It can be quite frustrating for all of us who are her drama fans. Filming is done for Legend of Anle, yet no official confirmation for her next project. She should have 2 new projects for 2022. But there is no confirmation for even one of them. If they are held up by some contract negotiation, we might just get some kind of last minute annoucement, and then the booting ceremony starts soon after.

By the way, Dilraba also has another drama that will be aired before LOA. The Blue Whisper. That will also be a blockbuster, and should be out anytime between Jan-March 2022.

If you love TLB, it means you love to see Dilraba being a no- nonsense kickass lady, rather than one always waiting to be rescued by the male lead. Don't worry. She is done playing those kind of damsel-in-distress roles. In all of her historical from here on, she will only play independent minded kickass woman who can plan, fight and defend herself.

I do not think this will be anything close to The Long Ballad. That one was based on a manhua that was not even completed, this is based a novel written by someone else. Storyline and plot would be completely different.

Sure, at certain level, certain things will be the same. The revenge element is going to be there. But then, the revenge element is going to be in 90% of Chinese historical dramas of this nature. Even in some historical rom-com cdramas, we can see elements of revenge.

First, we ruled out age as the issue. As there was a male actor who did a kissing scene when he was only 19-20, when he filmed a historical drama. Wu Lei was around that age, when TLB was filmed.

Second, we do know that the director would have liked do a kissing scene. If look at this work in Eternal Love of Dream, we will see that he is not adverse to asking the leads to do kissing scenes. I read an interview that he actually wanted Reba and Vengo to even more, but our two leads said enough was enough.

Third, although it is true that the manhua has very little romance, by the time they adapted it, they already changed lots of stuff, to add in more romance. For instance, Ashile Sun's recognition that Changge is a girl. In the manhua, AS only knew that CG was a girl at the Liuyuin Temple, which is really late, to start any kind of romance. Here in the drama, romance was brought forward really early. The intention was add more romance to the drama, because both the producer and director knew that without romance, it will be very difficult to draw in sufficient viewers. And if they already pushed the romance element so far ahead, it would make no sense to hold back a kissing scene. Especially when we saw the third couple kissing twice.

Fourth, we can see from the parrot kissing scene, they were already in the process of kissing. Without that no-kiss contract, it would make no sense to use those two parrots. The director would have just asked them to kiss, as Reba clearly has no problem doing kissing scene and Wu Lei did have his first on-screen kiss in that movie of it.

Fifth, we also ruled out COVID-19 as the reason, even though this drama was filmed at the height of the pandemic in China. Why was this ruled out? The third couple did have two kissing scenes.

Step by step, we ruled out one reason after another, over a period of weeks. And when someone told us that Wu Lei had a kissing scene in his movie, we knew that the no-kiss contract must be the only logical conclusion.

Perhaps they finished at different times, and due to scheduling issue could not gather for one of those end-of-filming group photo?? Seems that everyone finished at different times and had to fly off somewhere.

Nice to finish filming in 1st half of November. If all goes well, we should see this drama in Q2 of 2022.

I don't think Tencent will want that one to compete directly with LOA. It will just divide the viewing audience.

I think LOA will not get stuck in the review process. Both Reba and Gong Jun are scandal-free, likewise all the supporting actors/actresses. The contents of LOA has nothing to do with bromance. They will work steadily but efficiently after filming. Anything from June 2022 onward should be possible, though it is more likely to air around July/August.

I know you got disappointed that TOOL is still stuck. I gave up waiting for that one, and these days, just watch whatever that is good that is aired, while waiting for TBW.

There is a continuous stream of new people coming to watch TLB. There are people who moved over to YAMG, and people who actually come over to watch TLB after watching YAMG. Lots of new people realise just how good TLB is, after watching some other historical dramas.

TLB's post production process only took 7 months (from end of filming to airing). And that one has 49 episodes. LOA only has 40 episodes, so logically, it should be shorter and Q2 is highly possible. But Reba has another drama (TBW) that is expected to air in Q 2022, or we could be looking at late Q2 for LOA.

The TLB page just got heated up over the past few days. There are non-stop newcomers dropping by, to comment or ask questions.

I am good. Still on the page of TLB, as the drama, Reba and Alen Feng won some awards in the US, and the page got active again in recent days. Titania uploaded a tweet that indicated that we might see Legend of Anle in Q2 of 2022. That might be possible, as this drama has only 40 episodes.

You are right. Not only the cast members, but directors and costume designers are very important. All of the fight scenes, the costumes, they are so very important in a historical drama. Good that we have these important people coming over from WOH, as they did an amazing job there.
