Where did you hear this from?? And why would anyone want to do that?? That drama was aired just 5 years ago and…
If the Chinese government is trying to erase all traces of Zheng Shuang's movies and dramas, all the more, no one should try to remake Love020. It will send the wrong political message to the Chinese government. It is quite sad, because Yang Yang now cannot lay claim to act in one of China's most successful dramas.
While Zheng Shuang's scandals are quite sad, I personally hope that over time, after she has paid for her mistakes and learned her lessons, the Chinese government will forgive her and let her back into the entertainment industry. Perhaps after a 5 year ban? The fact that she has won so many acting awards shows that she is a good actress.
Some may disagree and say all the awards were driven by her fans, but isn't true of all actors and actresses in China? If everyone plays by the same rules, she won those awards fair and square.
She is only 30. Destroying her acting career forever could mean destroying her totally. What will she do? Try to sell stuff online like what Fan Bingbing is trying to do?

That is fake news. Don't believe it. I don't think Reba and Yang Yang will want to do it. They have already proven themselves in YAMG. Why would they want to do another game related drama?
There are rumor that Reba and yang yang will do a remake love 020. What you guys think on this.
Where did you hear this from?? And why would anyone want to do that?? That drama was aired just 5 years ago and people can still watch it on YouTube and Netflix. Why not just let it be, the best modern Cdrama of all time in terms of view counts??
I heard Crime Crackdown is broadcasted in various tv channels besides Tencent...So it will be more popular...Also…
I already finished Remembrance of things past. Quite a nice one. I watched it raw, without any English sub. After a few episodes, I could understand their Mandarin accent. Very good acting by many of the actors/actresses, even though visually they are not as beautiful as Reba or handsome as Yang Yang.
I will try some of the others that you have mentioned. My preference is still for historical Chinese dramas, which I love because of all the beautiful ancient Chinese costumes, and ancient Chinese cultural practices. And sometimes, it is just fun to see people flying around, although we know they are flying on wires.

Should definitely be lower than YAMG. We can only imagine what it would cost Tencent just to have Reba and Yang Yang in the leads. And the the CGI for that video game did not come cheap. Production as a whole looks very top class. YAMG did not come cheap. All the product placements likely helped it to recover lots of the cost.
I could be wrong, but I don't think any expensive CGI was used for CC. And the cast members, though popular in China, are not in the same cost category as Reba and Yang Yang.
Different genre, shouldn't be compared apple to orange. I am watching CC right now and it's truly brutal. It can…
I think as a plot device, YAMG already lost its novelty as a gaming drama. When Love020 first appeared, it was truly novel, so all kinds of people flocked to watch it.
So how many more view does Crime Countdown need to get to beat YRMG??
It has about 26B views. 0.9B views per episode sounds about right. It is a record that is hard to beat. Again, it was a pioneer for the gaming genre. Timing was just right for it to hit that kind of number.

I know that they are different genre, even though they are both modern dramas. I go that page, and know that you are watching it. So, yes, though we do not have statistics to prove it, YAMG may appeal more to female viewers, less willing to see so much brutality. CC does have a broader reach.

Even in my own country, when they put together documentaries about real events that have lots of violence and blood, they tone it down a lot. They just use drawings, and leave it to viewers' imagination that there were lots of violence and lots of people had their hands and legs being chopped off. We know those events, because they were all over the newspapers.
I think it is the same with CC. Certain scenes in that drama will trigger memories among Chinese viewers and they will know which specific event took place in real life.
I will give CC a pass, and just wait for The Oath of Love. When the Oath of love is done, maybe there will be another great drama from China. Plenty of choices. And next year, there are two historical dramas from Dilraba. One from Yang Yang. A lot to look forward to.
Just 18 more...Good to see.rhe drama will start airing with more than 10k users here...And hope it will cross…
Ok. Thanks so much! I think if the combined strength of their fans can reach about 100M, getting to 150M views per episode should an easy target. And you are right about YZ fans. They will surely be out in full force to support this drama.
Not to worry. We should know soon enough, once this drama is aired.

I see. Thanks for the explanation on how well CC is doing on TV in China.
Ok, to tell you truth, even when I was checking the view counts for CC, seeing all the trailers and episodes playing in the background, I already felt too much blood and violence. I think it is just me. I do have rather low tolerence for violence. Especially for modern dramas. For historical drama, I can tolerate it better. The way they do all the fighting scenes in historical dramas, sometimes it is pure artistry. I do not see any art in violence found in modern dramas.

You do not need to have a Weib account to see all those messages. I do not have one. I just click on the links, and I can see all the photos and goodbye messages.

Of course we enjoyed YAMG! I am rewatching now, while waiting for TOOL. Just a bit sad seeing a drama we have been cheering so hard for the past many weeks, so easily beaten by another drama so early, so soon.

When I compared the number of views between YAMG and CC, I only took the view counts from Tencent video. I am not from China, so no way I will know the number of views on TV. But, it has lots of very violent scenes, so only shown late in China. So, I think the number of views from TV will not be very high.
I am not sure YAMG will be shown on TV in China. If it is, it will also be shown late at night. Maybe around 9.30 pm. All those kiss scenes, I do not think the censors will want them to be seen by minors in China.
I think that show caters to a slightly different set of audience than YAMG. It has lots of violent scenes. Most people came to YAMG looking for 'romance' type of drama. I do not know some of you. I cringe at seeing too much blood, even when I watch historical dramas that has lots of fighting. Seeing blood oozing from human bodies can make me puke (and I not speaking figuratively here).
A bit sad knowing this fact as for an international viewer like me, I don't know about the 'other' drama. But,…
Just to clarify what I said. This 'other' drama, it is inspired from real crime cases in China. So, the Chinese viewers will be able to relate to it far more than we the international viewers do. Viewers in China will know which part of the drama took place in real life, in China. We do not have a clue.

I understand where you are coming from. I just wanted to add a sense of reality to people here who are going gaga over Gu Man and her style of writing. The numbers clearly show that she does not dominate novel writing in China. And she did not make enough changes in the drama to make sure that the drama dominates the airwave in China. She screenwrites this drama from her own novel; I think she loves her own novel very much and did not want to change too many things, even if she knew past criticiams about her novel.
YAMG is a hit, for sure. But just not massive enough to obliterate all its competitors.
