Hey, can anyone who is from china tell me which of the dramas had more hype - You are my glory or Falling into…
I could be wrong here, but Falling into your smile was shown on more platforms. For example, if you go to the Falling into your smile page, you can see that besides Tencent video, it is screened on Youku as well as Vicki. It has a wider international reach, hence more people watched that drama internationally, as compared to YAMG, which is shown on Tencent video and Viu (which is another international streaming platform). That one additional viewing platform likely brought it more viewers.
In any case, the number of views in China is most important, because the number of people who watched drama in China is far greater than the number of viewers internationally.
And soon, YAMG will be available to international viewers on YouTube free of charge and fully subtitled in English. and FIYS will be no match for YAMG.
It will not be very high, as all the fast track people have watched it. We saw how they crashed both the apps…
There is another very popular drama coming up, called The Oath of Love. But, that drama will be shown on TV, as well as Tencent's streaming platform. My guess is that the TV audience may take away many viewers from the streaming platform, hence YAMG may end 2021 as the most viewed modern drama on Tencent's streaming platform.
Can any one recommend some good dramas such as this one that came out this year or whenever could be modern, ancient, chinese, korean…
Reba has two coming up next year. For this year, this is her last. If you have yet to watch Eternal Love of Dream which was aired last year, you can try that one. She was also the female lead there.
I will leave others to recommend you other dramas. Lots of people are very good with that.

Super bit hit. And mind you, those dramas have more or less got stuck at those numbers. But the view number for YAMG keeps increasing. This coming Monday, it will go up again, when VIP members in China view the last 2 episodes. And the Monday after next, for those who chose the completely free option.
When everything is in, it is well possible for YAMG to end up with 3.3B to 3.5B views. If one single streaming platform can bring that many views, Tencent really ought to give a big fat bonus to Yang Yang and Reba. There is little doubt that their excellent acting brought YT and QJJ alive, from the novel.
No problem. Glad to share this information. Many people just watch this drama purely from an acting viewpoint, how well Reba and Yang Yang acted and had great chemistry. But Reba acted as QJJ, a successful actress. So, it was great opportunity for Tencent to make lots of money from product placements.
Less opportunity for YT. I think he kept advertising that Yogurt drink.
Yes, dubbed by professional voice actors and actresses
But the voice actress who dubbed her voice in TLB is very good!! She did a very good job. She was able to convey all the emotions very well through her voice.
Yes, dubbed by professional voice actors and actresses
Haha! No wonder you found it weird. In YAMG, it was her own voice. She dubbed her own voice there, after filming. They usually do that, because during filming, if you recall, many of the scenes in YAMG were filmed outdoor. Lots of unwanted noise like traffic noise, etc. So, after filming, they go to a studio, and Reba will dub her own voice.
For those of who do not know what product placement is, let me give a simple example. Look at the wedding gown worn by Reba (QJJ). It comes from the design house of Galia Lahav, and it is a very popular brand for wedding gowns. In the past, clients of this brand included Beyonce, Gal Gadot, Jennifer Lopez and Ruby Lin. In China, when the famous pianist wed, his bride Gina wore a wedding gown designed by Galia Lahav.
Now, in this drama, Tencent is not going to let Reba wear that gown for 'free'. Galia Lahav will have to pay Tencent, because it will be something like an advertisement for Galia Lahav. Lots of people in China would have known by now, this gown is by Galia Lahav. Remember, it was the marriage scene that caused the crash last Monday night. At least 100M people in China have watched that episode. Some of those will be brides-to-be, so if they can afford it, they will want to wear this gown. This gown will not be cheap. If just 1000 brides across all China buy this gown, I think Galia Lahav would have recovered the money they pay to Tencent. Apart from the viewers in China, we also have viewers from around the world who watched that marriage scene.
It will not be very high, as all the fast track people have watched it. We saw how they crashed both the apps…
I am not too sure. But see my comments above. Those dramas were screened on mulitple platforms, some not controlled by Tencent. More platforms usually mean more views.

Elena, do take note. Rattan was streamed on many different streaming platforms (apart from Tencent). So, we consider only Tencent apps, we do not know how many billions they have, but not likely to be 3.95B. Maybe even less than 3B views
Same for You are my hero. It too was streamed on many platforms, so just for Tencent platform, may also be less than 3B views.
For YAMG, Tencent wanted total control. In China, I think YAMG can only be viewed via the two streaming platforms controlled by Tencent. Total control means they can control the prices they charge for product placements.
It is. No drama can beat this. 2nd highest is Startup, a modern Kdrama. They have close to 30k now, but will still…
It may, actually. I will be watching that one, once it airs. People here in this section did not set out to have the highest number of comments. It just happened naturally. I think it is totally by chance. Just a bunch of people who fell in love with this drama, who happened to have lots of free time at the same point in time.
If the same thing happened at the page of Immortality, it will have more comments than TLB.
is this the most commented drama on MDL???? another one i seen is IOTNBO around 19k
It is. No drama can beat this. 2nd highest is Startup, a modern Kdrama. They have close to 30k now, but will still not be able to beat the Comments section in TLB. We are too far ahead.
We are now at 3.1 B views. At current rate, I guess we will get 0.1 per day or per 1.5 days ... either we reach…
It will not be very high, as all the fast track people have watched it. We saw how they crashed both the apps last Monday evening. And by now, VIP members would have watched up to E30.
Come this Monday, the rate will go up, when VIP members in China who did not fast track watch the final two episodes. And the rate will pick up again two Mondays from now, when the final two episodes will be watched by non-VIP members. Thereafter, I think view counts will grow very very slowly.
So, this coming Monday and the next, YAMG must accumulate as many views as possible.

As of late May, Rattan has 3.95B and You are my hero has 3.585B
