Folks, many of us do believe that they have already finished filming season 1 and 2. Those who feel that they only finished season 1, can you please provide solid evidence??
Thanks so much! Nice to see the three main characters in the same frame during the wrap up. They looked happy!…
As far as I am concerned, they have already finished filming entire drama for TBW, season 1 and 2. Anyone who says they only finished filming season 1, please provide concrete evidence. Like a YouTube clip, an official annoucement or something. Because, that is something we all like to know.
Allen is right now filming another drama. If they have yet to finish the entire series, they are in big trouble. Reba will have a long wait, which is not something she likes to do.
But, it is not entirely impossible. So, please, before anyone say only season 1 of TBW is finished, please provide solid, concrete and irrefutable evidence. Until and unless we see such evidence, it is a safer assumptioin to make, that they have finished filming the entire drama.
Season two has been completed I heard. Scenes from the second half of the book have been leaked. I loved the novel…
That person's information is not accurate at all. They filmed this for 4 months, meaning they can cover 43-44 episodes. If season 2 is only 16 episodes, that is crazy. I mean it is ridiculous to bring that many people back, just to film another16 episodes.
Furthermore, Allen is filming a new drama right now (Qing Jun) and filming will not end till around Jan or Feb. Do you think Reba will hang around 3-4 months at home, doing nothing while waiting for Allen? Not likely. Don't believe that person. He/she did not provide any concrete evidence that they only finished season 1. If we see concrete evidence, we believe.
Also, if they start filming season 2 only in Jan-Feb 2022, it might take till 2023 before we get to see season 2. This is too big a gap between season 1 and 2. People would be forgotten about season 1, by the time we are in 2023. So, yah, it really does not make sense at all.
Thanks so much! Nice to see the three main characters in the same frame during the wrap up. They looked happy!…
It is not very likely that they need to film season 2 of TBW. Why? Because Allen is right now filming another drama with Li Qin (Qing Jun). The filming of that drama just started not long ago and will take months. If they need to wait, then Reba will be sitting at home doing nothing, while waiting for Allen to finish Qing Jun.
It is more likely that they are done filming both season 1 and 2 for TBW.
Thanks so much! Nice to see the three main characters in the same frame during the wrap up. They looked happy!…
This is not accurate information. They only needed 5 months to film 56 episodes of Eternal Love of Dream back in 2018. Originally, TBW was supposed to have 60 episodes for 2 seasons. Assuming the same rate of filming, they merely needed about 5.5 months to film 60 episodes, not 8 months.
Both TBW and Eternal Love of Dream are Xianxia dramas, and both have the same director, so assuming the same rate of filming is reasonable.
If they merely needed 5.5 months to film both seasons, why wouldn't they want to do that?
I know that Reba started filming LOA in July, but the contract for LOA was signed after the contract for TBW. If she knew that the TBW will take 5.5 months and filming TBW will only end in July, she can easily tell the production people that she can only start filming of LOA in August or Sept.
In any case, the best proof of whether Season 1 or both seasons of TBW were film is to get from official source. Else, we are only speculating.
Will be great if you have clip from the wrap up of TBW, like a YouTube clip or something, showing definitively that filming was done only for Season 1 of TBW. Else, it is more reasonable to assume that they are done filming both seasons, and have trimmed the drama down from 60 episodes to 43 or 44 episodes.
Thanks so much! Nice to see the three main characters in the same frame during the wrap up. They looked happy!…
Do you have any official indication of this? Where in the wrap up of TBW was it indicated that they only filmed season 1 and not both season 1 and 2?? Was there a YouTube clip that they mentioned that only season 1 was filmed? Because I saw the wrap up photo for TBW. There are lots of people involved and it is no joke to bring all of them back together, just to film another 20 episodes of TBW.
And any official confirmation from Reba's studio that she will be filming seaons 2 of TBW soon??
In the absence of any of the above, it is more logical to assume that they are done filming both seasons.
Why do I say that? Because if they are only starting to film season 2 now, it will mean at least 6 month's break between airing of season 1 and 2 of TBW, which is hardly good, especially if season 1 and 2 are closely intertwined. Viewers would have forgotten about season 1.
All those dramas with season 1 and 2 that are closely linked, they are shown in quickly succession, with a short interval of just a few weeks, not 6 months. The best recent example would be One and Only; and Forever and Ever.
Nice! Yet, looking at this video, it is clear that in some of the dramas, they really made her face way too white.…
Actually, we will soon know the answer. If her make up is toned down in TBW and LOA, her face is less white, it would imply they (production teams at TBW and LOA). do feel that the make up in some of her dramas were too white. If nothing is done, they probably feel that it was ok.
At this point, I do not have the data to prove or disprove what her fans in China said about the make up, as I do not have friends in China who can verify that. I merely reflect some commends made by people on the page of YAMG.
Those who do have friends in China, if they have access to Weibo or whatever medium such feedback is given, maybe they can find out if fans in China made the same complains? If fans in China did not complain at all, we can safely conclude that the few international fans who did complain were in the great minority. This way, in future, when others make similar complains about her make-up, we can also tell them that Reba's fans or drama fans in China did not complain about the make up at all.
I am a data driven person. With data, we can make our arguments with greater legitmacy and not resort to speculation.
By the way, all the international fans who made the comments about her make-up, they are actually her fans and not her hater. They followed her to YAMG from the page of TLB, and did not anything bad about YAMG at all, apart from the make-up.
We will hardly go for you. We have had people who asked this question a thousand times. A very simple answer,…
I would not view that no-kiss clause as pure speculation. Only 3-4 people will know the truth: Wu Lei himself; Reba; the director; the producer. And none of these people will ever publicly say that Wu Lei has a no-kiss clause in his contract, when he signed up as Ashile Sun.
In the absence of direct evidence, we can only make educated guess, based on whatever reasonable evidence we can find. It is through the process of elimination, ruling out one possibility after another, that we concluded that that no-kiss clause is the most likely explanation.
To me, it does not make sense for the director to line up Wu Lei and Reba, ask them to pretend to kiss, and then use the two parrots as proxies, if he really did not want any kissing scene in the first place. Like I said, if he did not want to portray any kisses scene at all, why ask Wu Lei and Reba to pretent that they kissed. Was that just to fool viewers?? To let viewers think that they really did kiss, when in actual fact they did not? If so, the director is not smart at all. Because a great majority of viewers will feel that they did not kiss, rather than they did.
I do not know where you find the information that it was the director or the producer's decision not to do the kiss scene, whether the source of that article is reliable. Many of us have been here for months. None of us came across any interviews done by the producer or director which indicated that they were the ones who decided on not having any kisses for Wu Lei and Reba. It is very possible that you may have found something that all of us missed. Do you have the source of your information?? This is important, because, I can assure you, more people will come here and ask the same question.
If that is indeed true, that the director or the producer was the one who made the call, I must say, it is a terrible mistake to film that scene: first asking them to pretent to kiss and then using the two parrots. We have received so many complaints about that scene. Many came here to express disappointment with those parrots. Others just say they should not even have filmed the fake kiss, because viewers are not stupid. They know that it is fake.
Please do not take offense by my asking you for your source (that it was the director/producer who make the no-kiss call). In these days of fake news, we really need to verify our information and the source of our information. If you have the link to an article or a YouTube clip, that will be great.
Nice! Yet, looking at this video, it is clear that in some of the dramas, they really made her face way too white.…
Agree! Reba can also get feedback from her own agency, see if her team members feel that those comments are fair. Or, just ask her team members to view her make up by watching the drama itself. See if they have any comments or concur with those fans comments.
Reading fans comments is the cheapest way to learn and improve. They are free.
Nice! Yet, looking at this video, it is clear that in some of the dramas, they really made her face way too white.…
We know that. But if enough people complain about the same issue, it is a sign that their complains do have some legitmacy. And if so many complain in MDL forums, we can be sure, many more in China will be doing likewise. It will be foolish for production teams to ignore all those complains. Putting on the 'right' amount of make up should not be too difficult a task for make up professionals.
Thanks so much! Nice to see the three main characters in the same frame during the wrap up. They looked happy!…
Right now, nothing official has been announced for Reba what her new 2022 projects will be. I don't really follow LYN. Too many actors/actresses around. Following one is more than enough. Before TLB, I do not even know who LYN was, whilst Flame's Daughter was my intro to Reba dramas.
There will be lots of historical blockbusters in 2022, far more than in 2021. Youku can only control what is in their control, which is to use whatever money that is available in this big budget drama, to get the best post production team. This is the only way they can bullet-proof LOA, so that whatever the competition can throw at this drama, LOA will be able to absorb and outperform its competitors. With so many good historical cdramas in 2022, some degree of head-on collision may be unavoidable. The team at LOA will be ready, come what may. And some kind of competition is always good; it will just up everyone's standards, ultimately benefitting all drama viewers, whether they are supporters of LOA or otherwise.
2022 is indeed a great year to look forward to! Viewers will be spoilt for choice. I told my auntie. Not to worry. If there is a clash, we will give support to all Reba dramas (which will be TBW and LOA). We will only watch other dramas, when we are done watching those two.
Great! Any more details? Post below saying it might be as a brother and sister.
Indeed! And Reba can play just about any kind of role in a modern romantic drama. Once the script is good, and the roles are offered to Leo and Reba, they can both ace it. Societal values are slowly changing in China. That is why we are seeing more and more Cdramas decpicting romance between an older female and a younger male. This is great news for female actresses in China, as it would mean more possibilities for them to play lead roles.
This sort of theme has been around in modern Kdrama for quite a while. Cdrama writers are only starting to play catch up. The problem with playing catch up is that others will accuse Chinese writers of plagairism. So, Chinese writers will really need to be creative, and not use a plot or storyline that was used in Korea years ago.
We will hardly go for you. We have had people who asked this question a thousand times. A very simple answer,…
We have no doubt that it was the director who came up with those two parrots. And, it is true that TLB is different from previous dramas that he directed. But if the director does not want to show any kissing scene at all, he should have done away with that particular scene. It would have been sufficient to just show the two of them in a warm embrace.
So, we can either of those three possibilities: 1 Director made the wrong decision with that scene; 2: Wu Lei had a no-kissing clause in his acting contract for TLB. 3. Any combination of the above 2.
For the great majority of us here, we don't care that there was no kissing scene. When this drama was first aired, we felt that Reba and Wu Lei have done more than enough with their other body language to show love and affection. Our explanation for no-kissing is really to make those who do want a kiss between Li Changge and Ashile Sun a little happier. At least one reviewer speculated that the lack of a kiss took away some views.
Please do not feel bad to express your views. Here in this forum, there is no policeman. We can all express our views without any fear. That is why you see 34K comments in this forum.
A blogger put together this lovely video of Reba in all of her roles plus TBW: https://share.api.weibo.cn/share/261809673.html?weibo_id=4703043058926026
Nice! Yet, looking at this video, it is clear that in some of the dramas, they really made her face way too white. That is something future production teams ought to remember. Hopefully, her make up is not too white in LOA. That will be an unnecessary distraction for drama viewers.
I do not think this will be anything close to The Long Ballad. That one was based on a manhua that was not even…
I assure you, many of us here are like you! Since You are my Glory ended in August, we have been waiting forever, for her next drama. The Blue Whisper will end the drought, followed by LOA. Very rarely do have two Reba historical dramas in a year. So, next year will be really special!
Wh,o rule the world rumor to broadcast the 2q of 2022. It will clash with Reba loa.
There are 3 months in Q2 of 2022. They can avoid a direct clash if they wish to. But, if Tencent deliberately want Who Rules the World to clash with LOA, it can happen. We have confidence in LOA and Tencent may well live to regret it.
Yang Yang's previous historical dramas did not fare very well. And Zhao Lusi's performance in a serious badass role is an unknown factor, as she has never done such a role for an entire drama series, whilst both Reba and Gong Jun have already proven themselves as top performers in historical dramas. In terms of star power, LOA will more than match the other drama.
The director for Who Rules the World is quite an experienced director. But his hit dramas were more of the xianxia genre, rather than historical wuixia. The combined talents and experience of the three directors for LOA should be better than the one person director in that drama.
If Tencent really wants a head-on clash, I do not think Youku will be afraid. It will be a nice boxing match, and LOA will win.
Allen is right now filming another drama. If they have yet to finish the entire series, they are in big trouble. Reba will have a long wait, which is not something she likes to do.
