see such a beautifully complex character like our lead being pushed to the background all for the sake of in ho's many piano playing sessions. Ugh.
A show where i liked both leads was hotel del luna. The show was kinda meh towards the end but i liked IU's chemistry with both leads

Like i said, it's literally ONE character (if they choose to bring him back). There are so many shows that do that. Penthouse was different because people were continously dying and coming back that it got ridiculous. But if one character is brought back and if it's done right, then it can actually make the show even better.
Also you are assuming the head shot was a through and through one. But we never see a bullet leave. We never see a proper wound. There's alot of stuff the makers can play around with to make his come back logical

I dont think bringing back ONE character, who's death was vague to begin with, is considered pulling a penthouse. Im a doctor and i can tell you that surviving a head shot isnt impossible at all. It depends on where a person was shot, how deep the bullet penetrated, the extend of the intra cranial hemorrhage etc etc. There have been cases of people surviving head shots, face shots, falls from extreme and great heights. Seen the video of JFK's assassination? Now that is a killing head shot. And he was alive when he was brought to the hospital. Do kang woo's head shot was no where near that. It's definitely not impossible.
Plus this is drama world. Fiction. Anything is possible. If we wanted reality and rules of the world to be followed we wouldn't be watching dramas now would we?

No you misunderstood, i actually think voice 4 not being on the list proves it wasnt as good as the first 3 seasons. That the makers need to realize they cant just bring in a new male lead without giving the previous one any closure. Plus they should return the show to OCN since tvn ruined the dark tone it had

I also recommend the drama Circle. She's the main lead with yeo jin goo. They had cute chemistry

I knew about won bin and so ji sub turning down the drama. Had no idea park min young had also received the offer. To be honest PMY doesn't really come in these kind of dramas so im not surprised she turned it down. She mostly sticks to rom coms

Wait what? I dont know where you got your information from but at the time it was airing, the devil judge was the number 1 show in korea (dont know about netflix) but the ratings were very high within korea.

As someone who enjoyed both happiness and hometown, i have to disagree with your comment. Happiness is a very different show and from the very start we knew it would have romance. While hometown had a very different feel to it.
I think 8.8 for happiness is fine but this should be 8.8 as well.
