Just finished epiosde 12 and I'm enjoying it. I like mysteries and this just fits the bill (reminds me of Judge Bao 包青天 series). There are interesting cases and investigations, smart and multi-layered characters, and excellent fight scenes. I like Zhou Yi Wei and Wang Li Kun's portrayal, and WLK is pretty and has that refined look. Hope this will be sustained, and I'm looking forward to the succeeding episodes.

There is the FL's ex-bf, but he's not a nuisance, the love triangle is weak since the story is more focused on the FL and ML's story and romance.

They had a fight but no break-up since they got together.

I finished GGS2 3 days ago, and I like it! The story's pacing was quite slow at the start, that I put it on hold to watch something else. But good thing it picked up at around episode 14 or 15, and from then on, I was able to enjoy it and looked forward to succeeding episodes. I love the chemistry and sweet moments between Hu Yi Tian and Li Yi Tong, it's believable, and I was rooting for them!
The supporting characters did well and they have many humorous interactions, and the soundtrack is great. It's not perfect, but overall, it's an enjoyable watch for me.

Note that I watched this as a stand-alone drama since I haven't watched GGS1, so there's no comparison.

You mean the version with the 2nd ending will be shown in 3 days?

So I came back to watch this (after finishing GGS2) and soldiered on, and the story somehow picked up again in ep 29 or 30, despite it being a bit rushed. I think it's a good ending not just for A Mai, but also for Nanxia and Beimo, because they would have peace, at least for a few years. I just felt sad for Tang Shao Yi, even a little bit for Chen Qi 😥! Although A Mai did not end up with anyone (good decision in leaving the ML, imo he doesn't deserve her, especially after his actions in the last few episodes), I like that she didn't settle and she's free, as the ending showed her riding out to have her adventure (maybe she would meet CYQ, who knows?). I heard there is a 2nd ending with Chang Yu Qing, it would be great if they released it, or have a spin-off featuring A Mai and CYQ 😊.

Agree, glad that A Mai didn't settle :) Although she didn't end up with anyone, I think it's the best ending for the drama. It would be good to have a spin-off featuring A Mai and CYQ.

I stopped at ep28, switched to focus on the other drama that I'm also watching (GGS2), and then I will come back to finish this one. Same as you, I will soldier on, because I want to know/see how the story will end.

Same sentiment on the Crown Prince's death. As I said in my other comment, it's like the scriptwriters looked for an easy/convenient way to get rid of him, it's just so sudden and abrupt. So now it's one "hurdle" down and one step nearer to the throne for the ML.

The ML's mother has that scheming side to her, which became obvious in the recent episodes. And agree with you on her thinking process. I also prefer that she end up either with CYQ or alone.

I want to see more of CYQ!

Given the revelation in episode 25, it's highly unlikely that FL will end up with ML, which is fine with me, as I think they're better off as friends or comrades; I can't see them as lovers. And I didn't like SYZ's plan of keeping it a secret from A Mai, because he's only thinking of himself. If love angle is to be pursued further here, then I would still ship A Mai with Chang Yu Qing, but not sure if it'll happen since they're from opposing sides.

And as to what the crown prince did, I didn't see that coming! Seems so sudden and abrupt. Don't know if it's the same as in the novel, but it seemed to me that the scriptwriters looked for an easy way to write off a character.

26 episodes in and the emperor is still as unkempt as in the 1st episode 😄.  But seriously, Yin Zhu Sheng is playing the role of this emperor convincingly, whether he's scheming, doubting others, acting crazy or showing diferent emotions.

I like the confrontation between A Mai and Chen Qi in episode 20, it was quite intense. And the way she acted out her emotions in the next scene is really good. Chang Yu Qing is showing his sweet side more. I just wish there were more scenes showing the build-up of their relationship.

Just finished episode 22, so I'm all caught up now. That episode ending was such a cliff-hanger! I'm awaiting eps 23 and 24 tomorrow.

Yeah that's the literal translation of the title. They could have gone with that title, or maybe "Ah Mai's Journey" or something like that.

In ep9, their failed attempt to escape the labor camp and the ensuing scene/dialogue is quite funny 😁.

And then there are some hilarious moments between Ah Mai and Tang Shao Yi, I think in ep10 or ep11. 😂. I'm on episode 13, almost catching up to the latest episode!

Talking of power couple, good observation on similarity with Wonderland of Love.
