Excellent review ; though the, I assume, play on the Katy Perry song in the “byline(?)” had me wondering until I read the entire review. Ming seems like such a classic “Macguffin” that I’m surprised there was discussion about “Who is Ming”
I wonder if this is an old script or old idea that they made into a script as it seems very strange that no one is using their translation function on their phones to facilitate communication; if not for verbal, then at least written. The translation function could even be used for humor—as it was in the K-movie New Year Blues.
In the novel the ml is Li Yuangui, the 14th brother of the current Tang emperor(same father different mothers);…
Main culprit found and both main characters alive and well. Looks like there will be a romance between the two main characters—slow burn so far—but I’m not far enough along to know for sure
I have a doubt id Xia Huai jin is a prince novel ? And did he know how to fight in novel please clarify me
In the novel the ml is Li Yuangui, the 14th brother of the current Tang emperor(same father different mothers); he learned martial arts and military strategy and tactics in the hope of helping his brother the Emperor
In the novel both the main leads are alive and well at the end (not actually there yet, but I’ve peaked at the end🙂)
However, In the novel, the fl is the young daughter of the chancellor and the male lead is a younger brother of the emperor; they both get involved in the investigation of the Princess’s murder through a string of coincidences. There is also a 3rd principal investigator in the novel—a Taoist nun who is also related to the imperial family
Don’t know if the drama will keep this, but the denouement in the novel is very “Agatha Christie”
no in the novel she is a prostitute which obviously won't pass censorship so they gave her a softer storyline…
Towards the end of the novel one finds out that she was a bookstore “manager/clerk” who sold two parts of the book everyone wanted, so she was abducted because they hoped that there was more than one edition of the book and she would know where that was. They made her a “sex slave” to hide what they were really interested in (TLC never figured this out)
