I' m glad to see "My Boss" in Viu as well, though they're behind in the episodes. Maybe they have not finished translating the subtitles? Just a guess. Watching another drama, so I plan to start this after more episodes have been aired. I'm also looking forward to "Our Interpreter". This looks like a good start to 2024 for Chen Xing Xu 😊.

Yeah I saw the references of 佛朗机 referring to Westerners in general. But I think in this drama, we can assume they're Spanish if we go by the language they're speaking. But if we go by the character description in Baidu, then she's Portuguese (btw I can't seem to find it in the link you shared). In either case, they're Westeners 😊.

Chu Si Yu was telling his brother, Chu Si Jing, the following:
1) Whatever happens, he should not worry about him.
2) For unknown reasons, he contracted some skin disease while in the island.
3) He's giving him a map that has many suspicious/questionable things in it, so he will continue to investigate. He will return once he finishes his investigation.
4) Since his mission started, the Guan Dong area had been in a chaotic situation, so he was forced to stay in Wu Mu Island, and again, tells him not to worry.

I also looked up 佛郎机 and here's an entry in Chinese Wikipedia that says it is an old reference to Spanish people:

Same here! I like the main leads too, but LTG is one of my fave characters in this drama, along with Yu Shi San, Yang Ying and Yuan Lu.

Yes, it's not unrealistic. NYZ said (I think more than once) that their mission is "jiu si yi sheng" (9 chances of dying and one chance of living). But of course, it would be better if the story did not end that way.

Well said. Imo, LTG's character has a lot of potential for growth and development, but these were not maiximized. They focused too much on his obsession.

Agree that there is mutual respect between LTG and YY, not mention respect for both RRY and NYZ. I would like to think that in the long run, they would grow as a couple and fall in love with each other, even have children of their own. I wish they had included some scenes on them, their children and how they are helping the young emperor. I'm glad there are others here who have the same sentiment.
