Sorry. Which did you drop? Pearl Eclipse or The Long Ballad?
It is a pity you dropped TLB. It just won a prestigious prize in the US, for the best TV drama series in the Golden Eagles TV festival awards, just a short while ago. And Dilraba won for outstanding young TV actress in TLB and Alen Fang, for outstanding young actor. You can see pictures of the awards in the "Photos" section above.

Titania, I watched it only once. But listening to the director, I was reminded that he is from Hong Kong. And made me realise that apart from having Reba in the drama, LOA and TBW share another common element. The director for TBW is also from Hong Kong!! Many of these HK diretors, they are really good in directing wuxia fighting scenes, as HK has a long history of doing these type of fight scenes.

Reba has had the privilege of working with the director of TBW three times (TBW, TLB and ELOD). And now, she has the privilege of working with another great Wuxia director. Just imagine the new acting skill she picks up each time she works with these great directors.

I will talk to someone I know from the MDL admin. See if it can be adjust downward a bit so entire drama title can be see and Gong Jun's head need not be cropped off.

Oh, yah, I see what you mean!! So, it has nothing to do the poster itself but the placement of the poster. It was posted too far up. Got it!!

I like the poster.
You know, I really did like the new poster. My first look, wow, It is really attractive. You can see my comment below, to someone who praised the new poster. I was not lying.

But, on my second look, I realised (not sure if you did), the poster is not very well cropped. The top part got chopped off too much. Hence, you see the top part of Gong Jun's head being cut off. You also see the top part of the drama title being cut off.

Ah that is great. Two sources better than one!

Totally surprised that nothing has been confirmed for the ML. Just wonder what is holding them up.

Reba's role, I have little doubt. But, with no confirmed male lead, and start of filming date, it just gives you the feeling that anything can happen, not all of which may be good

If her role is confirmed, at the very least, her studio should release a statement confirming that. This way, all her fans will know that this will definitely be one of her next projects.

Wow! This drama is going to be outstanding if the BTS is anything to go by! The characters in their costumes and…
All I can say, if a competitor wants to come head-to-head with LOA, it is asking for trouble. I think the chief director 成志超 is running this show. We do not have to worry too much about Rao Jun, the scriptwriter. I have the feeling, the chief director has been empowered to change anything that does not seem right. LOA will no doubt be one of the biggest hits of 2022.

Those of us who are Reba fans, we can just sit tight and enjoy the ride in 2022. She will have not one, but two big hits coming up.

Gong Jun will not be doing too bad either. He is sure of at least one big hit. And he has other very promising dramas coming up too, and any of those can also be big hit!

Very busy. We should be able to watch good dramas almost non stop

Yang Zi should have at least two airing dramas next year. But next year, cdramaland will be very crowded. Her dramas will come up against very strong competition. Since you do not like to compare, you do not need to worry about other dramas, just watch hers.

PE is not bad. But, I think it will not match up to TLB.

I think if you are waiting for all those dramas, you will have to wait till next year. There is not much time left in 2021. I feel sad for Yang Zi. 2021, she does not have a single drama aired with her as the FL.

If you are talking about something highly anticipated, it has to be Novoland Pearl Eclipse. People on that page waited for more than a year after filming was completed.

Marvellous women has less well known stars. But it is produced by the same person who did Yanxi Palace.

In MDL, both dramas have very decent ratings.

There are lots of good dramas around. More than enough to fill our time, while we wait for TBW and LOA.

There is a new kdrama, Happiness, a triller. Really nice!

Just historical dramas alone, I counted around 10 heavyweights, inclusive of some of those you mentioned. Some of these will surely be competing against TBW and LOA. I think both TBW and LOA will be in the winners column, when they compete.

The storyline for TBW is completely unique. And, for once, I see a FL patting a ML on the head. It is always the other way around. And LOA looks great! My pity to those dramas that come up against these two.

Next year is going to be a great year. There will be lots and lots of great historical dramas. It will be a boxing match of the heavyweights. And it will be so interesting to see who will be the losers and who are the winners.

For those of us who are Reba lovers, we are glad that both TBW and LOA are among the top 10 most anticipated drama list (according to articles that I have read). So, all the producers of these other dramas, if they could, I think they will try to avoid coming to a head-on collision with TBW or LOA.

Titania already posted a tweet which shows that Youku planned to release TBW in Q1 2022 and LOA in Q2 of 2022. Even if the deviate slightly, we should see both in 2022.

Great! Any more details? Post below saying it might be as a brother and sister.
Wu Lei has that kind of history, because he is child actor. And he got cast in so many dramas with actresses who are much older than him. But, I think TLB is the first drama where he is the ML, acting across a FL who is much older than him. In Fights Break Spheres, Li Qin was only in the supporting role.

Yes, Wu Lei and Reba can play a normal couple. The rational life, My fated boy, Find yourself, all these modern cdramas have FLs that are much older than the MLs.
