So after Rattan, Jing Tian and Zhang Bin Bin are back in another drama 😊. Based on the teaser alone, it looks interesting. I've added it to my plan to watch list.
I'd love if he got with that girl, she's so witty and kinda matches him
I like Xu Mei Ying's character. She is a wise woman. I like that she doesn't force herself on LJL, and even gives him good advice/food for thought. Shows she cares, at least as a friend/sister.
I kept wondering how Bai Ying Sheng could have flipped so quickly and in such a short time, like a 180 degree turn. I understand that what Yun Shu did to him was horrible, but it doesn't seem to be enough for him to change like that. It did cross my mind though, that this might just be part of RSB's plan. Poor LJL, he's left in the dark all along! Though in some sense, I understand why she did not tell him her whole plan. I wish that in the succeeding episodes, RSB will be more open to LJL and they would grow as a power couple.
As for Grandma Rong, old habits die hard. After everything that had happened, she still can't let go of her controlling tendencies! I hope she would improve later on.

I also like the improved relationship between most of the Rong sisters.

💯 agree! That's why I really like what Shanbao said to Shen Xiang Ling in ep 22, that she's glad that she and LJL are like-minded in wanting to protect what's dear and precious to them, i.e., Rong family and the city of Linji, and what happens in Linji affects everyone who lives there.

Thanks for pointing out that people have different tastes 👍. I would also add that we have diverse PoVs shaped by different factors, so we might be looking at the same scene and yet interpret things differently (slightly or vastly different).
Episode 22: I'm so proud of our girl RSB for standing up to Grandma Rong and exposing her for what she has become! It's long overdue and she knows it.
There are many quotable quotes in this episode, and one of my faves is what RSB said to Shen Xiang Ling about LJL and herself, which I'm paraphrasing: "He (LJL) was not wrong. I'm protecting the Rong family's domain, while he is protecting the city of Linji. If Linji's sky becomes dark, the Rong family will also be affected...He is fighting for justice and righteousness...I'm glad that in this aspect, we are like-minded."
I like how the case is handled in eps 20 and 21! RSB is smart in using that tactic - indirectly get Yun Yin to drag Wan Wan to court and identify Ms. Yang, and then later on confirming Ms. Yang's identity herself (reversing what she said earlier), thus helping to close the case at this level (because there are bigger fishes behind it). And the Rong family reputation is preserved, thus it's a win-win.
Yun Shu is showing more and more of her scheming self.
Hi! I recently finished this. There are romantic lines in this drama, but they're like side dishes to the main course, as they're secondary to the main story line.
