I loved hot stove league too! Ive been a namgoong min fan for some time now but this show made me appreciate his acting even more. Regarding the devil judge, i actually considered dropping it at episode 7. Then i put it on hold and watched some other shows (my beautiful bride, rewatched my mister for the 4th time). But then I was like "come on, it's ji sung, you gotta at least finish it" which is why i am now currently watching it and at episode 12. It's not bad to be honest but i fee like we could have done without jinyoung's character as a whole. This isn't criticism on his acting. He does well with what he's given but like you said, most of it seems like forced conflict just to make something similar to beyond evil. Also while the show was airing i read all these comments about the chemistry between yohan and sung ah and i just....don't see it. She's definitely someone to be pitied but i don't see any chemistry between them. Nothing beyond the usual protagonist vs antagonist dynamic. My biggest issue is what they have done with judge oh. The small moment we had with yohan teaching her to dance showed the adorable chemistry between the two actors. I feel like the show would have been better off with yohan and judge oh as the mains. But this is just my opinion and again im not hating any of the actors involved in the drama. They've done well This drama gives me slight "the purge" vibes and i like the purge movies (not all though)
So the ML ends up with his fiancée or that police officer ?
Im surprised people are even asking who he ends up with when this isnt even a love triangle. To quote from the drama, do hyung is a straight forward ruler. He loves one person and will do so for the remainder of his life.
If you are planning on watching this show, you should know that the male lead is completely and wholly devoted to his bride. And she to him. The detective is no second lead. I have crossed the half mark and i find the love story very poignant. It just takes your breath away. However the love story is told mostly in flashbacks since the bride is missing and our male lead is looking for her. This is not romantic drama in the sense dramas of that genre are. This is a action thriller, this tackles certain dark subjects. The romance is there since obviously do hyung's love for joo young is the reason why he's willing to search the ends of the earth for her. But that's not all there is. I personally love the show so far
I started watching this drama and im currently more than halfway through it. Since i have seen that much i can clearly say there is absolutely NO chemistry between the detective and do hyung. I have absolutely no idea why people here shipped them in the first place. It would have destroyed the show for me if the makers tried to make them a couple. I love both the leads together. I do not find the female lead annoying, not in the slightest. What does annoy me is how the vast majority of comments under any kdrama are "the FL is so annoying". Joo young spent most of her life hiding herself. That's literally her character. She hid her poverty from her classmates in high school. She hid her past from do hyung. I can understand why she would run away once she knew that everything had been revealed to the one person she was desperately keeping it from. I cant even imagine what many women like her who are forced into human trafficking must go through. Living with the constant fear of someone finding out about their past. I completely understand and empathise with the female lead. In no way is she 'annoying', retarded, or moronic. She's human and she's terrified. She's been through a lot. People commenting here with a lack of empathy for her (and other similar characters we see in other dramas like law school) need to try and imagine what it would be like. So if anyone is hesitating to watch this drama because of these comments or because they fear they'll get second female lead syndrome, stop what you are doing and watch the show. There's not SLS here. Decide for yourselves. So far this show is getting an 8.5/10 from me.
I agree about your point on Lee Min Ho. I've seen a few actors like him such as Yang Yang. Their own personalities…
Ah is that how it works? My bad :P in that case i watched the heirs though i skipped quite a bit of it. but well for the rest i definitely havent seen the shows they are in
Well i mean technically jun ji hyun plays an antagonist in ashin of the North
I feel like she definitely went from anti hero to antagonist when we keep in mind all that happened in kingdom s1 and s2. So many innocent lives lost. I feel like for ashin its just collateral damage. So until we get another season of kingdom, I'm gonna think of ashin as the antagonist.
Personally i havent been able to get into any drama that has: 1)son ye jin: i can see that she's a good actress but the plotlines of her shows aren't my thing. Waiting for her to be in the kind of show i like to watch
2) song joonki: somehow regardless of what role he plays, all i see is him and his somewhat baby face. Also he lacks a menacing air in Vincenzo which is why i couldn't watch it and dropped it. In innocent man i felt like the female lead overpowered him in terms of acting and i ended up dropping that too. He was fine in dots, the only show with that i was able to complete. But i didn'tparticularly like that show either(obviously this is only my opinion, he's popular and many people like his acting)
3) lee minho: his acting gets redundant. Every time i try to watch a show with him in it, i get the distinct feeling that im not seeing the character but the actor behind the character. I wish he would lose himself in a role just once. But he doesn't do that. He's always poised, his crying face more artistic than an actual show of emotions. And thing is, i do see that he has potential because I'll catch a glimpse of something but it'll be gone within a few seconds. He simply does not 'become' the character.
4)Kim soo hyun: im going to try his new upcoming drama One Ordinary Day, but i havent been able to get into his shows till now.
5)Shin se kyung: I just avoid her shows. She really needs to improve her acting.
6)Cha eun woo: same goes for him. He needs to improve and a lot at that. I cant feel any of the emotions his character is supposed to be feeling
That's the good thing about opinions, there is mostly never a wrong one because it's subjective. For example I…
Its really amazing how people have such differing opinions. If you look at it, its kind of interesting how human minds despite belonging to the same species can like or dislike completely different things. I just find the human mind so fascinating! For example, my mom and sisters absolutely loved crash landing on you but couldn't get past the first the episode of my mister. While i loved my mister and couldn't really watch crash landing on you. Its really thought provoking how such differences exist even in the same family
Goblin had a terrible script? Okay lol....i really dont like it when people give statements like they are facts.…
Poor child has so many issues that they lash out and attack another person's professional and personal life to make themselves feel better. Dear, please stop. All this aggression and bitterness isn't good for you. Have a good day (or not since you might actually take offense to be saying that as well given your childish responses). We all have better stuff to do
Interesting, I haven't seen them though so I wouldn't know
I take overhated shows to mean those shows it has become almost mainstream to hate on when they really aren't that bad. Keeping that in mind, i really do think stranger, Beyond evil and voice do not belong here.

....you know from your comment it actually sounds like you are the one who's 11 since you obviously did not comprehend what i wrote. Why? Were the words too difficult for you to understand? Lol. A kid is telling me to read a book. Why dont you take your own advice and while you are at it, re read my comment and try to understand what i wrote? Cuz im pretty sure i said that simply because you disliked a show does not make it "terrible". Im not in the least interested in what you have to say when you cant even spell how correctly. Im not from the entertainment industry, i am in fact a doctor and i have no interest in the process of drama making so spare me the analysis. You don't like the drama? Great. Good for you. But you are no authority on good or bad scripts. Get over yourself.

I don't know how many 19 yr olds you've met, i don't know if you're asian or not. But I can tell you that my sister is 18 and she acts quite similar to eun tak. Being slightly playful, excitable and teasing does not make you a 14 yr old (as you put it). She portrayed her character in a way that we felt every little emotion she felt. I dont know why people think that once you are over the age of 18, you have to act like a mature adult all the time. There is no 'right' way of acting like a 19 yr old. Everyone is different
They meet after bei ye serves his sentence in jail. We dont read about their reunion, we found out through a letter that chen nian wrote to the detective
Because it has become 'cool' to hate it. People have a problem with the age difference between the leads but the…
Precisely. And it's not like he married her when she was 19. They got married when she was 29. He never used his age to suppress or abuse her in any way. Had he done any of these things i too would have had an issue with the age. But he's really respectful when it comes to her. So i dont understand why people were so offended
For me, personally, i don't think the shows stranger, beyond evil and voice belong here. These shows were never considered to be overrated or overhated. Everyone (myself included) considers them to be masterpieces and they received critical acclaim. No one says anything bad about them. I dont really understand why people would vote for these 3 shows to be on this list. Perhaps they didnt really understand the point of the list? I feel like the ghost detective (hated for "plot holes"), liar game ("not as good as the manga or the Japanese version"), money game ("too complicated"), tell me what you saw ("unrealistic villain") and imitation (to be honest im not sure why this show was disliked but it was a good show and didn't get the recognition it deserved) should be on the list. Shows that were actually bashed when they are pretty good and don't really deserve the hate.
The entire cast was the reason. Please don't act like every single person wasn't giving it their all. Kim go eun has even repeatedly said how she felt sad about being ignored by the audience when her role was incredibly demanding. She had to play a 19 yr old and a 29 yr old and the pain of loss she showed, i wouldn't have been able any of it were it not for her acting
I will never understand why Goblin with that terrible script is so beloved. In my opinion, the most overrated…
Goblin had a terrible script? Okay lol....i really dont like it when people give statements like they are facts. Have you considered that others may actually think Goblin has a brilliant script? You could have simply said that you didn't like the show or that it didnt resonate with you. This was a really mean comment. The reason why the show is even on this list is because lots of people loved it. I loved goblin but disliked true beauty and heirs but im not gonna go and say stuff like "it was a terrible show/it had a horrible script" because i know that's simply not true otherwise no one would have enjoyed and it wouldn't have been popular.
Goblin is a good drama honestly. It is for sure overhated idk why.
Because it has become 'cool' to hate it. People have a problem with the age difference between the leads but the same people had no problem with age differences in shows where the male lead was younger than the female lead....or when the actor playing the male lead was actually closer in age to the female actor. For example i dont see people complaining about the age difference in shows like secret love affair, my roommate is a gumiho, hotel del luna, tale of the nine tailed, i can hear your voice etc. But in goblin suddenly the age difference was all people could talk about....the show had so much depth, so many moments that touched the audience but all people could talk about was the age difference. Also the whole "the female lead is annoying, the female lead is not pretty enough". I was like...did we even watch the same show?
