I love to write this line for our Ji Yunhe........................ Ji Yunhe.... you will be always remembered.....…
All she wanted was to be free. Free from being trapped in that valley. She did not care too much about being a trainer of strange creatures brought to the valley.
Training Changyi was just another challenge, something she saw as a necessary evil, to please her masters; and she had plenty of those.
At the end of the drama, she found freedom, love and happiness.
Her life is a parable that mirrors our own. We may not be trapped by posion, but many things in the modern world can easily cause us to lose the freedom we so cherish. Buying the wrong house and getting stuck; marry the wrong guy and getting stuck; chose the wrong career and don't know what to do. These, and many more, can easily lead to perception of being imprisoned.
May we somehow, problem solve our way through life, and find the freedom, love and happiness that Ji Yunhe found. Somewhere in a little corner, there is a Changyi waiting for us. If we look hard enough, we will find him.
Changyi need not be another man or woman in our lives. Could well be the same person who may change, if we ourselves are willing to change. The Merman's pearl could well be our will to change, and chart our own destiny.
1. Article basically said it was a happy ending. Many people can accept this.2. But, what many viewers in China…
Wow! That is an excellent question. We know that LL is from the Valley of Ten Thousand flowers. She is a butterfly spirit, not a normal human being. I am not entirely sure what species KM belongs to. He took over as the Immortal Grandmaster, so he is likely a different species from LL. But, it seems she got pregnant at the last episode. I am told, this is different from the novel. But, it is ok. They got their happy ending too!
We know that for the entire 1st quarter of 2022, the Ji Yunhe character is the number 1 character. In 5th position is Changyi.
Now, the link above shows that for the week from 18-24 April, Ji Yunhe still ranked number 1; Allen ranked 3rd and 4th for the characters he portrayed.
Here, please read this article. It substantiates what I first believed about the ending, how Ji Yunhe got her…
1. Article basically said it was a happy ending. Many people can accept this.
2. But, what many viewers in China do not understand, and what many of us do not understand, how did Yi Junhe got that mermaid tail. We have discussed this many times. I made a post about this many days ago, even prior to the publication of this online article.
3. Basically, my premise was that the final pearl that Changyi gave to Ji Yunhe transformed her, after being 300 years in her body and her body in that lake for 300 years.
4. In this article, the actor for Tianjun confirmed that, that the pearl transformed her.
5. The article also gave further reason why this is so, stating that if we had been watching the series carefully, we would know that this pearl is extremely powerful. The article quoted the immortal grandmaster as saying that the pearl is very powerful and can repair and regenerate life. Actually, without even quoting the grandmaster, we should know. The pearl was able to prolong Ji Yunhe's life when she was about to die.
Hence, the proposation that such a powerful magical object being embedded in her body for 300 years, coupled with that body trapped in that fiery place, changed the structure of her body is something totally plausible.
The article also contain that document which has been circulated around, saying pretty much the same thing, that the pearl did the trick of transforming her from a fox spirit to a mermaid.
So, how does this relate to the ending? For sure, it shows that the ending is real and not an imagination of Changyi. If she has that powerful mermaid tail, and we saw how powerful tail is, when Changyi used it to injure Shunde, she could have easily used it to get out of the lava lake, by breaking open the icy crust of that lake.
Some of you say the ending in the book is better. I would like to offer an alternative view. By becoming a mermaid, it means they are now the same species. This was also mentioned by that article. It means we have no doubt what their children will look like. They will be merfolks, for sure, and not half fox and half fish.
In fact, we are not even sure if a fox and a half-fish copulate, they can produce kids. Biologically, when two different species copulate, not all of them can produce offspring, due to them having different DNA.
Secondly, Ji Yunhe becoming also a merfolk means she can travel the world with Changyi. In the water, they will be half human-half fish. On land, the final scene shows that they are capable of having human-like legs. So now, they have complete freedom to go wherever they want, whether on land or in the sea. Is not that what both of them want? To be together always and to have freedom in going wherever they want?
You can judge for yourself the quality of this ending.
Here, please read this article. It substantiates what I first believed about the ending, how Ji Yunhe got her tail, when I saw the trailer of final episode in Twitter, even before the final episode was aired. If you do not wish to know, please don't read.
In the spoiler box below, I make some comments about the article, all related to the ending and how she got her tail. If you do not wish to know, you do not need to read.
This is unbelieveable. Final day of telecast for TBW for Youku VIP members is 25 April. Yet, on 29 April, full 4 days after its final two episodes, Aiman index shows that TBW is still the number 1 webdrama in China. This shows that the lack of explanation in the drama itself as to how Ji Yunhe got her tail in the final episode did not impact its popularity.
First of all, this is the right place to post this. There is no one here, but Reba supporters, so we will not…
We cannot be absolutely sure if Baby will take it. It is up to her. But, I can say with 90% certainty, Reba will not take the role, if it is similar to the original Magic Blade first shown in 2012.
If they change the script, it will become a totally different story. Not sure if they would want to do that.
Bottom line, we can safely ignore this rumour. Chances of it happening is super low.
Sure. That will help. And somewhere in your video, also mention that the mermaid pearl given Ji Yunhe by Changyi,…
I have confirmed, the FACT that the pearl changed her body structure is no where mentioned in their final dialogue. I notice that in the final scene, when the director cut to the scene showing them by the cliff, their conversation did not start immediately. Hence, during this few seconds, you can show a caption, stating that according to a document circulated after its airing, the pearl that Changyi gave to Ji Yunhe, after a period of 300 years, transformed her body from that of a fox spirit to a mermaid. After getting out of the lave lake, she found Changyi.
Sure. That will help. And somewhere in your video, also mention that the mermaid pearl given Ji Yunhe by Changyi,…
Let me check, just to confirm. I do not think it is in their dialogue. It is my earliest speculation which I think you read, which is then confirmed by that document that was circulating around, plus another online article, all saying the same thing, that the pearl changed her body structure.
If it is no where found in the dialogue, maybe you can put it as a caption, by the side? A few seconds right before they met at the cliff in the final scene?
I am checking now, if this is stated in their final dialogue.
I’ve gotten a couple of people asking me about whether it’s a HE on the FMV I made for this drama. At this…
Sure. That will help. And somewhere in your video, also mention that the mermaid pearl given Ji Yunhe by Changyi, over 300 years, changed her structure from a fox spirit to a mermaid. Her powerful tail helped her break free from the lava lake. She found Changyi and they have a very happy ending.
Reba's number of Weibo followers has gone up by around 800k since TBW started. With LoA and PE this year, I'm…
PE will be shown on both CCTV and Tencent Video in China. Just imagine how many millions of viewers will be watching that one, and how many new Weibo followers she will gain. LOA going to bring her many new followers as well. 2022 will be a smashing year for her, even better than 2021.
Hello, I seriously don't know where to post? But, please excuse me if this post seems out of the context.. I want…
First of all, this is the right place to post this. There is no one here, but Reba supporters, so we will not be offending anyone.
The rumour that she will act in that drama has been floating around for a while. It is remake of an old drama called 'Magic Blade' in English. I watched it, and it is a very male dominated drama. The original novel is written by Gu Long. This guy is a very old school novelist. Lot of old Hong Kong wuxia dramas that are based on his novel, they all have very male dominated theme, where the ML is the hero and FL made to look like a supporting cast member. If we look at all of Reba's recent dramas, we can tell, she does not like roles that made the FL secondary to the ML. So, unless they change the script, she is not going to act in this remake.
Also, Magic Blade was shown not all that long ago (2012). Viewers may still have lingering memory of the FL there, and will compare her performance with the original FL.
Absolutely agree with you; no doubts about her ability. I hope Reba goes all the way to the top now.
Same here. CCTV would not have cast her in the lead if they do not think she can deliver.
Reading the synopsis above, we can tell, there will be lots of court appearances by her character, to convince the judge and jury that she has made her case (s) beyong a reasonable doubt. Facial expressions will be key; if she needs to act fierce or uncompromising in pressing her case, we know from TBW, she can deliver those expressions. If she needs to act gentle in dealing with students, we also know from TBW, how gentle Ji Yunhe was, with Changyi.
The synopsis also says something about cross border trial. Does she need to speak English? If so, great! Here is chance to show millions of viewers just how good her English is. She just needs a speech coach to teach her to speak English with better American or British accent (wherever that cross border trial will bring her to). Will they really shoot some scenes overseas? Like, maybe in Hong Kong?? If so, it will be so interesting for us to watch, to see her handle those kinds of situation.
Many people are saying that the last scene was Chang Yi's dream, well that is impossible. If he was dreaming he…
Totally agree with you. From so many different angles, just not possible that it was his dream, but the two of them actually sitting by that cliff, having a nice conversation and then challenging each other who can swim faster. A totally happy, romantic and creative ending.
I just confirmed. Filming wrapped up for Legend of Anle on Nov 12, 2021. The Long Ballad finished filming on 27…
That is exactly what I am talking about. If two dramas air on same day and same time, there will be competition. Viewers in China will have to chose to watch either of them, if example, two dramas are shown on Monday, 7 pm, in China. I think they like to watch things 'fresh', when it first airs.
So, it is not likely for LOA and PE to air at the same time. It is a direct clash. Dilraba's fans in China will be forced to watch one of them 'live' and the other one only later.
If they wish, they will need to air LOA at an earlier time slot and PE at a later time slot. It all depends on the contents of PE. If there are lots of violence and drugs related stuff, yes, they will show usually show it at the 10 pm slot, where the viewers will be mainly adults.
But if PE deals mainly with non-violent crimes, especially if these crimes are common and if the Chinese government wants to warn people of these crimes, they may actually show it at prime time, which is usually around 8 pm at night. And if the Chinese government actually want to use PE to lure more Chinese young people to study law and join the government service to fight crimes, all the more they will show it at prime time.
I am sure even now, Youku is keeping a close eye on PE, to see when exactly they will finish filming that drama and air it and what time of the day they will air it. The stated goal is to get it out in Oct. So, if LOA is ready before Oct, like in July/August, I am sure they would rather show LOA first, then IS. Between LOA and IS, it would be much safer for them to show LOA. IS clashing directly with PE is a non-issue.
Youku will not want to risk sending the wrong message to the Chinese government. Nor will they want to make Dilraba unhappy by having two of her dramas fight each other.
I just confirmed. Filming wrapped up for Legend of Anle on Nov 12, 2021. The Long Ballad finished filming on 27…
I just checked. Glory of Special forces is not actually a Youku production. Produced by smaller production companies who do not have their own streaming platforms in China. So, they streamed on Youku, Tencent and so on. Nevertheless, it does show that Youku is not afraid of letting another drama stream on its platform, even when it has it own blockbuster airing at the same time. The time slot may also have something to do it. Glory of Special forces is streamed at 10 pm on Youku. TBW is shown earlier. So, no direct competition.
Being a hero will be the same. It is co-produced by Youku and Mango TV. It is drug related. So, to show on TV, it will be shown at 10 pm in China. Likewise stream on Youku at 10 pm. So, no competition. Youku can easily stream LOA earlier, and there will be no competition.
I met you on the page of TLB.
